This quaint restaurant is located in the bustling old town of Saint Jean de Luz, the French Basque region near the border of Spain. We decided to take a trip to this region during our vacation to taste their cuisine.
After sightseeing for a few hours, we stopped by Le Fandango for lunch. We were greeted warmly by the waiter, and fortunately for us he also spoke English, Spanish and French. We were seated in the front patio area overlooking the bustling Rue de la Republique next to Place Louis XIV.
We ordered the grilled sardines, seasoned tomatoes, and jumbo prawns. I was pleasantly surprised! I've never had sardines before, but definitely will try them again. They were delicious and not fishy tasting at all. The tomatoes were drizzled with olive oil and balsamic vinegar and the prawns seasoned and cooked nicely. It was all very good, and the service was awesome! Great food and service in beautiful Saint Jean de Luz. read more
