Cute location (sitting outside is recommended), solid appetizers and desserts, mediocre main dishes, and astonishingly poor service. Not rude so much as overburdened and poorly organized. We sat for about 30 minutes before even being acknowledged beyond a menu by the wait staff, and when it was clear we wanted to order a prix fixe menu with a wine pairing, it took another 20 minutes to get any wine, and 45 minutes to get the first dish. This was with me going over twice and trying to politely imply they should come by, including "could you please stop by the table with some water?"
I'm very used to (and really enjoy) the difference of rural European dinner settings from a typical American or British experience - dinners that last 2-3 hours, where you're not too bothered by the staff, etc. - but common decency would say if you're going to make people wait (and you know you're running slow) that you bring out some wine, or comp something.
The chocolate cake dessert was excellent, and one of the appetizers - a tuna tartare with a wasabi and creme topping - was very good. The two entrees (a smoked veal and a pan roasted white fish) were good, but a little overpriced for what they were. read more
