They were a bit pricey but nothing out of the ordinary for a gourmet style burger. Just wish France would start importing some ketchup... These young, up and coming chefs and restaurants in Lyon, surrounded by Michelin start restaurants,…read moreare turning up some really good food and Les Frangins is no exception. The food - They make everything in house. Nothing is refrigerated so everything is made fresh daily. The burger I got, the Classic Bacon Burger, is one of the, if not the best, burger I have had so far. Here's the kicker. While their burger is that good, the fries is probably one of the worst I've had. The fries were soggy and not crunchy, like what happens to potatoes when it's fried in oil that's not hot enough. It boiled in oil, not fried. Everything else is really good. Bun is good and not like "white bread" and mushy. Patty is good, not too thick, too juicy, not greasy, with good seasoning. The lettuce was green and crunchy. The onions we're caramelized well. The sauces were really nice and flavorful. Ketchup and mayo were even made in house. But those soggy fries... man. They just need to get some good crispy fries and it would have been a perfect meal. Otherwise, the burger is great. Five stars because of that. The Place - Typical of EU restaurants, it's small. The Service - It was good. Soggy fries came out pretty late in the meal. I was halfway through my burger before it came out. I think fries should come out with burger. It's like getting your sides halfway through eating your main meal. Overall, even with the soggy fries, I would still recommend going to Les Frangins for their burgers. I'd like to go back a few years from now to see them still there, hopefully have grown, and with crispy fries.

I loved the burgers, loved the fries, loved the people. I always got the bacon burger, because that's how I roll, and it was YUM. The fries were fresh and perfectly seasoned. Their sauces were made in-house (I liked the mayo better than the ketchup). I was always met with a warm welcome, and after only one visit, they still remembered who I was when I went in a second time weeks later. When I moved up to Croix-Rousse, I was burger deprived - the food truck didn't stop nearby, and St. Paul was a long trek down the hill. When I finally came back down the hill one day to satiate my burger craving, the boutique was closed *tear* So it's been awhile, because no matter where the truck was parked, it always seemed to be far away! However, it seems they're not far from my new job at least one day a week = I'll have to give them another try and see if they've held up the original standards of deliciousness.

It was a success, sir! This burger (Sympathy for the Devil) had the correct amount of spice and was absolutely delicious. I'm still not 100% sure about the veg patty though. But the chefs are working on this! We talked a little bit about it today and I'm excited to keep trying any new or updated recipes. Keep up the good work, guys! Four stars still - I have to give you something to work towards! ;) Oh also - my husband got the same burger but the regular kind with meat and, again, was very pleased. Only this time he was pleased with the level of spice as well. In conclusion - go there, order a burger. And if you want it spicy, make sure they know you want it actually spicy!

If you order the "sandwich," you'll get falafel, hummus, the "falafel sauce" (which I think was tahini-based but I'll ask next time,) fresh tomato, fresh mint, and pickles on Lebanese bread. It costs 4,50€ and is quite filling and very tasty! The owner is super friendly too and he knows English, which is a bonus for me! He gave me a stuffed grape leaf to try while he was making my falafel (that's right - he was making it fresh right there!!) and that was tasty too. It was fresh and crisp, not like the ones you buy at the store that are a soggy mess. The truck is parked at various locations around the city throughout the week but you can visit their website to see where it is on a particular day. Trust me - it's worth it!
