The mall just goes up and includes shops like Old Navy and Uniqlo. There's Time Out Market, which houses so many eateries and cafeteria-style long tables. Sure enough, whenever I am travelling to Montreal, it has become a habit to visit Les Avenues Vaudreuil. Essentially, it's a huge series of box stores in a neighbourhood-like setting. I tend to visit the Gap, and Fruits and Passion the most. The deals are amazing. I have bought a t-shirt at the former for $5 and body wash for $3 at the latter. I tend to dine at Baton Rouge after exercising my credit cards and carrying all my stuff to my car. Oddly enough, I don't eat at Baton Rouge in the GTA. It's either here or in Winnipeg. I love the raspberry red velvet cake at this location. Service is always outstanding, with menus in both official languages. I revisited this place in July and there have been some exciting changes since I was last there. If you're tired of walking around, there's a train that takes you from one end of the shopping plaza to the other. Nice! There are stops along the way. I also like that there's a Sephora. It is normally housed in a huge shopping mall and not an open area full of box stores. JYSK is gone. HomeSense and Marshalls have taken over that corner. The latter grew one me when I found a pretty purple Kipling handbag. On the other end of this shopping plaza is Winners and Forever 21. I loved being in the former. I revisited the outlet again last September. I am a Gap girl. I like the fact that I can get casual clothing at decent, reduced prices at any Gap outlet. This one is no exception. Both times, I bought some wonderful pieces. I fondly recall getting a jean skirt that had wonderful Lycra stretch to it. I got it for $10! The last time I was there, I got many nice articles of clothing, including a lightweight t-shirt that had various attractions in San Francisco, and a navy blue knitted cardigan with a hoodie. The first time I was there, I recall the male staff member cashing me out and how friendly he was. I bought a lot of items, but didn't break the bank. He gave me $50 worth of Gap cash, which you can redeem a bit later. I redeemed the $50 at the Gap outlet in Ajax. The woman there thought it was cool to see Gap cash entirely in French! The marché is located next to the Baie wing and includes an enormous Avril (health food store), a mini SAQ, at least a dozen restaurants/cafes and merchant stands stunning Quebec products. Outside is a small farmers market and Odessa poissonnerie. This whole section is very impressive! The restaurants include a wine bar and a brasserie that even displays their brewery. The avril has a large cafeteria and tons of ready to eat meals to go. Will definitely be spending some time here during the winter months!
