I'm a tourist - can you tell? - and was excited (but terribly nervous) to try French cuisine. I'm not fluent in the language, which added to my nerves, but the staff was understanding and friendly, especially once I at least attempted to speak some French. My traveling companions and I decided that while on our trip to France and Italy, we wouldn't go the same place twice... but we had to make an exception for this little gem. Asked for a wine recommendation - after describing our taste, our server selected the perfect bottle for us. The rumsteak was fabulous, the sausage (according to my friend) was delicious (the cheesy potatoes were amazing), the lamb knuckle was tender and flavorful. Also loved the duck confit and the spicy chicken!! Chocolate mousse, tiramisu and pear pie were all exceptional desserts, as well. On the second night, the staff remembered us and rushed our orders into the kitchen before it closed. Our regular server (didn't catch her name!! - she had short hair and glasses at the time) was fabulous and was able to help with any questions we had about the menu, and we met another server - Lea - who was a bright, bubbly breath of fresh air! She's very energetic and playful, and taught us a little French while practicing her English. Had fun talking about Grey's Anatomy and Seattle! The whole staff stopped by to talk a couple of times, took funny photos with us, and told us we must stop by again the next time we're in Paris. Even if I'm staying on the other side of town, you can be sure that I'll be back for such wonderful food and service. read more
