I was looking for a florist local to my friend's home and I knew nothing about the area. This place had good reviews and the online ordering was easy. I selected a sympathy vase arrangement that was close to $200. Ordering flowers online always feels like a gamble to me but I made my peace with it. Shortly after placing the order, the shop called asking what drew me to pick the arrangement. I explained it was for a friend whose sister passed suddenly and that there were certain colors/flowers I wanted, for cultural reasons. The florist explained that my selection was a very small arrangement (8 inches tall) for the money I was paying. She asked if I was ok with her making an arrangement 3x the size of what I originally selected, and it would still be what I paid. I agreed. The new arrangement was spectacular. Bigger, more impactful, but still adhering to the specific cultural aspects requested. I am really grateful to this shop for the heart and integrity they showed in reaching out to me and the product they delivered. It was clear to me, from that phone conversation, how much this person loved their job and took pride in their work. I live in Chicago and the arrangement they made for me would easily cost $500+. Santo is the original owners' son, and now runs the business himself. When I was planning my wedding starting last year I checked around through reviews, recommendations of friends, and talked to a few florists. Then I called Santo. He immediately made me feel that he would do whatever it took to get me the exact flowers and look I was wanting. While not too picky about the bridesmaid and groomsmen flowers (I already knew the exact rose I wanted) I was picky about my bouquet. Only a certain color rose would do. Santo hunted for what I wanted, not even knowing if it actually existed, but about 3 months before the wedding he called and said he believed he had "my rose". I went after work to check it out and was so excited because it was exactly what I wanted. However, I was totally blown away on my wedding day when Santo personally came to deliver my flowers at the country club. They were even more beautiful than I ever imagined. My bouquet held 30 of the most perfect, fresh roses, along with some "bling" to match the beading on my dress. All this was wrapped in a swatch from my dress that he had requested, to make sure everything matched. My bridesmaids' bouquets were exquisite and perfectly matched, as were all the groomsmens', ushers, and family's flowers. Although everything about our wedding went even better than I had hoped, I am being totally honest when I say that the one thing that truly stood out in my mind for being better than I had hoped were my flowers.
