This was my family's dinner destination for my birthday dinner while staying in Avignon, and it was…read morefantastic! We each went with the "pick 7", and it was a little too much food by the time we got to dessert, but everything was so delicious, it didn't matter too much! The lamb that 3 of us had at dinner was a little over-cooked, but the duck that the other 2 of us had was perfect, so moist, and so delicious! In speaking with the owner, she said she doesn't usually make duck, so if she says that about anything while you're there - I'm betting it's the special of the day and just superb!

A fantastic lebanese restaurant experience…read more Start with the lebanese beer. It has a light citrus accent and is perfect for a warm afternoon on the terrasse. I had the Menu Arzz, which started off with a plate of hummus, tabbouleh, falafel and a fromage frais/yogurt. I had never had parsley-based tabbouleh, but was pleasantly surprised. If you find it a little bitter or harsh you can mix it with the fromage. The main course was two lamb brochettes, two spicy chicken brochettes and a beef/pita thing. The lamb was fantastic, especially if you are not a lamb fan. The chicken was perfectly cooked, juicy and tender and evenly spiced. I was less enthused by the beef pita but it was still nice to discover. The service on terrasse was very good. A little slow between the two courses but very pleasant and attentive when we asked for more water or beer. To be repeated the next time I am back in Avignon.

This is a delightful place for sitting outside and watching the colorful festival world go by…read more Service was friendly. However, food was a mistake, especially with so many good small restaurants nearby. My salade niçoise was a dispirited bowl of lettuce with 3 aging slices of tomato, a few identifiable potato scraps and green beans, three olives, a teaspoonful of watery dressing, and a huge chunk of very fishy unfresh tuna. There may have been better choices.

We were looking for a restaurant with gluten free options and stumbed on Lou Mistrau. Although…read morethere is no gluten free menu, our waiter was very helpful, suggesting options that would work and making the necessary substitutions. Our diners were great, no gluten poisoning after and we found the wait staff kind and attentive. Would definitely recommend.

First of all, the food was delicious. My favorite was the poulet de comté et choriso. When I tell…read moreyou it was the best food I've had in France so far. The people there were so amazing as well and Coco and Lolo are the friendliest people. The restaurant was a nice escape from the heat, and all the decor is cow themed which was very cute. I believe they recently changed ownership and boy are they doing something right. Overall great experience that I would recommend to anyone.

We passed this restaurant on the way to another and noticed all the happy looking people inside…read more Where we were headed had no available tables so we went back to La Vache a Carreaux and had a lovely meal. First, the wait staff was attentive, sweet, happy to speak English as needed and very helpful. Our waiter made several wine suggestions and brought two bottles for us to taste which was a nice touch. The beef carpaccio was delicious and the fondue was a total surprise - it was served with potatoes, a salad and an entire plate of charcuterie which we were not expecting. The menu said it was for two and after the entree, it was way more than we could finish but we made a good dent and really enjoyed everything. Unfortunately we had no room for dessert but our neighbors on both sides seemed to really enjoy what they ordered. BTW - we were seated in a small room in the back with three other tables of non French speakers and I thought MAYBE we were in for an unpleasant evening but as stated above, all was good and a great experience
