Avoid this bank if you want to save yourself troubles. I have opened a bank account with them at PARIS ST GERM PRES 66 on a recommendation of my friend in Paris, when I was a student in France, because supposedly they had good offers for students.
However not only that those did not compare to what offered the competitor banks, they always tried to find a leeway to avoid keeping their promises and they only provided me with a part of the joining bonus. Nonetheless, that would have been the smallest issue.
The major problem case when I was tried to close my account with them. As I did not have enough time to close my account before my departure and as I was reassured that I can do it from abroad and that it is a seamless process, I decided to do it from back home. However, the problem has not been resolved since - I have been trying to close the account for almost a year and half!
They started charging me interests and eventually sent me a formal notice that their my case was sent to a bailiff. I was enraged as I had been trying to close the account before and instead they let the account open and accrue interest payments. Anyway, I settled the debt realizing that there is perhaps no way of resolving the issue otherwise as I cannot just make a visit to France to go to their bank and I sent them the closing documents in French and also messaged my personal banker (multiple times now!), but nothing has been done since. Not to mention that the staff does not speak English and e.g. just hang up on you when you call them in English.
Therefore, I highly discourage you from opening an account with this bank, and even more so if you are not fluent in French, because they will be dropping your case like a hot potato to other bankers. read more
