In 2018 I gave my hometown store a 5 star rating, it had excellent management and staff. Even not too long ago, before the last few men managers and some other staff have come to work there. Not honoring the exemption of masks in their store, by telling me I have to wear a mask when I don't. Then on top of that, a costumer interfered with myself and another man who wasn't wearing a mask, and she swore at him and threatened not only to call the police on me but that she "wanted to punch me." Funny I would say, as she didn't want me 12 ft. apart, so how could she punch me, as she was yelling at me, "don't come any closer. At 6 ft. cant touch me either. Yet. the staff member did nothing with this violent costumer. She did threatened me though, that I could be evicted permanently from the store.
For what? Going into the store , minding my own business and wanting to shop. Like I have been doing for over 20 yrs.
Another costumer came out of no where, telling me to "stop it, you need to stop it!" While I was walking away, saying nothing.
When I called the Manager after the weekend, I found no support, he took back what he had told me before,"that if a costumer bugs me, or gets rude with me over my Exception, I could go to the staff to talk with the costumer, that I would not have to deal with them. He told me," I should never have told you that,I take that back. Costumers handle their own disputes between themselves. " There was much more that was said, but too long to go into it. Just to say, it saddens me that this is how things are handled now, no respect anymore for decent costumers. In yrs. back any rude costumer would be asked to leave. Yet I get told I may have to because I don't have a piece of material on my face.
He also made a rude remark to me, "that I was sounding "soap like" whatever that is to mean, referring to punching would be not 6 ft. away and touching me." If degrading costumers is part of it too, well just goes to show.
Cornwall LCBO have nice workers there, that respect their costumers and the exceptions. read more
