The entire stash of bagged spices reportedly sells out within days of being stocked! And a little less than half a kilo went for only $4.46CAD -- what a steal (so was the huge bag of bay leaves for $1.25)! Protip: be prepared for TSA to search your bag if you end up purchasing some spices from this shop. Apparently, it looked like we were smuggling some illicit substances back home...

I was particularly interested in the French skincare care brands such as Le Petit Marseillais and Dop which are normally very hard to find in Canada. They had a decent selection of soaps and bodywashes priced fairly compared to the original prices in Europe. If you are not familiar with the brands, you may still be impressed by the goods - we ended up purchasing some specialty sodas and unique potato chips along with other snacks. Excellent and friendly service from the staff. Wish the selection was bigger and some things more affordable, I noticed they had a section of discounted goods that were close to or past their best before date therefore I think this shop doesn't get enough customers or may not sell enough products.

You will find multiple types of cinnamon, clove, turmeric, roots - even flavored sugar (try the raspberry!). In my opinion, there's no reason you would NOT find what you're looking for, right here. Service: Each time that I've been, I spoke to someone that was super knowledgeable about the products. They were always able to explain the subtle differences between the various spices, and make great recommendations on what I should use to cook a specific dish. Price: Pretty good - unless you're buying a super rare root from the middle of nowhere, these guys won't rip you off. You basically pay for the weight, though I think they do have a minimum quantity.

So many spices and herbs to choose from and just checking them out gave me a lot of inspirations! Epices de Cru is also a tea shop. A whole wall full of loose tea leaves in tins. You can buy them in small package which the staff will pack them for you. The lady that served us was really knowledgeable and helpful and is a real tea sommelier. Their selection is from all over the World and they have interesting offerings from smaller tea plantations. You can also buy a hot tea to go brewed from one of the tea leaves! This was a highlight during my recent visit of Marche Jean-Talon. So if you love tea, spices and herbs, make sure you drop by Epices de Cru!

All nuts are roasted on the premises hence the freshness and the amazing smell coming out from the back of the store. Roasted nuts are available as salted, semi salted or unsalted. It also has middle eastern grocery items like makdous (stuffed eggplants), red pepper paste, dates, etc. In addition, they sell Turkish/Arabic coffee ground. Service is quick even if sometimes a line forms in the store due to high volume of customers.

Which I've mentioned multiple times to ALI, as I've tried for 40 years to get him to carry stevia, the only acceptable sugar substitute for diabetics (according to my doctor). So much fun realizing they just eliminated it from their shelves...altogether. But it was this bulk grain order that's turned me off this store, perhaps for good: I ordered 5 X 20KG bags of grain. Kamut, Spelt Rye, Buckwheat and Oats. The Kamut, Spelt, Rye and Oats arrived in a reasonable amount of time. And, as I am handicapped, Ali brought it right up to the third floor. Nice. I haven't seen any sign of the buckwheat, in the 5 months since. Despite Ali giving his word it was coming. But the oats were the kicker. "Not fit for human consumption" is the description I'd give them. Every mouthful a festival of oat husks, and I'm spitting that &^%%$ out for an hour after every breakfast. I told Ali about it, days after it was delivered, and again, he gave me his word it'd be replaced. 5 months later, I'm still waiting. When the weather's good enough for me to get to the store, with my two canes and without my ebike, limited to about 3 blocks range...I limp to the store and I'm told that "Ali doesn't want to deal with this." Well. I don't exactly want to deal with an enormous bag of pig-oats, which I'm now forced to eat every day. I NEED oats for my diet. And there's no way I can carry a 20KG bag downstairs to throw it out. So now I'm forced to eat BAD oats I don't like...and to wonder why I'm being treated so shoddily. So "bulk delivery"??? Meh. Use TAU

So this is a Hole in the wall kindove place but I love sketchy places you always find interesting…read morethings and I always go in with no expectations. This store holds lots of Chinese food and health supplies. I came in for a particular item called "Zheng Gu Shui" its the miracle oil to help rid of pain and to my luck They had it at the store for 9$ pretty happy I got 2 bottles ! I love trying different healthy & natural remedies to alleviate pain instead of a generic drug that stops working after 4 hours. Tons of interesting items from overseas and random things you can not think of they got it. The place is a bit run down and it seems like it doesn't have regular hours of operation but we were lucky to have it open when we were there. Overall, great find and totally recommend hopefully it will still be open next time we come back for more of that miracle oil bottle for chronic pain. It works like a charm.

The special of the day included: soup, Pretzel/Croissant with turkey, 3 sides including carrot, macaroni & green salad; tea/coffee included. Service was very prompt and friendly and the food was delicious! As I did not have any room left for dessert I opted to purchase a yummy fruit/mousse cake slice and a delicious chocolate covered macaroon to bring home for a treat later in the day. As expected, the sweets were out of this world in taste and texture. Will definitely go back another day soon.
