When I first moved in some years ago, things were a bit better/consistent.. 2024+ it became problematic. Dealing with the property management is a hassle at times. Management is occasionally argumentative, especially if you are inquisitive or concerned about sudden changes. They force coax cable internet on all new tenants ($65 + electrical bill increase due to device power use) despite other better and less expensive options being available (proper bidirectional fiber via at&t for example) The maintenance requests can potentially be delayed, you're better off learning basic maintenance yourself for some of the common problems you may encounter, example: changing bulbs for all lights including your oven/microwave, or if your AC powers off - how to get it working again assuming no unit failure has occurred. The street lights are not properly maintained often having dead bulbs forcing anyone walking when its dark to need to carry a flashlight. Further on maintenance - if they damage something like a wall or your carpet.. document this immediately because you will be potentially charged for anything they do if you aren't aware of it when it occurs. On Residents - mostly okay, but the community requires some safety conscious traversal, some residents will speed and skip stop signs and also fail to clean up after their animals. Also.. residents occasionally operate grills/fire pits near the buildings so any open window can get smoke inside of it. On The Goat - Okay place, mixed drinks are inconsistent in quality, counters on the bar area are occasionally sticky, food is alright, better off going to Rusty Bucket next to giant eagle.. Because the servers sometimes just flat out leave you sitting there until you flail your arms. Other amenities - pool - its small for the community size. volleyball area - its there.. gym - its alright, sometimes smells like a locker room due to occasional ventilation issues. On mandatory trash pickup (another forced fee) - they occasionally leave bags half ripped in the middle of the road and are inconsistent in pickup times. Your trash bin may be returned to you in a worse state than you had left it out, as they will also throw the bins onto the ground. crime - as of 2026 there have been a several incidents of vehicle break ins, the lack of proper lighting does not help with this, and the community lacks any form of security in place to protect residents or their property. - The forced ISP changes/charges occurred sometime in 2025 - The trash pickup issues were always inconsistent - The maintenance problems were always present for the community street lights - Pet cleanup issues have always been a thing, not everyone is considerate. Moved in pretty seamless even with my roommate coming from out of state. Was a bit surprised with the limited number of local and/or state agencies on the preferred employer list. Pricing: With all the amenities and very well managed snow, landscaping, and trash seems very reasonable. We both moved out during COVID. Both went in and cleaned post move out. Both knew with having two dogs deposit being refunded was unlikely, but we figured we would at least break even. Between the deposits, pet fees, and month extra pet fees. We paid a ton towards this $$$$... both dogs are over 8 years old and haven't been destructive in years. Spend their days just napping together. However, we received a notice that there was pet damage. We took photos when we moved out of the carpet and no visible damage was to be seen on any floor and no smells either. So we where a bit shocked. We question them this and they said the damage was visible underneath the carpet. In the pictures provided really only looked like water spots and could've really come from ANY unit on the property. Their policy is to not clean the carpet because it can pull up the stain or smell.... ummm HUH???? Say what??? Basically they damaged their OWN carpet in order to charge us the difference. Also every time during the almost two years of living there when ever anyone moved out they pulled the carpet.... saw this happen on the same unit for 3 different occupations. They made no offer to compromise on the carpet replacement amount. We paid on time and even moved out at least one week and turned keys ahead of said move out date--- all during COVID lock down. I lived at LC for about 20 months because I wanted to remain in the area to allow my child to finish high school and LC was one of the few complexes that services the desired school. The good: - Wood floors and three stories are nice - Conveniently located near grocery stores and the freeway - Relatively modern - Residents and staff are generally friendly - The Goat is a nice place to have dinner within walking distance - Attached garages for a car or extra storage - On site workout facility wasn't huge, but enough to meet most needs The bad: - There was a persistent smell of smoke in the bedrooms. I submitted several work requests and finally gave up on getting it corrected. - This was also true with fixing blinds. I finally gave up and just did them myself - Related to item 1, my neighbors smoked cigarettes and pot on the balcony and the odor would be sucked up by the air intakes and was often noticeable in the apartment. - The three level layout is nice, but in order to keep the bedrooms from being boiling hot, I had to keep my office on the first floor freezing. I ended up buying a space heater, which significantly impacted my electric bill. - The microwave handle broke in the final few weeks and I forgot to put in a service request. I was charged $200 even though the mounting screws were fine. I wish I would have just glued the broke piece back together and grabbed a screwdriver to remount it myself - would have taken 10 minutes. - Some common external maintenance items, such as cleaning baked on dust on the AC air intake, had to be initiated by me. - Paid $50 a month for a pet fee (so around $1000 total), yet had to pay $700 in damage for carpet on a landing (15 sq feet, perhaps) and also in the office area. Not sure what the $50 a month was for (no on-site dog park and periodically dog poop bags couldnt be found in the provided areas). - The complex is close to railroad tracks and the freeway and you are exposed to the associated noise. - They advertise that part of your rent can be used to buy a house, but this is only if you go with their selected real estate agent. - Walls are thin and the enclosed nature of the buildings can lead to a lot of noise when people are partying on the balconies. - Rent payments online are often not posted until the afternoon of the first day of the month, making it impossible to do it on the morning of the 1st or the last day of the previous month. The apartment is pretty standard. The three levels was a nice way to have separation. The price is high for what you get, but probably in line with other places in Hilliard. The community was nice, though quite a bit of turnover. In retrospect, I would have picked a different place to live. read more

Well the move in process was fairly simple just over two years ago. The usual fees but most of them are non refundable. They have a preferred employer list (I think) but no government agencies or local schools are on it so neither myself or my roommate qualified. I enjoyed all of the amenities and felt the unit was priced appropriately for the size, location, and amenities offered. The reason for the two stars is due to the move out. We left the apartment in great condition, cleaned even though we paid the cleaning fee. It was COVID19 so it seemed the right thing to do. The carpet was new when we moved in and we left it in near mint condition. In fact, the only reason we were charged a replacement fee was because the LC Brooklands pulled up the carpet and "found" Pet damage underneath carpet. There were no visible stains and certainly no odor in the apartment. The LC states this is common practice for units with pets. They won't clean the carpets first because this can lift the stain or smell into the unit, so they will first pull the carpet up to look under them. WOW. They damaged their own carpet to charge us a replacement cost. Pretty awful. Especially during a time when so many can barely pay rent. Not to mention a civil servant and teacher. Definitely would not recommend this company to others - we complied and paid our fee in a timely manner. read more

Seriously the nicest apartment i've ever lived in. I always get compliments when my friends come over to visit, and with the Goat nearby and all the various community activities, entertaining is easy! I particularly enjoy taking my morning coffee on the balcony off the kitchen. The birds singing in the woods just outside my building make for an excellent way to start the day. If i had to come up with a criticism it would be that the resort style pool doesnt have a "deep end." Its more for wading around in waist deep water and less for swimming. I feel this drawback is offset by the Goat serving drinks poolside, however. LC Brooklands is where I plan to live until im ready to buy my own place. Moving anywhere else would just feel like a downgrade. read more

Moved in about 1 month ago, been really great. Simple process, clear and coherent agreement terms, Natalia is the best ever. Lot of other dog owners, which means I make a new friend almost every day. There is a train several times a day/night, but it's mostly a low rumble inside, and it doesn't.. honk?.Literally every store you need is within a 4 mile drive on the street it's on. read more

The place is a fun atmosphere and young crowd. However, seems like every month our utility bill is worse and worse. We are paying almost $400 a month to barely have AC/Heat on and we always check lights are off so I feel like we are being severely overcharged. I wish they had better upkeep for dogs though. Seems like a lot of people don't pick up after their pets. Would also be nice if they had a fenced in dog area. read more

The apartments and townhomes are great, very spacious. Also, having The Goat just a short walk away is perfect! However, I did come across some issues with the office and their systems. It seems a bit unorganized and though they always figure everything out for me it is a little stressful at times, and quite annoying with how long it often takes. This is my second year here and I love it, but I could use a little less stress sometimes. read more

My favorite apartment complex I've ever lived in, also the only one I plan on staying a second lease with. The amenities can't be beat: workout classes, pool is resort-like, The Goat, tons of year around activities. I played soccer on their Hilliard rec team. Quite honestly, this place is fantastic to live in. I've been here for 4 months, so not too long, but I'll give it a 9/10 for living. Great amenities, always a friendly and approachable staff (plus they have later office hours so you can always catch them after a 9-5 job for packages/help). The pool is fantastic (wish that you could bring your own beer, though...) and they keep the Goat/surrounding areas very clean. As for the actual apartment, the place is great. Extremely spacious and my roommate and I have had no issues with AC. We haven't tried heat yet but we're about to go into the Winter. I'll rate it again after another 6 months. read more

The LC Brooklands is a fabulous place to call home. From the quality staff (Morgan you're my girl!) to the gorgeous living space. We've been here for a little over 4 months and I have very little to complain about. The amenities were one of the major attractions we had moving here. The pool is beautiful, the gym has everything you need, the group workout classes are a great challenge but inviting and the instructors are very friendly, the technology friendly entrances for the gym, pool, etc. are very cool, and finally, the door front trash pick up is a nice perk (even if getting the trash in the VIP bag is a pain). The utility bills are reasonable for a 3 story town home (at The Chelsea Square, my previous residence, I had a bill for over $240 in January just for electric.. and we don't run the heat full blast). The rent is a little pricey but for the great service and luxury living that you receive, it is well worth it. read more
