This is a legitimate boxing gym where the trainers are focused on proper technique and improvement to become a pro boxer. Also, the workouts are high intensity and will get you into shape. Really like the owners. Terry is as good a trainer as it gets: kind and extremely knowledgeable. Corrine also knows a lot and is one of the most honest, upfront folks I've met with out being abrasive. The feel is very family, which is a great thing to have at a fighting gym. I have been a member since 2013 and have thoroughly enjoyed the experience.I have maintained my level of fitness and kept my weight and stamina to a level I haven't had since high school. I have played tennis, jogged, hiked and swam but none of these activities have come close to the challenge of this place! Terry is the best trainer my son can possibly have .He is a great motivator and loves and respects his students. I joined for a while as well and will be going back soon his training is intense but worth it gives you the stamina when trying out any other type of workouts not just boxing. lb4lb is by far the best workout ive gotten period, and ive done personal trainers, Krav Maga, Soccer you name it, the fact that you are getting to learn how to box by one of the best trainers out there aswell is extraordinary. You learn on the first day how good Terry and Meisha are at teaching you the basics but most important of all they really hammer in technique, technique, technique. Pow Pow! It is now 4 years post college... sigh.. Now to add to the fact I am getting older, I have slowly been getting fatter as well.. sigh x 2. I realized going to 24 hour isn't exactly efficient since I have to wait to use pretty much every machine and I end up not doing much at all. I drive by this place all the time and decided to stop in the other day. Spoke with Terry who talked to me about classes they offer.I also got a look around the gym. They have a couple cardio machines(treadmill, bikes, elliptical, the usual) and weights and weight lifting setups. They also have a shower which is a plus. What I really liked is it wasn't packed with people waiting 10 minutes or more to use everything. The place is also real clean which is a plus. I decided on the one on one lessons. It was pretty much exactly what I was looking for. Terry pushed me but seemed to know my limits as well.(seeing how im sorta out of shape at the moment :( ) After the workout not only was I one sweaty mofo I also learned a lot about boxing. It was really a full body workout. Needless to say I made my appointment for my second lesson right after the first. Cant wait! They also have kids classes! Everyone is so friendly and willing to help you. I love that they hold you accountable. The coaches keep you motivated and coming back for more. They teach you the correct forms so you do not hurt yourself. Although the results speak for themselves. Since starting I feel SO much better. First time trying out a single boxing class and the girl at the front desk was super helpful and walked me through the steps, although I was beginner I was able to join the 7 am class and I can say the class was amazing got a full workout and came out completely satisfied! I joined this gym a little over a year ago and it has literally changed me- not just by allowing me to lose the weight I gained when I was pregnant, (20+ lbs so far), but also by giving me a place where I have all the coaches encouraging me, and they are knowledgable about boxing and fitness- they go out of their way to treat you like a person and you feel like family; I added personal training with Myiesha, and she definitively knows what she's doing with fitness, body sculpting, and pushing you hard but not so hard that you give up; the classes and staff are simply one of a kind and this gym helps make taking care of your health a natural part of your daily life. I now look forward to going to the classes and am working on feeling that way about my personal training too lol. I have been training at LB4LB since Feb 2011 and can't say enough about the place. Terry and Corinne made me feel welcome and a part of the community from the first day I joined. What really turned me in to a 5 time a week regular was their focus on pushing me to and through my goals. I was asked what my goals were the first day I met Terry and he has helped me every day to obtain them. I have been to five different boxing gyms and each one has offered a free trail class to see if you like the gym. Lb4Lb did not, which already made me a little cautious but I decided to try a class. When I got inside I told the coach that today was my first day at this gym just to let him know. During the first 20 minutes of exercising I got called disrespectful after trying to explain myself, so I tried to just stay quiet for the rest. Later into the exercise the coach came up to me and told me I was doing it wrong, and when I was trying to ask a question I got told , "Shut up. Why are you even here...." That's a great thing to say to someone trying out your gym. A majority of the class was used to work on a drill. Other members and I had trouble hearing the coach as he was speaking pretty fast with music playing, but the blame is on me when I ask him to repeat it. The workout/class was alright, but if you are looking for a authentic boxing gym in Los Angeles I don't believe this is the place. read more

My daughter has been coming here for 3+ years now, and guess what, she can kick some serious butt! But apart from that, the discipline and the skills that she's acquired are a major bonus to the fact she's getting a great workout. She's made friends here, and it's an even playing field - no kid is made to feel left out. It's a great place to see kids all getting along and helping each other out (like 10 year old kids helping the teenagers, and teenagers helping the little kids), while working on improving their own skills. Being one of the parents coming for a while I've witnessed some pretty incredible transformations and couldn't advocate more for this place. No joke - I've seen bullied kids learn to stand up for themselves, shy kids can lead a class for the day, and some kids who need just that little extra push towards having more discipline get it.
