Established since 2010, this restaurant has fast become popular for providing a variety of cuisines in family-friendly surroundings. Lazzat is a buffet restaurant that serves Arabic, Kashmiri, Italian and Chinese cuisine, which is an odd combination that adds to its uniqueness. The buffet area is expansive with separate starters, dessert and salad counters. The main dishes surround the area with a stir fry stand at the end where a chef prepares your noodles freshly before your own eyes. Considering it's a halal restaurant, I was impressed by the range of vegetarian dishes provided. The food is a little bland for my taste buds, which means it would be universally appealing. The design has an Arabic feel to it with the emphasis on gold and grandeur. The staff are bubbly and helpful, which gives the restaurant a relaxed feel. I hadn't eaten here before but I had heard mixed reviews so I was interested in trying it out for myself. When my friend recommended we went there for her Birthday meal it was the perfect opportunity to give it a try. When we arrived we had a table reserved for 8 of us which the waitress led us to. They had put a few balloons and table decorations out which I thought was nice although this could have been down to my friends mum I'm not sure! Although the inside of the restaurant wasn't as glamorous as other venues I tend to go, the food I ordered was presented nice and I could taste a lot of additional flavourings such as basil. We ordered a few bottles of wine for the table and the waitress was always on hand to ensure our glasses were never empty and the table was always clear. When you're ready to go and help yourself to their very well taken care of ,clean and well presented buffet you get a friendly smile from the staff. You have the main dishes in a half moon against the back wall and on the island in the middle you have a variety of foods together with a separate part for your after dish. They serve Arabic, Kashmir, Chinese and Italian cuisine so there is a choice for all. The only thing is that it should be clearly stated what is not spicy, what is spicy and what is mouth burning super spicy. If you're like me looking at all the delicious things and enjoying the nice set up you can overlook the spicy notifications. And my wife and I both don't eat our food too spicy. I was worried my parents wouldn't like this. They're mega picky Arabs who really concentrate on the quality of food and place. It was better than we all expected. The food is tasty and quality. They had a range of Italian, arabic, Chinese and Pakistani food. I would say they verge more towards the Arabic and Pakistani side but it's excellent. The lasagne and sea weed were spot on taste-wise. They weren't completely accurate in the ingredients in certain cultural foods , but still tasted yummy! The mango Lassi was awesome too! Perhaps a bit thick though! Service was quick. The waiters quickly cleared our plates Everytime we refill. The manager actually came "just to say hello" which we were delighted. It wasn't just "give us your money and eat", it was like, we want to know our customers too! Great customer service. I'm going all the way back to the south west of England with smiles on my face. In short, overpriced but food is good and the place is clean. The evening buffet is £12.95 for adults which is almost the same price as somewhere like Jimmy Spices on Broad Street. For an out of town buffet restaurant with the standard of food etc that this place has, £9.95 would have been more acceptable. The first thing we noticed when we walked in, was that the place smelled like a swimming baths.....of chlorine!! Obviously they'd just mopped, but having worked in a number of restaurants, this is exactly the reason why you finish mopping before you leave on the night before or you get in well early. It took nearly an hour for the smell to subside, which as you can imagine, made eating quite unpleasant. The plus points about this place ar that it's very clean, not overcrowded (price may be the reason why) and the food is good (although lacking many arabian dishes). They're child friendly (£4.99 for kids under 9 and our 2 year old was free) and they have a wicked selection of desserts (mousse cake, triple choc fudge, ice cream, marshmallows, choc fountain, fruit salad for the health conscious, vermicelli....fabulous for sweet lovers. Staff are on hand and relatively efficient at removing dirty plates and topping up the food, most of which is actually asian. You have the curries and rices and there's an open kitchen where you can get your noodles bashed in a wok with some ingredients of choice. Italian dishes are lasagne, pasta/penne and pizza. There are also some arabic/asian dishes such as kofta and kebab. My main suggestions would be to go with an apetite and pace yourself. That way you get the most value for your money. I'd also suggest getting a jug of lassi (£4.50) or a bottle of something from them as a glass of coke is an eye popping £1.45 and with no refill either!!! All in all we left the place satisfied that we'd eaten our fill, and of relatively well tasting food that was to our liking. Never got round to the chinese so perhaps a lunchtime trip (£6.99 until 14:30) is called for there. My last and final comments are that the music needs to be changed as they had the same 6 tracks on repeat, the manager appears quite friendly and does a walk around to check everyone's happy, there's on site parking at the back of the restaurant and segregated seating is possible for those who desire it. read more

Used a Groupon voucher for 4 and went with family. Firstly tried calling to book a table but nobody picked up so went anyway. Looked nice inside but service was appauling. Nobody came to take drinks order..could only see 1 waiter. Ok amount of starters to choose from which were cold..no refills were added even though it was only 8pm. We had to verbally ask got drinks which came after 15 mins. Complained about cold starters nothing was done. Later complained to manager who said I will come and see you in abit but never came. Service is crap..better management needed as it has potential to be a good resturant. Would I go there again..NO WAY not in it's present state. read more

There were two of us who went for lunch, the place was nicely decorated infact really nice, the colour scheme very neutral. inside however cold maybe they didnt put the heating on. The waiter took his time to come over and seat us, eventually seating us and asking for our drinks. Just to point out they dont do a pint of coke for some reason, which is odd. Instead we settled for 2 small cokes. Being new customers it wouldve been nice if the waiter had asked if we were new, however no explanation so we had to go up without being told. The food was not very hot (temperature wise) which is a shame, when we came all the food was everywhere, when you lifted some of the dishes there was nothing. No labels either so you didnt know what exactly you was putting on the plate, not good if you are vegetarian or have allergies. I couldnt see any chinese dishes apart from the live cooking station were the chef was missing. Also no arabian cuisine either, which ive taken a liking to. Italian you had lasagna, c&t pizza and some good salads, which my friend liked. As i do i did my toilet check the toilets were clean however the decor was not complete.Am i not right in saying if you do a job atleast finish it? The owner was freindly and talkative which is nice and of course it make the meal pleasent. The bad thing was the end of the meal when paying the bill, i wanted to pay by card but they said they had no card machine as they were new, were is the sign? However the manager was apologetic, which made up. In conclusion, I think its a mistake a lot of multi buffet restaurants have made which is try to do too many variants of cuisine, there was a lack of chinese,arabian and italian however a fair amount of indian/kashmiri dishes. Just visited this much talked buffet restaurant with my family on Monday knowing that it would be a quite day to my surprise I found it to be busy and y not they got lots of variety of food from Asian to Italian food loved the chille chicken. Namkeen Gosh. And yes there lazania is the one I never tasted so good it was simply awesome.. A must try dish. There rashmee Kabbab was just right and hot from the tandoor.. Had a chance to meet the Director who was very polite and welcoming and was easy to talk to Mr Yousaf. Loved the experience Lazzat will be there soon.. read more

Went there tonight, at an exceptionally busy time ( Muslims opening their fast ). Plus points: Excellent variety of food Clean Staff polite. Negative : kept running out of plates ( will have to forgive on that one, as it was VERRRRYYY busy!) NO CREDIT CARD MACHINE!!!!! This was particularly annoying! Overall though, a pleasant experience. I hope they keep it up, as prior to Ramadhan I'd heard some bad reviews from friends. read more
