One of the best road trip meals I've ever had. You can tell they pay great attention to detail here. Dang this place was great! Both burger and sandwich were delicious, just the flavor of the burger was wonderful- fresh ingredients, big ol slabs of bacon, amazing bun- and you know how some places, the burger will be great but the fries are lame? Not so at this establishment! The fries were perfectly cooked and tasted amazing. I am not a big eater, so I almost never manage to finish a burger- but I gobbled this thing up! And it was a big burger. Just so tasty! We snuck in right before closing (8pm) as we were passing through town, the woman who served us was happy to help us and was super friendly. Excellent BBQ in Alturas!! The service was friendly and prompt, the food was mouthwatering delicious. We had the special burger of the day that had bacon and brisket with their homemade habanero sauce--perfect! We also had the pulled pork fries--so good! We have a new craving. Can't wait to return. My husband and I each had the pulled pork tacos and they were very tender and had great flavor. We had the habanero sauce on the side and it added just enough heat without taking away from the flavor of the pork. read more

If I could add more stars I would. Anyone looking for great burgers/bbq in Alturas, look no further. The lady up front was nice and informative. There was another guy in the back working the grill and I'm pretty sure they are a husband and wife duo. Looking through the menu, they had some very delicious sounding options. However, I went with their Daily Special. Today it was the "trash burger". It's a 1/3 pound burger, American cheese, brisket, tri-tip, pork candy, French fries, and I believe an onion ring if I'm not mistaken. The burger was great. I couldn't finish it all because it is quite big but I've got some great leftovers now. She also had a great beer recommendation. Probably my fav beer rn. I could go on but I'm gonna stop now. Here in Alturas, there are few restaurants for lunch. I highly recommend Lazy B for their wonderful hamburgers. My favorite is the Western Bacon Cheeseburger. Damn good burger!!!! So happy someone in town wasn't taking credit cards... Took a chance and went over again after being there last summer after we moved here and these burgers are to die for!!
