I don't know what all the bad reviews are about. I have been coming here for years and I have never had a bad experience. Well, I have had a couple of shots that hurt but I can't blame the staff for that. I have been here for vaccines, physicals, and the family clinic for insta-care. I have even been here twice for a work med issue. Not me personally. I was the driver for a co-worker. I have never had to wait very long for any service. Every staff member I have encountered was polite, efficient and very helpful. I understand the billing problem but it's an IHC problem system wide. You can thank the previous CEO for that. I heard that he moved the billing dept. from IHC and outsourced to a company out of state that does not do a very good job with billing in a timely manner. I think they need to move it back to Utah. I came here to do an annual physical in the workmed section. Where do I begin I arrived to my appointment 30 min early, which was at 0930. I thought this would be early enough to where I wouldn't have to worry about waiting. Well I was wrong about that it is currently 1005 and no one has seen me yet. I've seen 2 people jump me in line and get seen before me. I mean Ive had to wait at other places before but this place is literally empty. So if you want to waste half your morning on waiting to get seen. Come to this place extra early to fill up your paper work and wait for about an hour or two. I can hear everyone behind the door just talking so maybe theres a party today or something. Thanks intermountain workmed. Came here with 100% battery and down to 60% just waiting, so bring a charger or maybe a book. read more

Layton Clinic - Medical Centers Near Me - Layton, Utah

I never thought I would give an urgent care medical place a 5 star rating. Believe it or not I had a pretty amazing experience coming here. I was having issues with my asthma shortly after moving to Utah. The only reason I went to this location was because I drove right next to it on my way to work on the 15 freeway. In California if I went to an "urgent care" type place I would wait an hour or two just to see a doctor and half the time once you see that doctor my issue of my asthma is not exactly the biggest worry on their plate. They would usually write me a prescription with a refill or two and send me on my way. Forgot to tell you I had no insurance...so I can not spend all my money going to see doctors. I went after work one day to get a prescription for my rescue inhaler since I was almost out. I filled out some paperwork and maybe waited 15 minutes total before I was called in. I went through all the regular nurse-type stuff of getting my blood pressure, temperature, and vitals. Seriously 5 minutes later I am visited by a doctor. The doctor talks to me about my health conditions and my asthma in general. I explain that I just have been using my inhaler more than usual since we moved to a higher elevation. He then spends all this time measuring the way I breathe. I really did not understand why he would not just fill my rescue inhaler prescription and send me on my way. I was using it about once a day at the time and when I explained this to the doctor he went on to ask if anyone had ever thought about actually treating my asthma so I did not have to use my rescue inhaler as much. Woah. I come to the InstaCare just to get my prescription filled and all of a sudden the doctor is all concerned about treating the actual problem...not just the symptom. That is something I was really not expecting. The doctor ended up prescribing me my rescue inhaler like usual but also prescribed me a daily controller inhaler. I was a little concerned about taking something daily but he explained that it would be much better on my system than taking my rescue inhaler daily. He was very helpful in answering all my questions that I threw at him. I filled both prescriptions (he gave me 12 refills for the daily one to last me a year) and started taking my new asthma medication. Here we are over a year later and my asthma is under control...I use my rescue inhaler maybe once every week or two. An awesome improvement. All of this from an urgent care visit. A visit that took maybe 30-45 minutes total. Only in Utah. :0) read more

If you're having second thoughts on going to the doctor, don't waste your time and money coming here. We went here to see if we could get some help. The place was almost completely empty and we had to wait almost an hour and a half to get examined and it was very expensive to come visit. When I got examined, the doctor kept on mentioning things that did not pertain to my visit. When we made a request to try a certain medication, he dismissed it and kept on insisting on his original recommendation. Total waste of money and time. read more

Upon arriving to the workmed desk, the lady at the front was smacking away on her gum very loud. She told me I didn't have an appointment and sent me to the family health insurance desk and I was just as confused as they where as to why she sent me there. One of the clerks from that desk assisted me and told the workmed lady that she had made a mistake, we actually waited to talk to her while she was talking personal information on the phone... Bad experience here and i sat waiting way longer than expected. The two people there were very rude! read more

HORRIBLE with billing, they never have the billing software up supposedly to take payment so you get stuck with a fat bill months down the road when they finally figure out what they should've billed the last 10 visits. Even when the nurse took my payment it didn't show in their system, why is a nurse handling billing in the first place??? Do the people at the front desk do anything?? Also you'll be surprised when they don't check with your insurance at all to see whats covered and just stick you with a fat bill instead of a co pay for things like blood work etc They need to be upfront with charges before you walk in to see the dr and take the payment and provide a receipt like every other dr office I've ever been to, I've never seen anything like this from any business!!! read more

Nice facility but horrible management when it comes to the Urgent Care. They deceive you with an empty waiting room but they are really packing everyone in the back waiting in exam rooms. We had a nice 15 minute wait in the empty lobby but an hour and a half wait in the room. Deceptive tactics are not cool. read more

Worst experience ever. Quoted time was 30 mins. I sat there in the waiting room for over an hour with my daughter. I watched as multiple people went before me. Then when someone asked why they were skipped the front desk people said that the others were call aheads. Which I get. But then they called them - a walk in- before my daughter. When I went up to the desk to complain she ignored me first. Then finally glanced up to say 'oh you are next'. When I commented on the people that went before us she said they were call aheads. Which I know they weren't. They just complained before me. At that point I decided to take my daughter else where. When I asked the front desk for a refund on my co pay she huffed like I was an inconvenience. Never again. read more

If I could give a negative star rating I would! After slicing a 3 inch cut across the top of my hand I went to Intermountain to have it taken care of. As I bled everywhere I was told to wait in the front lobby. I wasn't offered a bandage or towel or anything. I waited in the lobby for over 30 minutes without being seen, on top of that I was billed for the time I sat and waited. When I was finally sent back to get 8 stitches, it was an intern or student that did it. The entire time he was shaking like Michael J Fox. I'll never go back to this dysfunctional place! read more

Got ear infection it was a visit today. Check in at the urgent care the untrained employee who took my insurance . Had to asked another person if my insurance would be accepted or not. I got blue cross ppo then the way that other staff explain it felt like she was saying that they don't accept blue cross blue shield ppo. These front recipient are not proper trained hick they almost miss lead me the way she explained they don't accept my insurance and have other people cut in front of me . They even made me wait for over an hour the doctor was good. read more

I had an appointment with Dr. Foss. When I called the soonest I could get in was a month and a half away. I had taken off work to come in, drove 30 minutes, and unfortunately got there about 10 minutes late and was told I was considered a "no show" and would have to reschedule. So this appointment ended up costing me a day's pay, gas money, and a no show fee and I would have to wait another few weeks before getting to see the doctor. Needless to say, I'll be taking my business elsewhere. read more

I got in and with a nurse in less than 10 minuets of walking in into the Layton intermountain instacare. The nurse was friendly, the staff at the front desk was friendly. I got to see a doctor in less than 20 minuets. He prescribed me my stuff and I was in and out in literally 28 minuets. I am so happy about this experience. The doctor was nice and made sure I was taken care of. read more

I have serious concerns about the poor processes with the billing here. I have been sent a bill for $1600 three times now. Initially, the bill was $27,000 because Intermountain was not capable of inputting correct names. It is horrifying to think that I was treated at an institution that is unable to properly process a bill. Consider myself as Jane Doe, my husband John Smith. We have a boy Tom Smith. For whatever reason, "Baby Doe" became his name... on everything! We properly filled out all paperwork, birth certificate, etc prior to leaving. But for some reason, "Baby Doe" gets billed $27k because he is NOT a person! So despite properly enrolling our coordination of benefits, "Baby Doe" gets this exciting bill. When we finally discuss that the child was indeed named as Tom Smith (send in birth certificate, everything that was already done!) it appears that coordinating benefits is incredibly difficult. Turns out, father's name was misspelled from John Smith to John Vmith. So as a new, tired mother, I am getting all these bills and have the joy of calling in on a bi-weekly basis just to hear "please disregard this new bill, we will get it fixed." I am absolutely mortified that I had any medical procedures done here as the very simplest of matters seem to be incredibly impossible. Additionally, I can't help but wonder what poor saps end up just paying $1600 for the bills to go away. Talk about a money-making scheme. read more

I took my baby daughter in to this instacare for help, baby #6. I knew she had RSV by her conditions. They took a culture and told us that they would get back to us with the results THAT NIGHT so that we could start proper treatment. My baby could barely breath. we didn't hear from them EVER. We called the office the next morning and they said someone would contact us. 30 hours later, by baby stopped breathing all together. We had to rush her to Primary children's by ambulance. She had to be resuscitated and intubated for two weeks. They said it could have been avoided with proper earlier treatment. I will never go there again. read more

My husband went to see Dr. Carla Olsen for a work related injury. He told me that she was extremely rude and made it sound like he should just heal.. So I went with him to his next appointment. Luckily, Dr. Olsen wasn't there and a Dr. from Salt Lake was filling in. She ordered an ultrasound which showed that my husband needed surgery. On the third appointment (with Dr. Olsen) she came in and asked my husband if he was feeling better. When I told her he had an ultrasound she was obviously angry and said she would go look at it. She literally SLAMMED the door to the waiting room. We were there for over three hours for that appointment and there were only two people ahead of us. She finally came back in and told us that she would refer him to a surgeon. However, she couldn't say the injury was from work (ridiculous)! She told us to wait 10 days for Workman's Comp to approve it. About nine days later I called and found out that she didn't even send in any paperwork to anyone. When my husband finally saw a surgeon he said that the injury was from work and he doesn't understand why it is so hard to figure out. Dr. Olsen was unprofessional and according to her actions doesn't really care about her patient's well being. I would give a negative amount of stars for her, but it won't let me post if I do! One a side note, the receptionist at the desk was very nice and helpful. read more
