Pretty good inventory, however unorganized but only one staff member was of any kind of help in knowing where things were or available. Service is pretty funky! read more

You can't beat the prices. I have been going there since 2003. Customer Service is great as well

*Updated Review* Since the Beltsville location opened I've felt no need to come to this one until recently! I love the new, limited Pomegranate Ciroc but it's hard to find!! I called ahead and they had it here and for $23/bottle, totally worth it. I rushed over here and grabbed a few bottles! Woot! This area isn't the nicest looking but it was worth the trip! read more

They have the best price in town. Selection is pretty good, and often they have allocated bottles at no markup.

Everyone Loves LAX! Their life mission is to get you in & out. Excellent customer service, as they will let you know what's trending & getting good feedback, and what will get you the best buck for your bang. They also have drink samples sometimes during the afternoon time. Bargain wise there is no competition, as they have the best prices in the D.M.V. Even compared to all the wholesale retailers (Costco, BJS, Sam's etc.) The area is a bit sketchy, as it's in the heart of the hood. Advice for out of towners: mind yours & stick to the task at hand & you'll be straight!! Parking is tight, especially at night & even worse on the weekends. So my suggestion is that you do your haul earlier in the day! read more

This store has a great selection and very good prices. The employees are generally professional and polite. Parking is limited and pedestrians & drivers in the area don't always pay attention. The area is a bit sketchy, but I've never had an issue there. Overall, it's worth a visit. read more

Purchased a $55 bottle of Buffalo Trace Whiskey that was already opened when I got home. Upon calling and speaking directly to Lax the owner, he tells me that they have camera footage that the bottle was sealed when they sold it and there is nothing they can do about it. #1 - They expect me to believe they have cameras with good enough resolution that they can zoom in to see a bottles seal? The guy over the phone tells me, "you opened the bottle drank some and want to return it", yet the bottle is still full and I am just concerned for my safety to drink from a pre-opened bottle. Be wary of shopping here!! read more

Store was well stocked & I was able to find a few rare finds of whiskey & bourbon. Example: I had been looking for Sir Davis for a few months & LAX had it. read more

Great prices and great service. They have pretty much every wine and liquor you desire.

DC does not have an ABC, so I guess this is an alternative. Plenty of options for spirits, beer, and mixers. Not a wide variety of wine. We stopped by here to prepare for New Year's Eve. Quite, hectic and crowded. Customer service was pretty much non-existent. Nobody asked if we needed anything. Floor needed to be mopped. Ok, I suppose. read more

Lax Wine & Spirits - Beer, Wine & Spirits Near Me - Washington, DC, District of Columbia

Yes Lax has the best prices ever!! Very spacious and clean. The nice lady working there was very nice.

My mom went in for one thing, came out with a gentleman loading up my trunk. Good customer service and prices.

Been here a couple times but it's like most places that cater to blacks, they are rude and just trying to get you to get in and out. They rush you when you are looking at the liquor like you HAD to know what you wanted to enter the store. They have a great selection and pricing is awesome but I'd I'm spending my money...a little respect would be appreciated and not treating me like I'm annoying you by looking or asking questions. They have things you can't find anywhere else in the city and you want to support but the attitudes need to change. read more

Best prices and great variety of liquors and spirits in the Washington DC . Parking is limited and bets to go before 8pm .

Parking it's difficult because it shares a lot with several other places but it is worth it! Know what you want before you go in with their inventory online with prices included read more

They have the best prices in in the DMV hands down. Sometimes you have to wait in line but it's worth it considering the prices. Always security which helps out a lot read more

You may have to wait sometimes... but they have the BEST prices in the DMV! There's always a great discounted selection as well!

Great prices and customer service in the DC store. You might want to get their early because parking is tight.

The price is right here! I purchased 3 750 ml bottles of Ciroc and two 750 ml of Patron came up to $167. The Patron was $10 cheaper than at most liquor stores. read more

Best prices in town, I am so happy they renovated and tore the old joint down. Plus I can keep my money in D.C. and avoid dirty 51. Only con is on popular holidays, parking lot be looking like the go-go let out. lol Always security, sometimes MPD. Lines are long, but they have a rack of cashiers. read more

Called to ask a question about store picks and nobody knew would answer. Told me they have EVERYTHING and to come down. I asked about a specific store pick again and was told hold on.....well it has been 2 days and I am still holding. Called the Md store and VM stated leave a message. Guess what...no return call, very disappointing as I I've previously had decent experiences here. Obviously ownership is not paying attention. read more

The location is a tad scary but you cannot beat the prices. (I was in & out! ) I am not a fan of patronizing establishments where 1/2 of the inventory is hidden behind a counter but when I'm saving $10.00 to $15.00 on a particular brand, I may make an exception. ‍ read more

Lax has the best prices around! The store is clean, there's always security or MPD and plenty of cashiers. I've always had a smooth experience coming here. On certain days it can get a bit crowded in the parking lot. I usually come right after work and it isn't so bad. Lines in the store may also be long, however the cashiers are fast and like I said, the prices are great so it is worth the wait! If you live in Maryland or Virginia, take the drive you won't be disappointed. read more

I always found what I need here and the prices are the best in the area. It's my favorite local liquor store. Great variety!

Best prices in the DMV! Gets crowded at times but the friendly staff work hard to get you in and out as fast as possible.

The only place I will shop to stock my bar. Yes they pretty much always packed especially when there having a crazy sale but there's never a long wait. They have EVERYTHING and the price's CAN NOT be beat by any local's read more

Just tried their new Beltsville location (they apparently took over Old Line that was in the same location) - the clerk's were moving about with their masks pulled down, passing close to customers. One called me to the register as she was returning - I pointed to my mask and she said she'd have her's on when I stepped up. Then she scanned my ID; probably store policy, but I don't need their POS System capturing my info. The law says they have to confirm my age, but nothing about capturing that info. Maybe it's benign, but I have no way of knowing. The cap-off was the reduced selection of wine. I gave it a try, but won't be going back. read more

Courteous, efficient, and the best damn prices in town. Don't be a sucker, come venture to our neck of the woods.

This place has everything in stock as soon as an item is released. It is in a urban area and its very popular. There's always security at the door which makes me personally feel a little more safe. Its always a quick in and out buy when you purchase from here. read more

Pros: Best priced liquors in the area. Plentiful selection. Newly renovated with expansion planned to start January 2015. Monthly special events with complimentary food and sampling of liquors. Cons: Extremely crowded both in the parking lot and in store. read more

This place is amazing. Great prices, awesome customer service and overall. The selection is unlimited as well and they have plenty of security for the interesting demographic. read more

LOVE THE STORE AND THE SELECTIONS ARE GREAT! MY ISSUE IS WHY DON'T THEY ANSWER THEIR PHONES??? I live in Anne Arundel county and drive that far to find out if they have something when I could call and go QUICKER (smile)....answer your phones so you can get those out of the area folk to keep coming read more

4 star rating "Yay! I'm a fan" because they have everything and prices are reasonable. the only reason i wouldn't give them a five is because of location. its a little sketchy and they have a security guard in the front. as a female, i just wouldn't go at night. other than that you should definitely give this place a try. read more

I love this place I went for the first time after hearing so much about it. They were very customer service friendly, and they had exactly what I was looking for. I tried to find these limited edition items at other stores and they did not have it. I tried all of the major retailers, and could not find it, but, this store had it. Yes, it's in a urban, pretentious area, but, sometimes you have to slum to get good stuff. This place totally beats 51, where u go and gotta do your transaction through a bulletproof windows lol, and you better be happy if you make it out alive, LOL. Lax, totally rocks. I don't mind the security at all, at least I know if something jumps off I'm protected. If you're afraid or security, most likely that means you have stuff up your sleeve. read more

Cheapest spot on this side of the DMV! Very urban, but inexpensive especially if you are having a shindig with BBQ and family and friends!

It's great customer service but the New Mexican lady or girl I'm sure she's old but she have to go every since I came there she got a attitude with me I haven't did ANYTHING to her please check her she's mean and weird but everybody else is really nice and cool specially the owner read more

all of the above what folks say might be true , but not senior friendly. i found them to have a don't give a dam if we have your business or not and please go away, plus they look at you like a deer in headlights. they were much more senior friendly with the old owners. (love going there then, not so much any more. read more
