Enterprise is located in section B of the new LAX Rental Car Center and on the 3rd floor when you…read moreare returning your vehicle. I use the Enterprise app to confirm my pick up, check in, and add a payment method before I hop on my flight. I skip the counter and go straight to the parking lot. I usually do my pick up early in the morning so there's no line but I've also been here where no one was in the lot and so I walked over to National to get help only to be sent back to the Enterprise lot. The staff looks at my phone with the reservation and then tells me which aisle to go for that type of vehicle and the keys are inside. There's not much service they offer. By the exit, have your information/cards ready to show the attendant. For my return, it was quick and smooth. I like they always ask me how the vehicle was and I'm honest. If there's trash, I will tell them some candy wrappers were under the passenger seat and I tossed it so I would not be charge a fee. This past rental, the vehicle had an odd and bad smell. I did not notice it till the AC was on and windows were up. I told Mel about it and she made sure they would address it in the cleaning. As I was checking in at the airport, Adam, did a follow up regarding the cleanliness of the vehicle so I really appreciate that. I've been a long time customer of Enterprise and even though they can be a bit more expensive than other rental companies, I will still go with them because they have good service and they treat me nice.

I had a really disappointing experience with this Enterprise location. The entire situation felt…read moremisleading, and I ended up losing about $110 because of how the Fuel Service Option was explained to me. At pickup, I was simply asked if I wanted the fuel option. The employee did not explain that I was prepaying for the entire tank regardless of how much fuel I actually used, or that unused fuel would not be prorated or refunded. Because this was never explained, I filled the tank myself before returning the vehicle. Had they clearly explained how the program worked, I obviously would not have spent additional money filling up a tank I had already prepaid for. When I raised the issue afterward, there was essentially no accountability for the fact that the option was not properly explained. Instead, I was left paying for the prepaid fuel AND the gas I personally put into the vehicle. There were other issues as well. They advertise their vehicles as newer models, but the van I received was clearly an older model and did not match that expectation. Even worse, there were ants inside the vehicle. Between the ants, the older vehicle, the misleading explanation of the fuel option, and the complete lack of accountability afterward, I would not rent from this location again. I feel like I was essentially scammed out of $110 because important information about what I was purchasing was never communicated to me.

The drive from the airport to the rental facility takes around 10 minutes, although keep in mind…read morethat LAX traffic can make the return journey longer. The facility itself looks quite new and modern. Once you arrive, you need to go up to the 5th floor following the signs to the rental counter. It's a bit of a walk from where the shuttle drops you off, so keep that in mind if you're traveling with luggage. There are both elevators and escalators available. Once I reached the counter and was helped, the actual rental process took less than five minutes. One thing to be aware of is that the rental clock starts when you sign the contract, but you then have to go all the way back down to the 1st floor to pick up your car, which takes additional time. Almost 20/30 minutes of people in line waiting to get a car. Drop-off was incredibly easy. Just follow the Budget signs, and attendants guide you through the process. You simply leave the keys in a little basket inside the car, and cameras scan the car as you drive in. I'm still impressed by how they somehow knew the car had been returned with the correct fuel level and without any new damage. The rental time stops as you drive into the return area, which takes away some of the stress if you're cutting it close to your scheduled return time. The free shuttle back to LAX takes around 10-15 minutes, but allow extra time for traffic. The shuttle operates on the lower level only, which is the Arrivals level--the same level where you'll be picked up when arriving at LAX. There are plenty of shuttles going back and forth.

As a Budget Fastbreak member, I expect to have my car ready when I get a text message saying to go…read moreto zone 3 to pick up my car. This time it was an utter fail experience. First - only one car in zone three, another couple was trying to get that vehicle but there was no key. Usually there's a staff person outside who can point you to the right area and this person had just walked by us earlier without the usual friendly hello. I hunted him down and he simply said I should go inside. Got into the fastbreak lane and it took over 30 minutes to be serviced when there was only one person in front of me! First, no one was at the counter. When someone finally arrived, he took the lady in front of me and it was a long conversation of some kind. He left and came back with a key and there was another long convo. Then he left and I waited and waited and there was no one at the counter... after an eternity a lady asked for next person in line. I explained there was no key in the car and she responded with "I gotcha." Took my license, did something in the computer, and left without another word! Finally came back with a Mazda key, told me the case was row P, and that was that. No apology for my car not being ready as per the Fastbreak text message, no apology for the long wait, nothing. She didn't even tell me which stall the car was in, just to press the key fob to find my car! (At least the guy before had told the lady which stall her car was in - I actually did overheard "P and a number") Got to the car and it was soaking wet. Opened the hatch and had water dripping down on us. I've rented from other rental companies at LAX and have never had this kind of dismal service. They seemed short staffed but an explanation and apology would have helped. I posted a review on Google since counters had a QR code to leave a review and got a response by email. It said to click on link to read the full email and I could tell it said they wanted to better understand the situation. BUT THE LINK DIDN'T WORK! The email was from a"no reply " address so I couldn't follow up... HMMM

I get that people write about negative experiences more than positive ones, but also think "credit…read morewhere due", and I had no issues with my recent $273 9-day rental (that even through Costco, budget quoted me $550). Shuttle took a long time and was smelly, so my main pro tip is: take ANY shuttle, because they all go to the same place. Price was good and upcharges were avoidable. I was prepared to defend against aggressive upselling but found the process firm but reasonable (because I'm not a fool, I of course declined insurance, their transponder for tool roads (I had no tolls on my 9 days). The Nissan Versa Car was not great (lacked CarPlay, which is pretty essential, and struggled on uphill drives), but was acceptable, for the price. If I'd reserved a better car this would've been avoided, but I always get the cheapest one in hopes of a free upgrade (this is the first time they had the exact car I'd reserved). Next time I'll also get a quote from Sixt, which was adjacent, and seemed to have a lot of nice BMWs, and like Fox is less known.

I will never use Fox again. They have a number of sneaky fees so if you use, get a printed contract…read morebefore signing. You may be in a rush like I was and they'll take advantage. I signed on a tablet and they didn't explain anything that was signed. What was supposed to be a $200 ish rental turned into over $600 because of sneaky tactics by the rep. Disputed it with credit card company and was denied because I signed. I'm partly to blame but deep transparency by the company at signing and zero empathy when calling to describe the bind it put me in. I verbally denied any insurance and thought I was signing according to that but they have sneaky tactics to way overcharge. Get a printed contract if you use them. Better yet, use someone else. Terrible experience and I'll never go back
