I think the receptionist is prejudice against Afro-Americans. I will never return to Dr Blackmon for my dental work. I think the receptionist's name is Donna. She seems to only care about the finances and after want you to pay with your credit cards. So I found a new dental office which I will have my dental work completed. Office visit 01/30/2018 My experience was wonderful! I hadn't visited the dentist in about 3 years. My prior experiences with a couple of dental offices, corporate chains, were not positive, so I had been procrastinating about going to the dentist. Not that I am terrified of dental procedures, it's that, the dental procedures that I had, I think, were unnecessary and quite expensive even with great dental insurance. It was about the "dollar" and not about good dental health, at other dental offices. I didn't encounter that at all at Dr. Blackmon's office. Dr. Blackmon was friendly, personable, approachable, but, professional. He gave me his professional summary of my dental health, which was very surprising to me but very pleasing. No cavities, and no dental work needed. I thought for sure after NOT seeing a dentist in 3 years something would surely be amiss! And, for a 64 year old, he, probably could have sold me on something. Dr. Blackmon didn't try to sale me on any unnecessary procedure. He was polite and honest!! Hopefully, I will be in good dental health for a long time, however, if Dr. Blackmon ever recommends a procedure to me in the future, I will "trust" that it is definitely needed. Dr. Blackmon cares about the people and always recommends the best type of treatment. He could have easily recommended cosmetic treatment for me to have the smile I wanted which would have cost me lots of $$$$$ however he referred me to one of the orthodontist he works with and preferred that I discuss treatment with them before we explored other options.
