Think of this place less as a repair shop and more as a long-term storage facility for your broken tools. I dropped off my chainsaw for a simple tune-up, but the timeline quickly spiraled: first it was a week for an ignition coil, then another week, and finally after a full month of waiting, I got it back unfixed. Actually, check that: I got it back in worse condition because they managed to lose the chain, too. I have been working with Lawnmower Center for more than a decade. This is a lawnmower pro shop, not a hardware store. They are all about professional business and always conduct professionally. I have never had a bad experience with this business because I treat them with equal respect. They are an honest shop and stand by their work. All used parts are bagged and tagged to the equipment to show they have been replaced. I read some really ridiculous negative comments. This is not a place for the faint at heart or Soccer Mom's to hang out. They are not interested in your life's drama. If you plan to do business with them, show some respect and professionalism will be returned. This is a very friendly company to work with, who will often refer to their customers by name. Dropped weed eater off Monday for tune up. They said done by Friday. I just picked it up a week and a half later. The quoted me price of $150 or less. I get there and they want $175. They replaced primer that I replaced right before I took it to them. Very disappointed with this business and the way they do business. read more

I purchased an Echo string trimmer, after running it a few times I noticed fuel oil mix coming out of the muffler, I was advised to let the engine break in and the problem should go away. After using it further the concern did not go away. I was told I must be using the right gas and oil mix. I explained that I'm running the same mix in 3 other Echo products that I own with no problems, I was then told to try a different oil which I did with no change to the problem. Oil fuel mix builds up and runs done from the muffler. I then brought the trimmer in for them to check, after 2 weeks with no call back as to what was happening I called and was told nothing was wrong. I went to pick up the trimmer and was told that I was supposed to run the trimmer at full throttle all the time and that was the problem. i went home and tried that several times and still had oil fuel mix out the exhaust. so I don't think they ever tried this to see if it would help. I gave up on this trimmer, went to another dealer bought another trimmer, no oil mix out exhaust and don't have to run at full throttle. customer service is very poor, this trimmer was under warranty but can't get them to fix it. read more

I was told people are working slow to come back in another hour or next week. They did not seemed concerned for my time. Maybe a discount on the repair would be appropriate. We brought our Tru Cut reel mower in to be serviced at this store because we pass by it on our way to AYSO soccer all the time. The owner was friendly, quoted us a price and kept to it. The mower came back looking almost new - cleaned up and running great! The only complaint is that it took a few days longer than promised, but we are definitely going back to this company to have our mower serviced in the future. read more

A very knowledgeable person, Sam, assisted me in answering questions about various gardening equipment and which ones would get me the most bang for the buck. There was much selection within the store from which to choose as well as plenty of "commercial" customers in and out of the place getting work done on their equipment. I saw this as a positive because if the guys that do lawn care for a living frequent this place, there must be a good reason. I truly enjoyed that they did not have bottom of the barrel equipment as it demonstrated they only dealt in premium equipment and brands. With that being said, the prices on most of their mowers corresponded perfectly with the prices on product review sites, such as Consumer Reports. All in all, this is a place that I would feel comfortable doing business and bringing my own lawn equipment in for repairs. P.S. This place freakin` SUCKS ! The prices are jacked up and the service is HORRIBLE the old asian guy has freakin` issues. He's so rude and hes not even willing to help you. When you talk to him it feels like hes attacking you with words. When me and my brother were there we said we needed two different parts for two different mowers we had and then my brother said just forget the other one just get the part for this mower because its more important. I am a Commercial Lawn Care Company Owner who lives in Beaumont CA, and I have other dealers and mechanics who can handle my equipment - who are closer - Beaumont Lawn Mower - 625 Magnolia Ave Beaumont, CA 92223 - and I chose to use the Lawn Mower Center because of their customer service. It is second to none, Paul and Sam ARE THE BEST! My only concern with them is their reluctance to incorporate additional manufacturers; I currently own Torro and Worldlawn Mowers, I also own both Echo and Stihl equipment, and would like to have the option of having Exmark, Wright, or BadBoy equipment. Sales Reps listen, your market is more substantial, and the only thing stopping its growth is the availability of mechanics available to make the future work and maintenance done a possibility. I would rate this business (Lawnmower Center, (D & Y Lee, Inc.), Riverside, CA) ZERO STARS if it were possible to do so. Our lawnmower stopped working and we couldn't afford to buy a new one, so we took it in last Friday for a "Free Estimate" as advertised. We also mentioned that we might want to have the blade sharpened (we needed to see how much the repairs would be first). He told us that he would call with the estimate by the following Wednesday. He never called, so we called him. He said that he had ALREADY DONE the repairs (which were more than we could afford) and that he had ALSO put on a NEW ($25) BLADE! We explained that we were short on funds and that was the reason why we needed an estimate BEFORE he did the repairs. We needed to determine if it was doable now or if we had to wait until later. He became EXTREMELY RUDE and said he has never had a problem in all his years of business, which further research has shown is definitely not true. I know it's hard to believe under the circumstances, but my husband was being very polite throughout his dealings with him. We're crossing our fingers that he doesn't do something else to our lawnmower. I suggest listening to Yahoo reviewer, "Donald" and take your equipment to "Lawn Tech" on Van Buren in Riverside instead. read more
