I signed up for weekly service. My first servicer, Joshua, no call/no showed for the second service on Monday. The second servicer, John, confirmed service for today, and also no call/no showed. My lawn is rapidly growing due to the rain, and I in no way want to pay additional fees, when your company has failed to show up twice. This company has hidden fees! They quoted my entire lawn and then mowed less than 1/3. Then I was billed twice. I understood my lawn in back was over their 6" rule. But my front and sides were within the limits. I texted them, the only way to get in touch, to tell them about the missed area. Two weeks later they resent the crew to cut the grass. I ended up using a different lawn service for the back. Here's the best part, they charged me for the lawn being too long but didn't cut it--ever. I had to use someone else. Complete Ripoff: LawnGuru a Landscape services that I used for 24 months (starting May 2024) and I always ordered my lawn services every 30 days. For 2026 my 1st grass cut was ordered and completed on May 11th. Then on June 11th 2026 the 2nd service was done for this year and was paid and no problems left feedback for landscaper he sent me the pics on the LawnGuru app and no mention of any "Overgrown Grass" I also leave tips. On June 18th, 2026 I received an email from LawnGuru that claimed that " the grass was over 6 inches on June 11th 2026 therefore they will charge me an "Overgrown Grass Fee". As a vendor, you cannot charge me after the fact on something that I did not agree/authorize services on, if indeed LawnGuru made that claim that day on June 11th I would of canceled the grass cut services all together. When I contacted LawnGuru on why they emailed me 7 days After the June 11th grass cut service to tell me my grass was over 6 inches the answer was " they were too busy" Really? I received an email that someone named Zacarias accepted my job for a one time mowing. He arrived but never came to the front door. I saw him walk around and take a look then he left. Shortly after I received another email that said "Your Provider Zacarias has released your One-Time Mowing job" which means he refused the job. I checked my bank account and saw my credit card was charged $50.23 which fortunately was reversed by my bank. A scam you have to pay in advance. I signed up for biweekly service and ended up with HOA violations because my grass wasn't being cut like it was supposed to. I've been calling every day for the last two weeks and can't get a single call back. I was told I was under "ASAP" status and that someone would come out immediately--nobody ever showed up. On top of that, the times they did show up, the tools they used left my grass looking patchy, uneven, and raggedy. It looked worse than before they touched it. BAIT AND SWITCH. Created an account on their website and was quoted $34.65 on February 5th, in which I agreed to and entered my credit card information. On March 12th, I logged in to begin service and my quote jumped 152% to $52.84!!!? (I'm glad I took screen shots...) Their response? "After the billing team reviewed costs and demand, we had to make a significant price increase this year to keep up with rising gas and labor expenses while maintaining our quality! This also applies to existing customers we already have" So Lawn Guru raised ALL of their customers in my area by 152%? Talk about a mass exodus. I feel like I dodged a bullet! My lawnmower broke down and I needed a small area of about 20×20 (approximately) cut spread out amongst 3 sections of my yard. So I called these guys. The lady I spoke with told me that she would look at at satellite image of my property and quote me. She then sent me the image of the entire property and asked me to circle where I needed the cut. I had no idea how to do anything with the picture she sent me. I don't have edit software and I was born in an era without this type of technology, so I called back confused. She said I need to do this and that and then send it back to her. I told her it was only a 20×20 area around the house. She kept insisting that I do something to the picture. I finally called my grandson and asked for help. He circled 3 areas close to the house (as I tend to cut in a circular pattern starting far away from the house and moving inward) and showed me how to send the picture back. She responded with half of my land circled and quoted me $90. I had not even circled the lawn on the fourth side of the house (but she had it circled when she sent the picture back to me). I was exasperated. I had already gotten quotes from several other companies in the area and for the portion I needed cut, the estimates were all under $50. They'll say it's because the grass was too long. But someone else from LawnGuru cut it a week prior. And you don't realize it until it hits your credit card. Then, when you contact them to complain, they said you have to contact them within 2 days of service and have up on you. Also, they'll cancel service at the last minute and not show. Last year, I protectively scheduled service for snow plowing because a storm was coming and I was sick with Covid. I have had mostly good experiences with Lawn Guru providers. Pricing is fair and service is convenient. I prefer to use them over diy because my weekend time is important to me. I have had trouble finding a provider at one point last year but that has not been an issue this year. read more
