I went to Lawncrest to make arrangements for a loved one who had suffered a massive stroke. I spoke with Brice and he and l had a great discussion about exactly how l needed to proceed. There was absolutely no pressure, just information. This is the second time lve used Lawncrest Mortuary and l chose cremation both times. The entire process was explained to me by Brice and l agreed on the price and service. In a time of need, Lawncrest helped relieve so much pressure on me. I had the opportunity visit Allen and Dahl on Eureka Way and their prices were almost twice the price rate l paid at Lawncrest, plus the front office manager was as rude and calloused as she could be. I wouldn't take my dead cat to Allen and Dahl. They're good at overcharging for everything. read more

I wouldn't give 1 star to be honest. We laid my Aunt to rest over 3 weeks ago. Upon visiting her grave site for the first time we were not happy to find a mess. The flower vase was still missing, weeds overgrown on the headstone, only dirt to be found. We walked to visit my Grandparents gravesite and we had to wipe all the headstones off to view the names. We witnessed a man cutting weeds off of a headstone he was visiting as well. This is unacceptable. When my Aunt chose Lawncrest when my Uncle passed she was lead to believe Lawncrest was going to care for this gravesite in the most compassionate way... that's a lie and the proof us in the pictures. Take a walk and see for yourself. Very upsetting and disappointed. read more

I went to visit my 23 year old daughters grave & my father's too and was appalled at what I seen. My daughter was buried at Lawncrest in 2006. I thought it was a beautiful place but over the past few years it has really gone down hill. I couldn't even find her grave because the weeds had overgrown her name and I had to pull them off. I cried because I live in Sacramento and I don't get to come all the time!!! Please have better respect for my loved one!!!! read more

I went to fix up my friend's baby's grave and I looked all over for her. Someone took her name card (the family hasn't been able to afford her headstone) and all I found was broken glass and metal. Why are those grounds not kept better. I stepped on a couple headstones because they were covered in leaves! I didn't want to touch another person's child's grave for fear of moving something that the family wanted left there or I would clear the leaves myself. How do I go about getting another name card for her? SHE HAS NO IDENTITY!!! read more

Oct. 2018 Thank you Lawncrest...My brother passed and I called just about every place in town for cremation services. At other places I was told a price but when I got there the price was a lot more. At lawncrest I was told a price and it was actually lower when I went there. The people there were wonderful. It was a pleasure having totally understanding staff assist me in a time of such sadness. Mycah is the man who handled everything. Unlike everywhere else their focus wasn't on money. Mycah made us feel so much at ease. He was so thorough with explaining the process. My mother passed in September of 2016. It was a long hard and heartbreaking battle to extend her life. Losing her was horrifying. I went to the same chapel that mismanaged my fathers services ONLY because she wanted it that way. They hard sell their over priced products and charge crazy prices for everything. I kept telling myself that cost should not be an issue. However , profiting as much as possible from someone's grief should not be an issue either. They charge 500.00 to transport your loved one to their facilities. They then charge you "storage" to keep it there until arrangements are made. I went as at the first appointment they had avaiiable. I arranged for cremation and ordered several pendants for my daughter and myself with her fingerprint on them. I filled out the engraved message to be put on the back. The necklaces took forever to arrive and the message on both was wrong. 275.00 a piece and the message on the back is wrong. I tried over and over to reach the lady helping us. She seemed very nice, but I was unable to reach her to pick up the ashes. a week or two until I reached her an she informed me that my mother had not been cremated yet because my last name was different on the family trust. I asked why I had not been contacted and she said she had been sick for two weeks and her superiors did not intervene on the "account". SO MY DEAR MOTHER HAD BEEN IN THE BASEMENT OF THAT BUILDING IN A DRAWER FOR A MONTH BECAUSE THIS LADY HAD THE FLU? I was not happy. But things happen and I did not want this to be some consumer issue, it was the last thing I would ever do for my mom and I just wanted to get it done right. I never received the little note cards for out of town relatives either. So I contacted her to get those. She had tossed them in for free since I only needed 8. I had uploaded a picture and a poem for the cards previously. I picked up the cards and they had some weak funeral verse printed on them and a picture of wheat or grain or flowers on the front instead of what I ordered. I never even sent them. They are not worthy of my mom's memory. This business made a disaster out of my family's tragedy. I paid in excess of 3000.$ for a cremation and announcements that were wrong and mishandled at every turn. This business should be ashamed. 500. to move my mom there. 500. to store her body and on and on with the $$$$, you would think since they are robbing you already that they would at least try to get it right. I would not bring my dog there to be buried. Shame on LAWNCREST. YOUR ENTIRE EXPERIENCE SUCKED TO THE HIGHEST DEGREE! read more

I am so disturbed and disappointed by the condition of these graves. It was once a beautiful park. There are dirt mounds that are over a year old, weeds have overtaken the stones. We entrusted of loved ones with you and this is disrespectful. I buried my mom less than a month ago and there is a mound of dirt on top of her grave. Her flower holder is missing and we were told they would replace it. Guess what? Still missing. We have several family members laid to rest there. Had my mother not paid for her plot next to my father there is no way I would have laid her to rest there. read more

My dad passed away August 2nd of this year. He was the first family member I have ever lost. He passed after a fast and furious battle with cancer, I barely had time to comprehend he had cancer and then he was gone. He had mentioned in past conversations this is were he wanted to be buried. I had never even been here til the day after he passed. i wasn't sure what to expect but I was greeted with the sweetest and most helpful people ever. Never pushy and helped my younger brother and I pick out all funeral arrangements. Seems poorly maintained, lawn is basically crabgrass that has not been mowed in at months from appearances. Be careful walking as there are depressions where ground has settled and with poorly maintained lawn you only notice when you step in the hole. Do not be surprised if things that were decided upon for the service are not provided. read more

This week my family planned the funeral of my father in law, Darwin Borden. I must tell you from the moment we began dealing with this Chapel, I was deeply concerned. Darwin desired to be buried here, if it was not for his wishes I would have insisted on someplace else. We called several times as Darwin lived out of state, only to have several of our calls not returned. Upon meeting the employees in person, we were ushered back to a room that made us feel like being on the showroom floor of a used car lot. In the middle of making plans, we were charged almost 1,000 incorrectly for his coffin, we were left several times to wait for an employee to return at times it took 20 minutes for anyone to return. We were told that his desire to be buried at a deeper level so his dear spouse can one day be interned with him was possible because they claimed to have done all the probing tests to ensure this. Only to find out the morning of the ceremony that they found hard pan and he would not be buried and we would have to have a "mock ceremony". To make matters worse, an employee admitted he lied to the family about the probing. Jeffrey Lane our family will not forget the disservice you provided us. Additionally, we were promised that since we were having only a graveside service, Darwin would be preset at the site prior to everyone arriving. That of course did not happen either, almost everyone was assembled when 4 employees carried his coffin to the setting stand. Not only were 2 of the employees in carhart type jackets and jeans, they stumbled and literally roughly set his coffin on the set stand. Our agreement was to have this set up before everyone showed up, it was very disturbing to watch the unprofessionalism this group displayed. While observing the service I noticed the grave liner, was scratched and chips with some pieces missing. The easels we paid extra for so we could display photos and flowers were cracked and had paint chipping off of them. We now have to go back to this facility this Thursday to make sure they really bury him or if they will have some other excuse as to why not. Additionally, to make this right, the facility agreed not to charge the family for the probing charges, REALLY AFTER ALL YOU DID TO US.....SERIOUSLY. The grieving process is hard enough, we had a simple ceremony nothing complex at all and this facility failed us and frankly hurt my dear mother in law, Toni deeply. Not only did she loose the love of her life, but she was put through hell trying to obey his final wishes. I am disgusted with this place and would NEVER RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE. read more
