I got a quick response to my inquiry for a move out yard service. They sent me an invoice to pay 1/2 the quoted fee to hold my spot for service on selected day and was easily paid online. Their quote beat out quotes from 3 other companies! They are veterans so I thought they would be trustworthy and do a good job for fair price and I was right! First let me start by saying I used Lawn Vets with no problems for almost two years until the last month or so. In Sept I had received a letter from my HOA stating that my yard had not been up to the standards of our subdivision (it had been raining a lot and I only get bi-weekly service). This was in-between services so I mowed the yard myself. So mid- month I notice that Lawn Vets had not come out. So I called and spoke with the owner who had told me that they were behind because he had gotten married and they drove by and saw the lawn was mowed so they thought they did it. So confusion aside, they would come out that Friday (9/18/2015). They did. Everything was fine. So the next service date rolls around which would have been 10/2/2015 and they don't come out. Okay, they will probably come on Monday. Here's the problem. I was leaving town on Monday 10/5 to go to Italy for a week. I check to see if there is an invoice (because for some reason they stopped sending me invoices earlier this year and I had to go in each month and check myself). No invoice. I need this to be resolved before I leave town because I do not want to come back to another letter from the HOA. No invoice by 10/5 so I mow the yard MYSELF again on 10/5. I come back from Italy and Lawn Vets never comes out. No problem cause I figured mowing season was really over. HERE is the problem. I got a call from the owner yesterday about an outstanding invoice for October. I informed him that they did not perform service in October and he had the nerve to tell me that HE did the mowing to my yard for the month of October himself. Really? Because I know ***I*** did the mowing. I was fine leaving things the way they were, but I am not paying for a service I performed myself. Not sure what is going on with this company. read more

Way overpriced for the service!! I would stay clear of Lawn Vets LLC. He offers a military discount of 10%, but it didn't show up on my invoice. Read your contract completely and make sure you put every detail in it that you want. He lives by what is in the contract, so be sure all specifics are in it. He implies more when discussing the job, and then sends the quote. Once you agree he will only do what is in the contract. I wanted a small flower bed put in two areas, one with seven hostas, several sprinkler heads moved and adjusted in the front and back, a three foot fig tree replanted, small ares of the lawn patched, and pine straw put down around some existing shrubs. They charged me $3,225. They performed work for 4 hours the first day and then split for 5 days before coming back to finish the yard. They left the yard a mess and my backyard sprinkler system disabled. When I sent an email to the owner about the mess, he told me to water the plants and they would be back on Tuesday. I had to spend time cleaning up the mess, moving rocks around, and watering the new grass and plants by hand everyday. When I asked to be compensated ($200) off my bill for having to cleanup the mess to prevent further damage to my lawn, the owner absolutely refused and demanded full payment. We discussed the poor job he did, and the delay in time to complete the job, and he threatened to call the police and charge me with "theft through taking". This guy treats his fellow vets poorly, and is unreliable in my opinion. My guess is that he got kicked out of the military. The workmanship is poor to say the least. He also has a very poor attitude when he has to perform any work himself, so be careful. read more

I can't really cannot say what kind of actual work they do, because the gentleman could not make the appointment to give me an estimate on time. When I first called, he said he could come out the next day. He said could not give me a definite time, but he would call me when he was coming. I waited all day for him, and he finally called me late in the day and said he would put on for the next day. After I wasted my day waiting on him , I told him no. If he could not keep the appointment, then he could forget about it altogether. My time is just as valuable as his time and I do not appreciate him wasting it. If he cannot deliver on a simple estimate, then how can I trust his work. As one veteran to another, thanks for your service and have a nice life. Now Mr. Jacobs has the nerve to say he told me he would come after 3:00 and that I got up set. Mr. Jacobs is a liar. He did not say any such thing and he did not give a specific time he would call me. Mr. Jacobs is a joke. Beware of this guy. read more
