1. we asked for a quote (responded to an online advertisement) 2. received an arm-chair quote (like a standard form with address and name changed) . So we selected "If you'd prefer to schedule a time to connect that works best for you, feel free to use the link below to book a convenient time." We incorrectly assumed he would come out. No. Said he would ask Service Manager to call. 3. Two weeks later (after I called three times) the service manager, Joe, called and came to our home. He was VERY knowledgeable and discussed a plan and schedule tailored to the needs of our lawn. He said we would get a new quote that reflected these details. 4. about a week later at 9:56 in the morning, I received an email saying I am signed up for auto-renew for the plan attached. Four minutes later I get a voicemail from a female, no company identified, referred to "An email she sent", first application tomorrow. she did leave a phone number to be reached with questions. NO NAME. NO COMPANY MENTIONED. 5. The "Plan" attached to the email was Nothing like Joe said it would be. Did not say what the applications were (crab grass control? fertilizer? weed killer? grub control?) , what season for application (early spring, spring, summer, fall, late fall,?) Joe said it would cover what we discussed. IT DID NOT. 6. I called...the young woman who answered the phone said I can explain. The FIRST think she said is we will come out and apply "crab grass preventer". I stopped her in her tracks. Joe said because we were killing moss we could NOT have crab grass preventer applied. She said "oh let me correct myself" I said....Can't you simply write the new plan down and email it to me? She said " NO I CANNOT" ...I said well then I cannot hire Lawn Squad. She said OK and disconnected. If we cannot trust Lawn Squad to stand by what they tell us now....how can we trust them to actually follow through in the future? This is a shame. Our Neighbor's have used Lawn Squad for years before they changed their name....their lawn is very nice. Their technician is very easy to work with. I supposed Lawn Squad is just not in to customer service any more. read more

A huge resounding NO. I absolutely cannot recommend this company; in fact, what I do recommend is that potential customers run away fast and that the company just close down already. Unbelievable. Our lawn looked better before their services and completely wrecked afterwards... the proof is in the pictures we took. They didn't ever "treat" around our berry bed (my husband took care of that himself) and, lo and behold, the grass there is thick and green while everywhere Lawn Squad did looks like a prairie fire rolled through. People have even asked what happened to our lawn! We halted services before the period ended and requested our money back based on a, not just unsatisfactory but, totally appalling result; they, of course, said no. When we politely insisted based on the photos, no response was given. No courtesy. No professionalism. You'll do yourself a disservice if you go with this company. read more

Upper management does not return phone calls even when you have an issue and my yard looks horrible, do not sign up with them. Poor customer service, thriving weeds and unacceptable communication. They don't care about their customers at all. Just fired them!! read more

I had a contract for last year and did not renew for this year because I was so disappointed with the quality of the service. My yard had never looked so bad at any previous time after Lawn Squad took over. I came home a couple of weeks ago to find that they had made a lawn application that I did not request, since I had already contracted with another service. I began getting late payment emails and attempted to explain that I was no longer under contract with Lawn Squad, but the service home office (Columbus ?) was basically non responsive. Granted, a couple of return calls were missed but no acknowledgement of my concerns was ever made. After seven attempts to contact them on the number provided, I called the local franchisee in Elyria who acknowledged that they were cancelling my "contract" but still insisted I pay for the unrequested lawn application they made. I could not in good conscience recommend Lawn Squad to anyone. read more

Had my lawn fertilized on May 14th. A few days later I noticed large burn spots mostly in my front & side yard. Called them up & they said they'd send someone out in a couple of days. In May 24th, a "technician" showed up & said they were having issues with the application machine & yes, it looked like burn out. Said my side yard was so bad they might have to reseed it. I said I'd water it & see what happens. Tech said he'd be back in a couple of weeks to take another look at it. It's now June 24th & he hasn't been back. I have a tree in the front yard that was a few feet from one of the burn spots, it looks like it's dying even though I've been watering it every day since this happened. I even emailed their quality control (?) & have yet to receive a reply. I then got a text on 6-20-24 that they were coming to fertilize the next day. Called them & canceled my service, told them they killed my lawn, possibly my tree & why would they come out on a day that was going to be in the 90's??!!! I'm still waiting for someone to contact me about this . I would definitely not recommend Lawn Squad of Cleveland for anything. Only reason they got one star is because you have to put a "star" rating in review. read more
