My experience with Lawn and Order was the most unsatisfactory I have ever had with any contractor. The lawn treatments were not completed, and my yard became overgrown with weeds. After terminating our contract, he attempted to charge me for an additional month of service. When Joe inspected my lawn, which was filled with weeds, he offered me $200. It is important to note that I was paying him approximately $500 per month for year-round maintenance. Instead of addressing the issue with my lawn, he presented me with highly inflated bids for removing shrubs and repairing a rock drainage area. He subsequently sent a notice for payment to a collection agency. Consequently, I am now seeking legal counsel to resolve this matter, as I refuse to pay money that I do not owe. I have all relevant emails, text messages, correspondence, and photographs of my deceased lawn. My original salesperson contact, Nathan, was terminated from his position. There are numerous reputable lawn maintenance contractors and landscapers in Raleigh. I have now found one. Joe's bid for removing shrubs: $1,000 My current landscaper: $325 Joe's bid to fix the rock drainage: Over $2,000 My current landscaper repaired it for $300. read more

We hired Lawn and Order Landscaping for a complete rebuild of our small backyard, and we could not be happier with the results. The project involved removing all existing landscaping -- pine straw, mulch, plants, and more -- and starting from scratch to address serious stormwater drainage issues. The team regraded the yard for proper runoff, installed a dry creek bed with two 20-inch catch basins, added a French drain system, and buried multiple drainage lines across the property. They also removed part of our patio to replace an outdated gutter drainage line. To finish the project, they installed river rock throughout the creek bed and around the perimeter of the yard, then laid beautiful fescue sod. Joe worked closely with us during the planning process, listened to our ideas, and developed a design that met both our functional and aesthetic goals. The quote was fair, the project started on schedule, and the entire job was completed on time and within budget. One thing that really impressed us was the amount of manual labor involved. Since no motorized equipment could access our backyard, the crew completed everything by hand. A team of five to six workers put in two long days of hard work, and throughout the process they remained friendly, professional, and incredibly patient. Whenever we had questions, they took the time to explain what they were doing and why. When the work was finished, the crew cleaned everything thoroughly and left the property looking fantastic. Our backyard is now both beautiful and functional, and we finally have a drainage solution that works. We highly recommend Lawn and Order Landscaping to anyone considering a similar project. read more

I hired them to simply aerate and topdress my lawn and to set up monthly services . (Only 1/4 acre lot). They did half the yard. I had to call them to return and finish the front yard, which they did. The next day I received an electronic bill with a due date in 2 days. The whole operation seemed to be shaky, (a few weeks earlier they performed a fertilizer treatment and returned 5 days later for the same treatment? I happened to he home and told them employee you just did this 2 weeks ago, no need so he left). I wouldn't recommend read more

Recently moved into a home in Raleigh and I hired Lawn and Order this year for routine mowing and basic yard maintenance. While the mowing itself was passable, communication around scheduling was consistently vague and unprofessional. Getting in touch with anyone at the company has been extremely difficult, and responses--when they come--are often delayed or incomplete. The real issue arose when I was invoiced a substantial amount for a service I neither scheduled nor authorized. I had a preliminary conversation with Luis about taking care of some arborvitaes, during which I made it clear I was still considering my options and asked several questions. Rather than confirming any agreement or scheduling a date for the service, they took it upon themselves to send a crew--completely unannounced--to carry out the work. Not only was this an egregious overstep, but the quality of the work was subpar and resulted in actual damage to my property. The lack of communication, disregard for consent, and poor workmanship reflect a serious lapse in professionalism and accountability. I would not recommend this company based on my experience. read more

We have a lot of choices for lawn care in our area. We spoke with a handful to get an idea of pricing, practices and scheduling. We decided to go with Lawn and Order based on a number of factors, as well as being able to see some of their local work. We have found they are easy to work with and do quality work. They are always on time, and send reminders a few days in advance so we are prepared! We are happy with our decision and will...and have...recommend them to friends and family. read more

I've used L&O for lawn service for several years and have had a great experience with them. So I am baffled as to why their bush group has been such a nightmare to deal with. I wanted the hedges to the left and right side of my house trimmed back. I should have realized something was wrong when I had to email and call several times to get service, found out that the person who came to my house and gave me the quote had quit the company, and was told "someone will come by in a couple of weeks." The crew showed up when I wasn't there and mangled one set of the hedges (nice rounded hedge cut into a lopsided box, and not cut back off the grass as requested), and the other hedge had only a small overhanging section cut back when I wanted the entire hedge cut back 1-2 feet. In order to meet their $500 minimum charge, I also had them put down pine needles in beds, and that was done sloppily with pine needles spilled over the stone trim and into the lawn. I called Joe, apparently the head of the crew, and said that the work was not done as I had explained to guy who gave me the quote. I could tell that my original instructions for what I wanted were not being communicated to the crew and asked him to come to the house so I could show him what I wanted and he could then tell the crew. He refused and gave me the same line, "someone will come by in a couple of weeks to fix it." Well, they came by alright. Instead of correcting their work, they trimmed the hedges at the front and back of my house! The front hedges didn't need it, and they killed a nest of baby birds in the rear hedge that my family was keeping track of and observing from our screened-in porch. I texted Joe and said I that was the last straw, and all of this would have been avoided he had simply come out and let me show him what needed to be done. Because the work I wanted was not done, and their crew was obviously so incompetent that I didn't want them in my yard again, I refused to pay the $550 fee and told him if that's a problem then have the owner contact me and I'll explain what a hassle it has been to deal with them. Joe replied that he would take $50 off the charges, but L&O considered the work completed! So pay up. They've been dunning me since, but I will gladly see them in small claims court before I give them a cent for this nonsense. If for some reason you decide to hire them for bush work, I would insist on a specific time and day when you'll be home, so you can explain to the crew what you want done and inspect their work right when they finish. UPDATE: Despite not performing the services I originally requested, they now have a debt collection agency hounding me for the fee. At this point, I would avoid this company like the plague. read more

I Cancelled their service due to their billing practices on 9/3; sent payment 9/3; they retaliated by sending my acccount to Debt Collectors on 9/6! These guys are the worst! Cancel and pay and they send your account to debt collectors .... read more

We hired Lawn & Order since the previous owner used the company. Overall, we are very disappointed and would not recommend this company. We had several problems. During the first visit, a pipe cover was damaged. We were never informed of the damage. After we found the damage, about 10-11 days after, we reported it. They apologized and told us that they had meant to notify us. It should have not taken that long to notify us and we should not have had to initiate the complaint. I was reimbursed for the replacement part. It also appeared that our back lawn had not been touched and only the front yard was done. On our second service, (supposedly) happened while I was at work. I inspected the lawn about 48 hours later and noticed sprouts sticking up and the mulch still in disarray. It appeared that the lawn was not done; same with back lawn. I took pictures to send to my husband. I cancelled my service because of my dissatisfaction. When asked, I put forth my issues through a few back and forth emails, with pictures, and asked for a final bill. I honestly did not expect a bill, given my lawn was not done to satisfaction, but it was sent. I was not given an apology and just given a bill. In my opinion, the company should have stood behind their service a little better. As a new customer, I expected better service. read more

I'm impressed that my husband found these guys. Open and honest, they didn't promise miracles but have delivered impressive results. Our neglected lawn was nearly completely over-run with stilt grass despite paying another service for weed control. So far, they have beaten back the tide of invasive grasses and somehow managed to keep what remains of our lawn looking respectable. They have been coming at regular intervals and leaving our property well-manicured. Aside from the odd drink bottle that gets left behind, I'm pleased with their service. read more

Highly recommend Lawn and Order: 1) Great results 2) Local company - when you call you get a local person! And they know how to treat your lawn based on local conditions 3) Reasonably priced 4) Know their stuff - had a national company previously and that company treated my Fescue and Zoysia the same, Zoysia grass always looked terrible. Lawn and Order treats each separately and Zoysia is much happier! read more

Lawn and Order is fantastic!!! They do such a great job and our lawn has never looked better since they started taking care of it. They have a lot of knowledge and expertise and have always been willing to share it, even when I've wanted to do things on my own (like trimming the trees and bushes.) We started using them when we owned our first home and took them with us to our second home- If we weren't moving out of the Triangle, we'd still be using them- they do an awesome job!!! read more

I sent written instructions to them (4 bullet points), and they didn't do what I asked. We still have pine cones and dead leaves all over the front and back yard. Also, two sapling trees were not removed. For this they charged $45 per hour X 2 workers for 6 hours. Not worth it for the quality of work. Hire high school or college students! read more

First off, sorry to Joe Bailey for this long overdue review. I'll be honest, I chose this company because they were close to where I live. From the very beginning Joe and his staff were very friendly. Contact was easy and quick by texting and email. Joe came out and gave us options for our project that were reasonable and fit our needs. The work was scheduled and executed perfectly as designed. We had approximately 12 shrubs planted/landscaped in our front yard. We also had gravel landscaped around our driveway and the front of our property and some low hanging limbs cut from over our driveway. We are very pleased with all the work that was done as well as the friendliness and professionalism of all the staff and landscapers at Lawn and Order. Thanks Joe! read more

I fully recommend Lawn and Order landscaping. Besides loving the name, they have taken great care of my yard for the past few years. They are very easy to communicate with and very reliable. Great friendly people to work with! I will continue to use them and recommend them to everyone I know! read more

Started out strong, but the quality of service quickly diminished to the point where they were using a weedwacker (instead of a mower) at my grass and damaging a lot of sections. Had to switch to another provider before my zoysia was chopped away completely. Wanted to like them (and the name is cool). read more

Told me they couldn't service my lawn because my yard "has rocks in it". Doesn't every yard have rocks in it? The space the were talking about didn't even have grass, and don't most lawn companies have insurance for this sort of thing? read more
