My other half arrived home last week with a brown bag, inside there was a small brown box tied up with a brown satin bow. I opened it up wondering what it was only to find a selection of these fabulous hand made chocolates!! Maya is a new shop that has just opened at the top of the Old High street in what used to be the postcard and stamp shop. There violet creams have to be most absolute fave with rich dark chocolate and tiny bits of sugared violet on top and the most amazing violet cream inside, hmmmm I could have eaten them all at once. I have not asked how much they were but it is a specialist shop so I think they are probably priced quite highly but they are worth it! I am told that the box of violet creams I was given was around £10 for 12 chocs so yeah they aren't cheap but like I said to my partner I would give up all other chocolate for a year if I knew I would get a box of 12 of these just once a year!! That is how good they are. It is a lovely shop, everyone should go and just try one yummu choc, you will fall in love.

Lovely interior although at present no indoor or outdoor seating. Not sure if this was different prior to Covid as there is a wide outdoor sidewalk area and the inside is similarly spacious and could probably accommodate a few tables. Offerings vary depending on your taste and just how chocolatey you enjoy your drink. Percent chocolate content and other flavour note descriptions are on posters on the wall behind the counter. You can take your pick of hot chocolates, milkshakes and iced chocolates whatever your fancy.
