But we were referred here by a legal office for assistance preparing documentation for court proceedings. But what we got was so much more. We got an amazing advocate in Irene Carrillo. She has been by our side every step of the way. It was not a one-time appointment where we had to have all our ducks in a row and all our questions ready. We have been back again and again because the court has requested this or that and even when there have been issues (because we have no idea what we are doing!) Irene has been so patient and kind. I paid the $1,000.00. Mr. Koch filed paper work and went to court one time where he was unsuccessful in getting my ex to sign the form. The case was continued and I received a bill for an additional $1,000.00. I ended up getting my ex to sign the document myself. I disputed the additional charges since I was told it would only cost a flat rate of $1,000.00. 2018, I referred my Dad to Mr. William Koch not thinking that he would do something similar. My Dad paid $2,500 as a retainer after confirming that he was able to file in the state of California due to a recent move to Arizona. Mr. Koch assured him, took his money, filed for the divorce in California and was incorrect. My Dad was not able to file in California and needed to in Arizona. Mr. Koch refused to refund my Dad the full amount he paid after making the mistake. Mr. Koch stated he felt it was fair to charge my Dad for the work he did, regardless that it should have never been done in the State of California. I did not have a good experience when dealing with Mr. Koch.

Feeling unheard and unimpressed with him, I decided to look for a different attorney. The next attorney made all my first attorney's mistakes worse and I had nothing to show for it but a lot of bills. I started to feel like I was getting bargain basement representation. They gave poor throw-away advice constantly, telling me to just agree to my Ex's terms and stipulations even when I told them it would not benefit me, only my Ex. The eventual mutual Settlement Agreement created by them was rejected by the judge because they had created such a mess of it; so I decided to look for another attorney. By this time I obviously felt very burned by attorney's in general. When I found Mr. Koch, my case was a pretty snarled and mangled mess. But he not only listened and asked questions, he offered suggestions, strategies and ideas how to untangle it all. I realized pretty quickly he knew a lot about the law and how to best use it to solve my case. He decided the best approach was to scrap the previous Settlement Agreement that was created by my second attorney and rejected by the judge, and almost start over back at the beginning again. I was scared of how much it would cost, but he and his team were absolutely cognoscente of my financial situation and carefully did everything they could to keep the costs down by not starting unnecessary paperwork, if they didn't need to. Even though Mr. Koch assigned a legal aid to my case, Nancy, both of them were only a phone call and a meeting away, whenever I wanted one. I never once felt like my case was improperly handled or I was unheard. They guided me through everything, answering my every question in a detailed, thorough manner. Above all, Mr. Koch and his team were approachable and the utmost professionals. I cannot thank Nancy, who is definitely skilled at her job, for all her time and patience helping me, and Mr. Koch and each of his staff, for making me feel like my case was a priority, and I wasn't alone battling my divorce out with my Ex.
