Out of my 7 tattoos, I've been tattooed by Danny 5 times and all I can say is he's absolutely awesome. He made sure I was comfortable, cracked jokes, and initiated conversation when tattooing in sensitive areas to distract from the pain. Dan is so professional but is very personable! Planning on going back soon for another appointment!! Absolutely love the atmosphere of this shop and all of the artists!

Came in with several pieces that I wanted to combine into one and the Tattoo artist "Swift" did a great job at sketching out the idea I had in mind ! I loveeee the end result. My tattoo came out dope and super clean! The artist was courteous, very friendly, and didn't mind asking adjustments to the sketch unlike other artist that are unwilling to incorporate your ideas into the tattoo. Highly recommend him. The other staff were also super friendly and I like that their shop is kept clean and neat. Two thumbs up !

Lavish Tattoo was an awesome experience. A couple of friends and I wanted to get walk-in compass tattoos while we were on vacation down here. Ryan took care of us and was kind and patient from start to finish. The tattoos are great quality and very fast. The line work is very clean, and I love the color on mine. If I'm ever back in town (which I hope to be again soon) I will definitely be returning to Ryan! I will definitely post a better picture of mine after it heals up. I bleed a lot so the color is a little obscured right now. read more

One of my go to spots fasho. This spot is a smaller building but they have the OGs there. If you need a tattoo artist Swift will get you right! (he's done like 9 or so tattoos of mine) If you need a piercing Romo is super professional and accommodating (pierced my nipples). I'd suggest go in ready to know what you want and when you're ready to get tatted. Put your deposit and get it done. They're not about the run around. read more

Went here for their Friday the 13th special for a simple tattoo and it went so smoothly! Didn't feel rushed at all and the wait was not bad. I got Rylan as my artist and he was extremely friendly and welcoming. As a perfectionist I always fee l really annoying at tattoo parlors, but he was happy to help me get the placement, shape and size just right. I also asked to get small tattoos on my fingers and he happily did it without any problems. Very happy with my time here! highly recommend for their special or anytime! read more

I had been referred to lavish by two folks so I went in wanting to get some initials covered up. I didn't really have any ideas because of the placing of the original tattoo but dustin hooked it up. He knew what would look good, was fast, and pricing was real fair. He's real talented. I'll be back to lavish for sure. They're not ur typical *#*@ head tattoo artists and the music they played was so perfect. With how much pain clients are going through its nice to have a relaxed and vibin' atmosphere. Got my rook pierced here and loved how it turned out. I cleaned it with hydrogen peroxide twice if not more every day but it got badly infected a week later. I'm talking the worst pain I have ever experienced in my life! My ear was the size of a tomato and red as a strawberry. I called the shop several times and no one was answering and when they did they said a piercer wasn't in and wouldn't be in for a while. Finally I had my friend rip the piercing out which was not easy or a quick process whatsoever. Hopefully better luck next time I guess:( read more

On Saturday, after weeks of frustrating personal issues, I was at the end of my rope. As the air traffic controller in the original Airplane movie exclaimed, "I picked the wrong day to stop drinking." So because I am extremely mature, I grew a wild hair and decided to get another tattoo, well two actually. My daughter knows one of the artists at this studio, Dez. I brought in a picture of a Koala which is my favorite animal, despite my brother having lived in Austraila trying to convince me they smell like crap and are mean. I already have a tribal symbol, indicating power, on my shoulder, so I wanted my astrological sign (Gemini) in the middle indicating Gemini Power. Dez took both of my examples and found the exact size and coloring I had wanted. I remember thinking that, five years ago when i got my first tattoo, the process felt like small razors cutting me. However, much like childbirth, the memory of the actual feeling fades over time. I must have a lower tolerance for pain than I had thought. I was cringing and tearing up, while another guy across from me was falling asleep having a large tattoo finished on the back of his leg. Both tattoos took less than an hour. Dez was very professional and nice. I am extremely happy with the work. I have plans for at least one more tattoo that will likely be done following another mature moment. So my friends and I wanted to get tattoos spur of the moment, which usually isn't a good sign but we found Lavish. They're open til a reasonably late hour which was great. The artists there are amazing at what they do with great starting prices. I've gotten at least two done from Dusten, who's creative input has made me love my tattoos even more. And not only do they do tattoos but they also do piercings! I got both my eyebrow and nose pierced by Romo. He's amazing. Love my piercings. Really clean shop. And has a great atmosphere. read more

Place sucks. Once I walked in nobody was trying to help me. They always have people hanging out in the front of the shop and around the entrance, like that's suppose to be a good impression. And the piercer was way to rough on my piercing and on top of that he didnt give me any care med for my piercing, and it also came out cricked. read more

Got a tat a while ago by Dezz.. Got high and drank beer during tat... Very unprofessional. Messed up both tats had to come in for a cover up... Free touch ups for life is a SCAM.. Don't beleive it... Tried to charge for my first touch up that he insisted would be free anyway because of his mess up! Not going back... And an annoying trip to court to come.... Geez read more

Worst customer service I have ever experienced. These "artists" are completely unprofessional, rude, and their work is mediocre at best. The shop is dirty and made me feel completely unsafe getting a tattoo. They're cheap, but you get what you pay for. read more

Every step Mateo took, he educated me and informed me every step he was about to do before the nose piercing began. She had her hands full with customers both on the phone and in person, and made sure each of us was seen promptly. There is no lot parking but I got lucky with street parking when I went. The doorway is oddly cramped but there is a separate seating area just inside to the left, and they have a lot of cool art and cases full of jewelry on offer. My appointment started on time and Francheska was so helpful! She worked with me to pick the appropriate piece of jewelry for my piercing and changing it out was quick and painless. I appreciate that she offered options at lower price points, I think that is a major green flag for integrity. She asked if I had any other questions and she was able to accommodate a quick piercing cleaning as well as a downsize. I did not know one of my other piercings needed to be further downsized so I am grateful she noticed and had the time to do that for me as well. Overall, I have been coming to Enigma for all my piercing needs for as long as I've been in San Diego, and will continue to do so. Francheska is new to Enigma (but plenty of prior experience), but I highly recommend her for your piercing related needs!

0/10. Do NOT come here…read more I found this artist through Instagram for anime tattoos. His work looked good, so I reached out. He was quick to respond and asked for a $200 deposit, which I sent via Apple Pay on March 5 to the shop owner. We booked for March 16. Leading up to the appointment, he would send random updates on the design, but nothing was finalized. I gave feedback and stayed patient, even knowing they had a Friday the 13th event going on. I didn't hit him up again until March 15 (the day before my appointment) because we STILL didn't have a finished design, which is wild. He tells me he'll have it done that day. Cool. Then a few hours later, I get a generic email saying my appointment is canceled. No explanation. Nothing. So I reach out to the number I sent my $200 to asking for a refund, and instead of handling it like professionals, they get confrontational and start acting like I'm the problem for asking for MY money back. They try to hide behind a "no refund" policy... even though THEY canceled on me. Make that make sense. I added my conversation with the artist, since the owner wants to claim harassment. Judge for yourself. No policy was ever clearly shown to me, and communication was trash the entire time. Instead of owning their mistake, they blamed me and got disrespectful. I only got my money back after I told them I'd file a chargeback with my bank and take them to small claims court. Go read their bad reviews--you'll see a pattern, especially with how the owner talks to customers. Super unprofessional. Save your time, save your money, and go somewhere else.

The picture is what the normal order comes with, needless to say they will be swapped for the high quality ones once they heal. Terrible client service and ZERO effort to right the wrong, probably one of the absolute worst client service we've received! $10 for gold which we don't care for. So we got free aftercare wowww, hopefully doesn't break their bank. Very disappointing but STAFF minus owner were great! A group of 10 or so of us customers waited 45 minutes. Getting my second big tattoo piece was something I wanted to have done right. The first piece I had done did not go as smoothly as I would have liked. Being fairly new to San Diego, I relied on the recommendations of friends when looking for the right shop. When I thought I had found the one, I put in my deposit and scheduled an appointment. The problem was, the artist was difficult to get in touch with and just did not seem eager to do the work. Thanks to a good friend of mine, I visited Lavish Tattoo and spoke with Ryan "Fry". This guy was passionate from the first minute I walked in about helping me make my plans a reality. He was eager to help and willing to go out of his way to make sure I didn't have to go through anymore trouble. I gave him my ideas and he had my sketches fully drawn out that night! That is unheard of. Two days later I cancelled the appointment I had at the other shop and scheduled an appointment with Fry two days later. He opened his schedule to meet my need for an early date. The sketches blew my mind and he brought an incomparable perspective to the plate which resulted in some awesome additions to my idea. When I finally went in for my appointment, Fry cleared the whole day to make sure he finished the piece. The final result is beyond words incredible. I couldn't be happier with my tattoo and the artist who made brought it to life! I had been looking for a talented tattoo artist for a long time , because nobody wants to get new ink on their body and it turn out sloppy. One day I was at this barber shop, just got my haircut and was chatting away with one of the barbers & asked him if he knew of any places to get a tattoo. Without hesitation, he told me "lavish tattoo" I'm so glad he did too because that next day I gave the shop a call and got in touch with one of the artists, Paul Fitzpatrick . I highly recommend this guy. He's badass and easy to talk to. So if you happen to be getting a tattoo session in that'll last several hours , he will talk his ass off. All the tattoo artists here are meth addicts and wanna-be gangsters. They think hanging out in front of their shop makes them look extra cool while showing off their 'i'm on a budget' look. This place is terrible. The people that work here are rude and ignorant. The place is dirty and there is dirty nettles all over the counters. My girlfriend has been coming to this place for a couple years now, her go to guy is Dezz Madre, in which he has done all of her pieces. She has a sun, a lion and scriptures. One morning we woke up and said we're getting tattoos two hours later we have matching quotes.
