I had the best massage ever! Rosa is the best and I will request for her again on my next appointment. I discussed with her about my anxiety for not getting sleep and she nailed it! The night after getting massage from her, I slept like a child! And the 60-min session was accurate unlike other places where they spent time filling out the form and talking. You'll end up with 45-50 min left. La Vida Massage in Cypress is one of the best massage places I've been. Very courteous staff, very clean facilities. I always have a good experience with the staff at the Cypress location. I have, also, had many good/great massages here since starting my membership. Alex is my go-to guy! I have had a lot of issues with my back/neck/shoulders in the last several months and he has the perfect amount of firmness to work out the knots, but not leave me hurting. He has spot-on intuition for where my pain is and it is like he can read my mind on how to adapt the pressure accordingly. Just a really wonderful presence and truly a healer in his own right! ATROCIOUS CUSTOMER SERVICE. I am a full time momma and came in here on a Friday to get a good start on my weekend... NOPE! The front desk staff (completely engrossed in their personal cell phone) seemed inconvenienced by any attempt to engage with them. Their attitude bordered on hostility, leaving me feeling unwelcome. As I waited in the small tranquility room, I could overhear them gossiping loudly at the front. Fortunately, my therapist was a beacon of professionalism and provided exceptional care during my session, the sole reason for salvaging any positive aspect of my visit. Then, attempting to inquire about my gift card was dismissed, as one staff member appeared more interested in her personal call than addressing my concerns. Overall, were it not for the outstanding service of my therapist, this experience would have warranted no more than a one-star rating. I'll spend my $80 a month anywhere but here. read more

I have used LaVida several times after getting a gift certificate from my son. I have never been disappointed but the last two visits have beeen with Danilo and it has made such a difference. I am now able to look over my right shoulder to check for traffic without pain before changing lanes (a real plus). He is stong but gentle and is able to work out the "kinks" gradually so that it isn't painful. He started out with light to medium and was eventually able to do some deep tissue massage without it killing me. I feel so much better. read more

I came her for a 90 minute massage today with Amanda and got a decent massage. I would have like more firm pressure but all-in-all it was a decent massage. The blonde girl in the waiting area wasn't too friendly and didn't offer me any water or tea upon entering which was a little disappointing. I had to get water from the fountain by the bathroom. They also only gave me a 75 minute massage instead of the full 90 minutes. I arrived in time but was not ushered into the room right away. She also said I would get to keep the sample jar after the Massage, but then when she learned the therapist had forgotten to use it, she said she could only sell me the sample at $9.99. Really? I've had a massage one other time in my life, so I am no massage 'expert'. However, at 9 months pregnant, I am definitely grumpy and sore and was in much need of some relaxation. I swung by LaVida and saw that they offer prenatal massages, so I figured I'd give it a try. I ended up booking a couples' massage (hubby is in desperate need of a massage as well....you do know that husbands experience pregnancy pains, too...right? He picked a relaxation massage and I of course booked my prenatal. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable regarding their masseuses and who does the best job with what. Hubby got Jana and I got Deanna. The facility - spotless, relaxing, and very quiet. Our room was spacious with two beds facing away from each other - mine came with the much loved and at times worshipped body pillow for side laying preggo mommies. On my part - Deanna is probably the most amazing masseuse in the world. She asked about my pain, pressure points (did I want to start labor now or wait? Sadly, we agreed I needed to wait), and any other special issues. I think she was able to release about 15 knots from this sore mommy's back. The pressure was perfect and I loved that their oil didn't make me feel greasy. Hubby said Jana, for such a tiny lady, really had the strength to relieve all of the tension in his back. :) Definitely can't wait to come back after baby arrives and I'm beyond sleep deprived! read more

I received a birthday gift card for a massage from here earlier this year (January 2018). I attempted to schedule an appointment on a total of at least 3 different occasions over the last few months, and I finally decided to give up on this place, asked for a refund and I'm never giving them my business. The first attempt, I called, and they couldn't seem to find an opening within a week's time frame. The second time, I called and was told they had an opening at 9am and 10am the following morning, but refused to give me an appointment unless I provided them with my credit card information over the phone. (At that time, I was on the road and could not pull over to grab this, and they were within mins of closing so I couldn't call them back later.) Still, the receptionist encouraged me to show up the next morning as a walk-in which I did. Yet, that morning, I was told there was now only an 11:15am appointment available. I had a later commitment and thought I wouldn't be able to travel back in time so I declined and instead went to grab coffee. After buying coffee (maybe 20 minutes later), I made an impulse decision to call them back and try to take that 11:15am appointment. (I was willing to rework my entire day's schedule just to get in!) When I called to ask for the 11:15am appointment, I was told that was no longer available now and again, found difficulty getting on the schedule. It seemed rather crazy to me that within minutes the night before and that same morning, appointments seemed to be snagged. My third attempt earlier this week, I called and was finally able to get a 10:15am and also provided them with my credit card info. Unfortunately, on my way to the appointment, I blew out a tire and ended up on the side of the highway with a flat. I called Lavida Massage (still a few mins before my scheduled appointment) and let the receptionist know what happened, apologized, and also asked if there were any other openings later. She offered 10:30am. (Fifteen minutes after my scheduled appointment!) I nearly laughed, but politely told her it would take me more than 15 mins to get my tire changed. Since this would now turn into a "no show" she advised me she would have to charge my card a $25 fee. I kindly asked for an exception given the unforeseen circumstances and even offered to text her a picture. She said she would call the owner and call me back. She did in fact call back, but only to inform me that this is their policy, and there are no exceptions which seemed clear to me this was the direction she was provided. At this point, I asked to have the owner call me (in an effort to have them reconsider) or request a refund. Two hours later (after I was finished dealing with my tire situation), I showed up at the store. I, again, attempted to reason with the staff and asked to speak to the owner, a second time. They basically let me talk, but never acknowledged the unfortunate situation, ignored my request, and showed no sympathy. They just didn't seem to care! At this point (at least for me), it was no longer about the $25 dollars as I would've been happy to tip that or more to my masseuse, but this was about the principal of it. The business clearly has no issues getting people in, and I'm fairly certain no business was lost given my previous experiences. Yet, I had now spent so much time calling for appointments, going there, etc. I could certainly understand that if I simply didn't show up without a call, notice or good reason, their policy is warranted. However, I must've talked to them at least 3 or 4 times that morning. I followed up by going to the store in-person within a couple of hours with my new tire receipt on hand and all. However, remember this was a gift originally purchased by a girlfriend for my birthday (with her credit card) so when they processed the refund it went back to her card despite the fact that this was purchased 5 months ago! So, now I was left with the task to call her, inform her about the situation so that she can confirm the credit and still no massage. Several things were left clear to me with the various interactions I had with this business. The front desk lacks customer service and training, the business owner is eager to take your money, but does not want to be "bothered" in retaining business nor offers his/her staff the power to do so, and above all they lack tact. I have no interest in supporting businesses like these! read more

I took my Mom here for a Mother's Day gift and the service was mediocre. This was my mom's first massage so I wanted her to have a great experience. When we arrived the receptionist was friendly, however, we weren't offered anything to drink. I scheduled us a 1 hour couples massage and we received about a 45 minute massage. The massage therapist took us back and asked about pressure etc... It felt rushed and wasn't relaxing. My mom complained about her massage therapist digging into her neck multiple times. Made an appointment the day before out of desperation from neck pain so intense I was unable to turn my head. I had Amanda and she was amazing! The massage wasn't "good for Cypress" good, it was absolutely wonderful! Amanda focused on the problem areas and I left feeling so much better (and having regained full range of motion of my head)! She even focused again on the neck/shoulder area towards the end of the message while I was on my back-wow! And the heated tables are a nice touch. I had the BEST prenatal massage today with Amanda. I am almost 39 weeks pregnant and very uncomfortable. I woke up this morning with horrible back and hip pain and needed to find a place that could fit me in last minute. I found LaVida through a search online and lucky for me, they were able to squeeze me in. When I got there, I was warmly greeted by the staff who offered me water. The waiting room was very nicely decorated and provided a relaxing atmosphere. Amanda was my masseuse. She was very professional and detail oriented when discussing what I needed done. Here are some highlights that made my experience extra special: Heated table-was extremely comfortable! Long body pillow for side-lying prenatal-I preferred this over multiple pillows like some other places provide Masseuse pressure was perfect for prenatal massage Masseuse also used the perfect amount of lotion/oil-not too much but enough to make the massage comfortable I was given the option of having my neck and shoulders worked on while laying on my back for the last 10 minutes-most places don't offer this and it was just what I needed! I visited Lavida Massage in Cypress for the first time last weekend and had a wonderful experience! I've been with my massage therapist, Mark King, for about 3 years and followed him to Lavida. Mark is fantastic! He has a calming presence and a soothing country twang that puts you at ease immediately. Mark asks specifically what you're in for and does a great job at focusing his skills on exactly where you need it the most. I had called ahead to specifically ask if they had the special pregnancy massage tables for a prenatal massage. The receptionist told me they did which is the only reason I scheduled a 90-min prenatal massage since where I usually go (urban day spa) doesn't have the tables, and you have lie on your side and switch halfway. When I was led back to the massage room I found that they do not have the pregnancy massage tables! I was immediately disappointed that I would have to lie on my sides anyways which isn't comfortable for me in the third trimester and takes away from being able to enjoy/benefit from the massage! Since this was a rare opportunity for me to be able to take time to get a massage and I had a terrible muscle spasm I needed worked on, I went ahead with the massage but I wish I hadn't! The masseuse was cordial but the massage was mediocre and very overpriced for the quality! I left with minimal benefit and a persistent spasm which is the whole reason I went. I don't think I'll be returning again. Save your time and money especially if you're needing a quality prenatal massage! read more

I decided to treat myself for a massage to start the New Year off right. I went to LaVida on 1/2/07 and had a massage with Amanda. It was....absolutely amazing. I don't know what else to say. I highly recommend her. She used the right amount of pressure, and paid special attention the areas I told her were tense on me. I was so completely relaxed after the massage that I didn't even want to talk! I felt the price was reasonable, although I believe the $49 was for new clients, because if I go back I think it will be more. I was told about the membership, but they weren't pushy at all, which is a good thing because in the past at another major massage chain, the pushiness at the end of the massage to become a member ruined the whole experience for me. While I am giving this 5 stars, I would make a suggestion for them to offer water or tea, something to drink upon arrival. I did get a cold bottle of water after the massage which was appreciated and much needed. Also, there is a little room right through the entry to the hallway that was empty, a darker room with calm lights, and some aromatherapy it looked like. It would be nice if they let you wait in there, as opposed to the chairs in the lobby. It really would have complimented the whole visit. That said, I give 5 stars for Amanda. My wife has been at this location before and returned because she liked her first experience there. When she returned a few months later, she was a few minutes late and talking on her cell with the nanny, we have 2 1/2 month old son. The person at reception who turned out to be the owner was visibly upset and and reminded my wife she was late in a rude tone. My wife did not like his tone and replied accordingly, then left. I posted an email for the manager/owner about the incident unknown to us at the time that it was the owner who treated my wife so rudely, we thought he was an employee. I spoke to him on the phone with an open mind however by his tone, I recognized an attitude I seen before of a confrontational/manipulative person. He even tried to charge our credit card. Told me over the phone not to come back to his business which I agree 100% because the are more than a dozen other places I can go in Cypress alone. We have been at several other massage parlors in the area before and we never been treated this way. read more
