UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL (ST. JOHN MEDICAL CENTER)…read more This location of University Hospitals has several departments. The Physical Therapy unit is on the 3rd floor which is also the location for St. John's Medical Center. Westshore Primary Care (Westlake) is on the 2nd floor of this building. I did regular physical therapy here for my back for about 6 weeks. The PT that I saw was great. His name is Eric Jankov (DPT - Doctor of Physical Therapy). He asked me the right questions about my back and provided exercises I could do at home. I met with him twice a week from April 2018 - May 2018 for 45mins to an hour at each meeting. I had less back pain after my sessions. I just need to sit less at work; meaning, try to get up every hour to walk around...haha. I know we all struggle with sitting for too long during the work day. Also. I may be confusing both locations of University Hospitals on Detroit Road but I believe I came to this location for an X-Ray as well. Westshore Primary Care is on the 2nd floor and Physical Therapy is on the 3rd floor *** - 29 total reviews in 2019. - 239 total Yelp reviews. - Reviewed on 18 February 2019.

Wow. Impressed…read more Switching doctors is difficult for me, I have a weird sense of loyalty to all my doctors. But just like an ex boyfriend, if you can't meet my needs there are plenty of other fish in the sea. Chose this office because their close to home and all the online reviews were great. One thing that makes this place a great choice is convenience. Three floors jam packed with every kind of doctor you can imagine. They have primary care physicians, dermatologists, physical therapists, dietitians, podiatrists, radiologists and the list goes on and on. It's a one stop shop, unlike my previous doctor who had to outsource everything. Going to several different offices and waiting is a thing of the past for me now. I have never experienced such a high level of care, ever. I came in contact with at least 6 different employees, they were all shockingly pleasant. Everyone was helpful, happy to answer questions and likable. The doctor diagnosed a problem I have been having for years in less than 30 minutes with his bare hands. No x-rays, tests or samples needed. I feel terrible that at first I didn't believe him, since I had been diagnosed previously with something completely different. After he told me the problem and his advise fixed it, I realized that my doctor--he's the man. I have been recommending this place to everyone. If you are suffering and nobody is able to make you feel better (like I was), definitely come here for a second opinion. Once you call in and tell the receptionist what your concerns are she will get you with the right MD or DO (I saw a DO) and I'm pretty sure that these doctors are the 'elites' of the medical world. My research showed that only one in 5 doctors hold the title DO. They are able to diagnose, perform surgery and everything in between. They take a hands on approach and for me it got a little 'uncle touchy' but I have never came across a doctor who could tell me what's wrong with me by touching me everywhere and moving me about and asking me 'does this hurt, does that hurt' etc. Not only was I shocked that he figured me out so easily, everyone I have told is floored as well. Ever since my visit, I couldn't be happier. Thanks to my doctor and his team I have been doing great.

First of all I called and was on hold for over 30 minutes and no one answered. I called back and went through the same thing again. I called a third time and finally got through to someone. That individual was clueless as to what was going on with my scheduled procedure. She told me I was scheduled for a different procedure than the one that was ordered. When I explained I was supposed to get a different procedure she informed me I was incorrect. I called the Cleveland Clinic to verify what had been ordered and I was correct North Shore had me scheduled for the wrong test. I called them back and phone rang for 25 minutes straight and no one answered. I waited 45 minutes called back and had the same result. I then called the Cleveland Clinic back and they put me on hold and tried to contact North Shore directly. They came back on and told me the offices were closed, that was at 3:23 PM and North Shore states on their website they are open until 4:00 PM on Fridays. North Shore claims they have won awards and are highly acclaimed, based on my dealings with them it must be for gross incompetence and unprofessionalism. Do yourself a favor and stay as far away from this 'medical circus' as you can. From what I can see they couldn't care less about their patients only the patients insurance and their bottom line.

This was the worst experience I have ever had in a hospital and it could not have happened at a…read moreworse time - as my mom was dying in a hallway of the ER as there was not a bed or room available. Mom was in failing health and trying to rehab at the Brookside rehab center very close by. When it became clear she needed to go to the hospital, Brookside did not have transport available so the ambulance had to be called - so we had no choice but to have her go to St Johns. We would have never had wanted or picked to go here. Mom arrived around 6 AM. My brother got there at 7 AM. She was on a gurney in and out of consciousness in a hallway of the ER. There were twice as many people waiting to be seen in the ER than they had room for. She was tucked in next to the blanket warmer with one chair nearby. My brother stayed with her - around 4 PM he called me in Columbus to tell me there was nothing they could do - that she needed to go to hospice. But of course, hospice had no room for her. I packed my bags and got to the ER at 6:30 PM. She was still parked in the same spot. There was not room for us to be with her or we would be blocking traffic. My sister in law arrived a little later then my nephew and his girlfriend. We took turns standing near Mom and had to openly display our grief as we comforted each other and spent time with Mom. My SIL is a nurse and finally had had enough. After almost 14 hours on a gurney in the hallway in ER, my SIL advocated enough to get her sent to a private room. Once settled in the room, the staff was able to clean her up and get her comfortable. There was a breakroom near her room that we took turn hanging out in as it was too crowded for us in the room. My other nieces and nephew-in-law showed up during the night. The next job was to get her over to hospice. While we at least had some privacy to deal with our grief, it still was not as nice as the nearby hospice facility my dad had died at. Around 6 pm, they finally were able to transport her. I highly recommend you go some place else if you have any option. Even if you're dying, this is not a good place to go.

I have been going to Dr. Gerace for years, as has my family. Since being acquired by NOMS…read moreHealthcare, this location and its approach to being a 'patient first' facility has severely declined. My last two experiences have been disappointing to say the least. Last month I was traveling to California from Ohio for an entire month business trip. I didn't have my medication with me. I called them on a Friday at 3:45pm and explained that I needed a refill script sent to a local pharmacy. I was met with attitude and told that there was nothing she could do because she closed in a couple of minutes. When I asked when they closed, I was told 4pm, despite their phone tree that said 4:30pm. She said the phone tree was wrong and that I would have to wait until Monday for anything to happen. When I asked how people with life vital medicine get refills on Friday, she said they would have to wait until Monday. I was floored. 15 minutes to close and she refused to help a patient, even when I had all of the pharmacy information needed. I called back to get to their voicemail to see if the doctor would fill it during the weekend (common practice for docs to check their voicemails on weekend; so I'm told). Nobody called and I had to wait until Monday. I was told they were looking into the matter of the rudeness and inability to help. Nothing has been mentioned since. Most recently, I am back from my trip and require blood work to complete my credentials to work with a few hospitals. I needed to prove I had chicken pox as a kid. I was again met with attitude when trying to set this up. After playing the waiting game; I was told I was approved to get the blood work done, but I would have to go to an appointment first. Typically not a problem, but I was there less than 3 months ago for an appointment, and I'm on a time crunch. I was told they would not do the blood work until I went to the appointment. Essentially, they will not be reimbursed for their time for blood work; so they are making appointments mandatory with bloodwork to 'make it worth their while'. Again, as an organization that should be patient first, I felt anything but that. Do not waste your time trying to work with them, there are plenty of other general physicians in the area.

One month before my surgery, I was contacted and told the quote changed to $7,000. The quote was only good for 90 days. Although the quote did not state it was only good for 90 days, nor was I told verbally of this. The prices did not go up. This $2,200 increase was due to the doctor doubling the amount of time to do the procedure and reclassifying it from a minor procedure to a major procedure. There was not any changes from 5/14/25 to March 2026 that took place for this reclassification. I was told that the lady who gave me the quote was no longer employed there. This does not have any bearing because the doctor was the one who gave her the info to quote this procedure. No matter what the reasoning for this change, they should stand by what they originally quoted me . I saved up the money to have this procedure. I did not save the extra $2,200. I cancelled this procedure after waiting for months, scheduling the time off at my work, and having a friend schedule time off to help me. I am heartbroken that I had to cancel this procedure. I am very disgusted with the lack of respect, professionalism, and poor character of Joseph Khouri and the staff.

It was WAY better before he ever touched it. I had this surgery in 2018 and I currently still have stitches coming to the surface three years later. He did not come to see me after he operated on me. My shoulder post-operation split open less than a week after. Due to that, it didn't help and made everything worse. He blamed my genetics and spot of operation for the botched job. He offered (charged for it) to do laser treatments. The laser treatments made the scaring worse. It scarred the tissue and surrounding skin. Everything he has done made it worse. He's a nightmare. I would NOT recommend Dr. Khouri. Photos:
