Since I had some time to kill in the city that night, I figured I'd stop by to save me from a weekend trip to my normal place. I also knew it was going to be pricier than usual as it's in NYC but wow... I pull up and it's completely empty at 6PM. I tell them I need an outside wash/vacuum, and start to look at the sign with the pricing. The guy immediately waves me off and says to not look at that board because the prices aren't right.... He then opens my door and tells me there's so much dog hair that they can't just vacuum, they need to do a deep clean that will run me $100, or $200-$300 with shampoo and detailing. I tell him I definitely don't need that, and just the floor to be vacuumed. He tells me again that they don't just offer vacuum service and it has to be a deep clean. At this point I tell him no thank you and try to leave, but he again insisted I need a deep clean for $100. After telling him no a couple more times, he finally lets me leave. Save yourself the hassle and find a different car wash unless you're fine getting completely ripped off.

I learned this as I approached my car yesterday morning. I was parked underneath it. I felt attacked, ashamed & embarrased - the hood, windshield & front grill of my car was annihilated. At this point, I was only interested in a drive thru experience. I searched on Yelp & found Ultimate Car Wash. When I approached the gentleman at the entrance of the establishment, I made small talk & informed him that, "they got me bad". He glanced & said it may take more than one wash. My car at that point had been sitting under that tree for a few days & the temperatures went quickly from high 60's to low 30's. I went through the car wash (which is a blast, especially if you put a favorite song on & crank the volume), and at the exit point, there are 3-4 guys, they jumped on the car to dry it off. There were still a few spots that did not come off during the car wash - one guy took a razor blade to said spots on the windshield and used some elbow grease while drying the hood. For an attentive external cleaning & drying, the total came to around $14 (before tip). Definitely an easy & quick fix if you're looking to get your car washed. These guys were good!

Thought I lost my AirPods but was alerted by my phone that someone took it and turned it on at the car wash the next morning. Went back to the carwash and told them that someone turned it on 10 mins ago (based on "Find my" app) and at first the lead associate was about to turn me away till I told him some crazy story. Then he called the team and after telling them what I said, one associate basically led us back to my car and said he found something hidden in between the seat in my car (I guess it fell out of my belongings) and instead of leaving it in my car, took it out of my car and kept it in their workstation. Luckily I was able to claim back my tech but I'm ashamed that these people would not leave others belongings where they belong. Beware because these people may take your stuff in your car. Also, terrible job vacuuming, there's still cat fur everywhere in my car... maybe focus on your actual tasks instead of vacuuming someone else's valuables.

I would have thought that any reputable business who values its customers would have pointed this out VERBALLY i.e. discussed it with them! (especially a woman!) I then took it to a real repair shop and it turned out to need quite extensive repairs on the gaskets and oil parts. I don't mind paying the very high bill for the second repair, but I do not feel that I should have to pay for the first one, which was totally ineffective, since the repairs needed were beyond their scope and required another repair immediately after. I asked him for a refund but he said "I can't." I really feel entitled to a refund since they SHOULD HAVE TOLD ME TO MY FACE. Instead, I was left with a major problem that I had (wrongly) assumed had been fixed. Also the guy drove my car with the emergency brake on despite the pinging sound. Then he did it again on the way out! and which may have damaged it. Another guy told me there was nothing wrong with my car even though it was leaking like a sieve!
