She was so accommodating with my requests to modify arrangements on line to my liking and also was willing to decrease size to be within my budget. They used such fragrant flowers in the arrangements that the room smelled as beautiful as it looked...you just can't get the full experience of floral decor using fake flowers. Superb service. I arranged last minute for a mother's day bouquet with Laurelhurst Florist after my usual florist sold out early for the holiday. On the day of scheduled delivery the flowers were marked as delivered and I assumed that was the end of it. On Sunday afternoon my dad called me to let me know they hadn't seen any deliveries. I called and emailed Laurelhurst Florist to let them know my situation and dreaded the outcome since it seemed they wouldn't be opening until the following Monday. The owner personally called me back less than five minutes later and assured me that they would make this right. They delivered a lovely bouquet to my mother not long afterwards and saved the day. I used Laurelhurst for our wedding this past weekend and we were so happy with how our flowers turned out!! The arbor piece and my bouquet were SO beautiful! I thought the bouquet was pricey, but realized that's the going rate for bridal bouquets when I was looking at other options. Amy was really helpful, friendly and had the most patience with me when I went to a consultation to first meet her with my 2.5 year old. My daughter was a bit everywhere and distracting at times, but Amy was great! I showed her photos of what I was looking for and at my wedding I got EXACTLY what I wanted. I got several comments on how pretty the flowers were. I ordered my bridal bouquet, bridesmaids bouquets, boutoneirs, and a lot of DIY flower bunches. One of the main reasons why I went with Laurelhurst was for the DIY bunches! They are reasonably priced and I actually got more flowers than expected, that we didn't use them all. The decision to use Laurelhurst for our end of May wedding began after I was driving to work one morning and saw a big orange cat laying in the window next to flower displays, and became convinced this was a place I had to check out. I met with Amy (and the friendly shop cats) and explained my floral vision to her, and she had me look through some samples of white flowers and greenery and at the end of the meeting she seemed very confident that she understood what I wanted and would be happy do work with me, even though she had never before created the kind of hoop of greenery and flowers I wanted as my main centerpiece. I'm thrilled to say that everything turned out absolutely perfect, exactly what I wanted - greenery with white flowers for the tables, a big, fluffy white bouqet with peonies (they were a must for me, and the other florist I spoke with could not promise them) the matching corsages for the mothers, and of course that beautiful greenery hoop that we were married in front of. Nice location and every time I pass by I feel like going inside. I've been wanting to get some hanging lights for my little girl's room and the hanging lanterns/lights in the windows of the florist always catch my eye. I decided to go inside and had to basically wander around and find the girl working in the back....which wasn't even necessary, sine she knew NOTHING about the products being sold! She didn't even know how much they were, if they were getting new ones in, if we could buy the light with it - which made me wonder why she was even there if she couldn't help us with anything. My daughter got married at the Laurelhurst Club, right down the street on May 31, 2014. We had picked up her flowers earlier that day, from a different florist and stored them in a cooler. Unfortunately my daughter's Bridal Bouquet froze and we didnt see it until an hour and a half before the wedding. This is my all time favorite florist shop in Portland. All the arrangements I've gotten have been fragrant, fresh, and beautifully arranged every single time. The person who commented below, who said that their flowers weren't fresh, most likely doesn't know what fresh flowers actually look and feel like. These are extremely fresh, and typically last me close to a month. The florists who work in the shop are consistently friendly, helpful, and thoughtful.
