She never made me feel rushed, never made me feel like I had a dumb question and answered any questions I could have possibly had at every appointment. This was so assuring as a first time mom. I would recommend her to anyone and will absolutely go back and see her for my next pregnancy and also GYN needs. The nurses and ultra sound techs were also super nice!!! They have a large waiting room and only once during my pregnancy did I have to wait longer than 10-20 minutes to be called back. They do have a strict late policy and the one time I was late, the receptionist was a bit sassy, so make sure you are on time! A couple times she wasn't in the office so I had to see other providers. The mid wives I saw were all fabulous! I also saw Dr. Dehoff who I did not care for. It seemed like he was 'mansplaining' and I felt extremely rushed and like my questions weren't welcome. He said "do you have any questions as he opened the door to leave". I would not see him again but everyone else was amazing and I received the best care!!! When in the hospital delivering my daughter, the Dr's and mid wives from this practice were all really nice and listened to me/my concerns. Dr. Hyatt (only delivers babies, doesn't see office patients) was also very kind and great at his job. We love Dr. Wilson and Providence OBGYN!

However, because medical board complaints are not public, and because it is rare for doctors to face tangible consequences from such complaints, I view it as my duty to share this and inform Charlotte area women. My silence may protect me from harassment and retaliation, but it also protects doctors who are already protected by the institutions they work for. This only results in more women being hurt. So I am sharing this despite very being so frightened of what may come of it. On November 29, 2023, while sitting on my couch at home I started hemorrhaging bleeding through my pants on to my couch, scaring myself, my husband, and my boys. I was bleeding so much, I wouldn't have been allowed on a plane. I went to the Novant ER thinking I'd be treated promptly. I had an IUD and learned that I was pregnant with a blighted ovum (no fetal heartbeat, no baby, just an empty gestational sac). The on-call OBGYN was DeHoff. The next 15 hours were the worst of my life. It's hard for me to recount the events because one of the symptoms of the PTSD caused by those events is to feel like you're reliving them, so I am enclosing pictures of the complaint I filed against DeHoff with the NC Medical Board. You can see them in the practice pictures. Since I've started sharing this story, I've learned that a woman who I know from my sons' former preschool also filed a complaint against DeHoff with Novant and Providence OBGYN in September 2023, two months before I encountered him. This woman also informed her OBGYN Dr. Nora Arronte of her concerns regarding DeHoff and subsequently filed a complaint against DeHoff with the NC Medical Board, which is currently pending (like my complaint). Thus, Novant and Providence OBGYN (and at least one of Providence OBGYN's other physicians, Dr. Arronte) appear to have prior knowledge of this doctor's track record of harming women. My understanding is that since I submitted my complaint, De Hoff is no longer doing OB work, and is only doing GYN work. I do not know if this is as a result of the complaint, whether De Hoff has lost his hospital admission privileges or if this is the natural career progression of an aging doctor with multiple malpractice complaints pending before his licensing board. I am frightened to share this but view it as my civic duty to inform this community of someone I consider a public danger to women who remains employed by a "reputable" practice despite their apparent knowledge of his actions.

I am sure I am not the only person that is squeezing an appointment during typical work hours (starting eay to make up time missed). I was told there was a board that shows the status of the doctor. Never saw it before. Come to find out the board is a small board maybe 10x13 located at the back of the reception area. I finally get called in. I go into the room and I'm waiting and I'm waiting. I open the door and the medical tech said it may be 10 more minutes so with that while I tried to wait I had to leave. I do appreciate the med tech's understanding, but it wasn't enough for me to stay. I honestly think people should respect other people's time. It's as important as theirs. Nobody knows other people circumstances. . maybe if the reception is that are working at the desk did less chitchatting and talking about personal stuff and do their work. Maybe they could've told me that the doctor was running behind. I do find it very unprofessional when employees are sitting around doing other things, not representing their organization.. I would change doctors if I haven't been going to the same one for more than 25 years. Now I just have to figure out when I can schedule this again. I am not happy as you can probably tell.

I am from Chicago and I have had the same OB-GYN since I was 15 years old. He is nothing short of amazing and anything I ever needed he was there. His compassion, and consistency as a doctor was matched with my loyalty. I found out I was pregnant for my first time ever and I called a preferred women's clinic in Charlotte last Friday, and got in 9 am the next day for my first ultra sound. I made it clear I was coming to confirm my baby was ok, have my first ultra sound and get information on how to properly care for myself during pregnancy as I'm inexperienced. The person making my appointment was clear with my objective. I knew the place performed abortions but I didn't think anything about it because so does planned parenthood and they offer all types of health care there. Unfortunately, my experience was horrific. The ultra sound would be $85 out of pocket being that my health insurance doesn't kick in until January 1st. I get there and there are 100's of people lining the streets in protests of pro life versus pro choice. I was police escorted into the building with umbrellas over my face as people screamed at me, I got in, I paid $85. I wasn't allowed a purse or anyone in the room with me. The nurse put the cream on, performed the ultra sound and said I was 9 weeks, showed me the fetus image on the screen as well. I asked if I could have the pic of the baby and she said no. She said if I wanted the pic I had to pay $15 and call a number and they'd mail it to me in 4 weeks. Then I asked if my baby was ok and she said she couldn't tell me. I asked if she could give me any info on how to properly care for my baby and she said no. She had me wait at the end of the hall where I was surrounded by women on lazy-boy-type chairs with their legs up having abortions. Not out of judgement by any means but I was upset and knew I had been ripped off. The grand finale was the front desk receptionist walking out and nonchalantly asking me if I wanted to have an abortion. I said no, I explained I was there to make sure my baby was ok. I was again escorted to my vehicle with umbrellas over my face and as I tried to leave people were running up on my car screaming that I could reverse my abortion while trying to leave pamphlets on my car. So I got home and looked up the best OB-GYN's I could find and I came across Dr. Thomas Morris of Novant. I tried to make the appointment with him today and unfortunately could not get in to see anyone in the entire practice was booked until January. The front desk receptionist made it clear how important it was for me to get a proper ultra sound and care as immediately as possible. She then referred me to this Queen City OB-GYN. I called and tried to set up the appointment today for December. The receptionist was very nice, however, I feel the policies need to be revised. I asked for a range of what it will cost me out of pocket and she at first couldn't tell me then told me it will be $100 and up but didn't know any max out as it would depend on the Dr's orders. Then I asked for an ultra sound and she said I couldn't have one on my first visit. I asked why and she said because it's office policy and didn't explain further. So I asked if I could be contacted back by a nurse or doctor considering I'll be 3 months pregnant at this point and have had no proper care. I explained I would feel like any reputable doctor would have to treat it case by case and not as a one size fits all. She said being that I'm not an actual patient yet and it will be my first visit no one could advise me at this time. She then booked me out for my December visit- which has me so unnerved as ALL I WANT TO DO IS MAKE SURE MY BABY IS 100% OK and I surely do not have confidence going into this that this appointment that I'll be paying this mysterious fee for will be able to satisfy. I'm very disappointed today and all I want is a phone call or contact info back so that I can feel at ease. I feel like a loyal long term potential relationship from a patient is worth far more than the perceived inconvenience of a staff call back. Thank you for hearing me out. I hope to have a great visit here and I hope to have all my needs met as this should be an exciting time in my life..

We love and care for her greatly. The practice has been fantastic as well. This year, our daughter is with twins and at approx 32 weeks , she was in distress. She called for some direction and a nurse2 named " Paisley " was not only somewhat rude to a pregnant woman in distress but appeared to be new or lacking knowledge. She directed her to Primary care. When she arrived at the primary care in Denver NC, they were so very kind but perplexed as to why she was sent there. They examined her and recommended to check with the OBGYN. Paisley again said no, so my daughter called CMC and they got her back right away. They did their thing in checking her out and found one of the children's heart rate would dip and come back. This happened several times. The doctor, whoever she is, should get an award, but I am sure, God will reward her, for she said for those babies to come out right away. It is an answer to our prayers for comfort and relief for our daughter and child because the placenta detached from the mother (happens in only 1% of people). Surely, the child would have not made it. Happy we went to CMC yet we are so sad and somewhat let down, that someone like Paisley is giving instructions to folks who are in jeopardy. Wake up Paisley. Seek wisdom, knowledge, ask for a mentor and maybe some phone side manner. We do not hate you, but we hope you get what you need to help expecting mothers and do not waste time because there may not be enough time, as it almost was here. PS, We know, not thought , that this should be reviewed by the people who look into these neglects of duty and of course, like the rest of the world, they ok'd how Paisley handled this and we know this to be FALSE.
