I try would be extremely helpful to know when checking in that the doctor you are scheduled to see is running behind. I am sure I am not the only person that is squeezing an appointment during typical work hours (starting eay to make up time missed). I was told there was a board that shows the status of the doctor. Never saw it before. Come to find out the board is a small board maybe 10x13 located at the back of the reception area. I finally get called in. I go into the room and I'm waiting and I'm waiting. I open the door and the medical tech said it may be 10 more minutes so with that while I tried to wait I had to leave. I do appreciate the med tech's understanding, but it wasn't enough for me to stay. I honestly think people should respect other people's time. It's as important as theirs. Nobody knows other people circumstances. . maybe if the reception is that are working at the desk did less chitchatting and talking about personal stuff and do their work. Maybe they could've told me that the doctor was running behind. I do find it very unprofessional when employees are sitting around doing other things, not representing their organization.. I would change doctors if I haven't been going to the same one for more than 25 years. Now I just have to figure out when I can schedule this again. I have been a patient of Dr. Witten's now for a few years and I can not say enough about her. She is amazing in so many ways. She genuinely cares about her patients and is committed. It's weird writing a review for a doctors office, but honestly, eastover is a wonderful practice within CMC. Dr. Deane and Dr. Matkins have been my personal favorites (I have been going to Dr.Deane since moving to Charlotte), but since becoming pregnant, you get rotated through the whole staff. This is because they want you to feel comfortable with whichever doctor is there when the baby is due. The ultrasound technicians are very kind and answer all your crazy, odd questions and do it with a smile. The nursing staff that I have come in contact with is always efficient and caring, making you feel comfortable throughout your visit. I can also say that I have never had to wait there. If my appointment is at 4, they take you at 4 (alright maybe 4:05), but they are timely and respectful of your appointment. If you're doctor shopping, be sure to add Eastover to your list! read more

I am SO pleased with this office! Clearly, as a woman, we hate to go to these types of visits, but with a doctor like Dr. Jerry Matkins, it makes it much easier. I've been seeing Dr. Matkins for 3 years now... The front office staff & the appointment scheduler are efficient & friendly. Dr. Matkins & his nurse are as nice as they can be & understanding. I love that each yearly visit, I get in the office & there's no wait, no long, awkward waiting in the room & the verbal consult at the end is quick. When moving to CLT less than a year ago I was recommended to come to Dr. Kalich by my cousin. I am so happy I'm in such wonderful care. My husband and I are not pregnant yet, but I know that when the time comes Dr. Kalich will be a great dr and I'll feel totally at ease under her care. The staff is all incredibly friendly and the office itself is very clean. Parking is a little confusing, but it's a covered deck and free ...so no complaints here! I really enjoyed my time with Dr. Kalich! She ended up birthing my son and I am very pleased that it ended up this way. She is kind, patient and caring. Dr. Deane on the other hand - I did not like her at all. As a pregnant female, one should be treated kindly and kept stress free. Dr. Deane just argued with me all the time about how I was telling her that I felt. I pushed 42 weeks a few days before she would set up an induction. I kept telling her I was in pain and she did nothing but fight it. I had to bring my mother in to speak to her because by the time I had my last appointment, I was tired and almost physically unable to go at it with her... I would not recommend her. If you're looking for a great doctor with the bedside manner of a angel on earth....Dr. Nicholson is your guy. He is so compassionate and caring towards his patients.....he takes his time answering questions and you never feel rushed......he has to be one of the best in the Charlotte area. In addition to that, this office has a great staff that is always very professional and very thorough. I have other doctors that have me waiting 30 to 45 minutes after my appointment time but Eastover does not play that, no waiting games here, ever. This was sooooo much better than the OBGYN office I went to before for my annual (Novant Health/Mintview). Ann Osborne (nurse practitioner?) had such a great bedside manner. The nurse was very friendly as well. There was a wait once I was in the exam room (about 45 minutes) because they were running late, but that's pretty typical with doctors' offices. Ms. Osborne answered all my questions and I didn't feel rushed at all. Very good experience! Tip: Park in the parking deck and when you're on the 3rd level, walking along the skywalk to the other building, where you will find elevators that take you to the fourth floor for Morehead Medical Office (or Plaza, I can't remember). They will validate your ticket at the front desk. read more

Most unprofessional practice ever especially Dr S Pollack. She examined me said I needed surgery for an ovarian cyst and she would schedule a date.She also ordered lab work but CMA didn't read the order so I had to make a second trip back for that. When I called to check on lab results and to see if surgery had been scheduled the CMA casually told me that Dr Pollack couldn't do it. I have never heard from MD herself. Unfortunately I've just had negative experiences with this office. Dr Deane is very nice and quick which I like but I changed birth control pills to be on one with a Lower dosage of hormones and ever since then I've had my period nonstop which I don't think is healthy and Of course is very uncomfortable: comes with constant cramps. She told me I may experience some spotting but did not warn me about constant bleeding, Or I wouldn't have changed. After a few months of this I called to have them change the BC and they said the new one I was on was a really low dose so seems strange to make sign a big jump and I'm not a doctor but seems it may be why I've been bleeding so much. the new prescription they gave me now hasn't helped the situation and I've been playing phone tag with a nurse for over a week and now have no way of knowing what to do to stop this constant bleeding. When I call they say they can only have a nurse call me back I can't speak with one until then. When they call and I don't pick up because I'm working and can't, they leave a msg saying to call back, even though I've left detailed messages asking for an answer to this dilemma not just a msg saying to call them back. I recently switched to Eastover OB from another practice and absolutely love them! Dr Bruce Taylor could not be anymore professional and uplifting. Me and my husband have been trying to conceive for about a year, and after looking at my previous file he set a plan of action and I am now pregnant. It is so nice to be listened to and taken seriously by a Dr. He also did the quickest and least painful pap I have ever had. Generally happy with the practice and the majority of doctors. However, i do NOT recommend Dr Hutcheson. She was the doctor on site for my delivery. I was induced the night prior. Dr Hutcheson started at 8am and probably spent less than 5 mins with me during the first 12 hrs of her shift while I was in active labor (despite my asking to see a doctor several times). She was not even present for the birth of my daughter - instead, my baby was delivered by the RN and an inexperienced assistant. What is most heart breaking is that we were planning on cord blood registry. Dr Hutcheson not only failed to capture an adequate sample, but she failed to secure the kit properly (she did not tie off the sample, seal the bag, or follow the provider instructions). Horrible experience with Dr Hutcheson, and sadly regret delivering my child during her shift. read more

I saw Dr. Taylor at Eastover obgyn arboretum. I went in for an issue that I was having. I was in and out in 8 minutes. He DID NOT give me the time of day. He walked in the room and didn't even let me explain the issue I was having. He had a preconceived idea in his head and that was that. He totally misdiagnosed me and I ended up in the urgent care 3 days later. Urgent care was more than helpful and did a thorough exam. He misdiagnosed because he didn't take the time to listen to me. I was told to see my regular obgyn ASAP for more tests. I saw my awesome Dr. Susan Brown today that diagnosed the problem and treated it with the proper treatment. I would NEVER go to Dr. Taylor. He is retiring at the end of the year but he has already mentally and medically retired. My question is how many others has he misdiagnosed? This scares me. read more

After having a procedure done with a dr at the cancer center Dr. Nicholson took the time to talk to me before my exam and answer any and all questions I had. I started going to Eastover when I found out that I was 7 months pregnant, they were kind and curious for the most part but because of the way the office works you do get a different doctor almost every time you are in. Even though I was there almost every week for the last three months of my pregnancy I rarely saw the same doctor and that makes it kind of hit or miss. Some of the doctors I worked with were really great. Dr. Matkins, who I saw on my first and last visit was really wonderful, very re-assuring and straightforward. Dr. Lucas, who delivered my baby girl and saw me twice in office + afterwards for my follow up was also really nice, if a little buisiness-like. The Ultrasound tech is amazing and will really take the time with you. On the other end of the spectrum, the NP Ann Osborn was horrible. I almost walked out of the appointment, she spent the entire time reading information off to me like a script and made me feel like I was inconveniencing her by being there. She also refused to answer any of my questions, saying instead that I could just come to the class she teaches. Don't judge the entire practice by her, but if you get her for an appointment I would definately ask for another doctor. The practitioners deliver at CMC main, so you will have a doctor that knows your history when you go in. If you want personalized attention then this probably isn't the practice for you but if you just want tests/procedures done right then I highly recommend them. read more

I began my care with Dr. Matkins, but, as a prenatal patient, I rotated through almost every physician at the Morehead location. I don't have anything negative to say about these guys. I'll continue coming here, and, when she's old enough, I'll be bringing my daughter here, as well. Kinda bummed I don't need to see a doctor for another 8 months. Imagine my surprise at receiving a $136 bill when I stopped by to ask my doctor if it was ok to get pregnant on my anxiety medicine. He said "no," gave me a pamphlet on family planning, and sent me on my way. Ironically something similar happened earlier on a previous visit where I paid in full, out of pocket for an exam. After several phone calls and weeks of struggles on the phone, it is still not solved, the itemize billing still has not materialized, I am out nearly $400 and still getting bills that are murky and unclear on what I am paying for and why it was not discussed up-front. read more

I know rotating doctors are typical for pregnancies but this particular place has a ton... so be prepared to never really know any of the doctors. Most of the doctors were very rushed and seemed to not ever want to answer my questions or hear what I had to say without me feeling my questions were stupid. One of my appts was toward the end of the day and the Dr was late coming in my room, I literally spent 2 minutes with her and was still trying to ask her questions as she was walking out the door. I'm a first time mom... forgive me if I have no idea what I'm doing and have questions! I also have scoliosis and I was very nervous about it. Each time I met a Dr, they had no idea I even had it, like they didn't even look at my chart before coming in. There is one girl in particular at the front desk who has NO clue what she's doing. When I decided to switch facilities because of this one being so chaotic, I still had one appt left. I explained to someone over the phone that I would be switching but I would still need to come for my last visit. I arrive on time just to find out she CANCELLED my appt! The girl at the front scrambled to get me in and I didn't even see an OB, it was PA. And honestly, she was better than any doctor I had seen there. That same day (same receptionist), I filled out a form to release my records to the new place. My appt was coming up with them and they still hadn't received my paperwork. I called Eastover and after being on hold for 25 minutes I found out that they had LOST my form and had no idea that they were suppose to be sending my records to anyone. I'm glad I called otherwise I was waiting for something that never would have happened. The best thing about this place is the nurses. I'm glad I switched and so happy with where I'm at not for the duration of my pregnancy. read more

New patient. At 10 weeks I complained of possible yeast infection. Np diagnosed yeast infection and bacterial infection. Yet told me not to take any of the prescribed medication for 10 days bc I was so early....I asked her are u sure this should be left untreated for 10 days. She insisted. After unbearable discomfort and worry regarding bacterial infection worsening, I called an actual physician and asked if this is the correct course of treatment and of course they said absolutely NOT. Begin treating the infections immediately. That was strike 1. At 15 weeks I returned for my monthly visit and complained of yet another yeast infection and pertinent bleeding. I explained it all to nurse prior to seeing a new face (dr Taylor). He then comes in and like speed racer takes his vaginal sample to test for yeast in literally 15 seconds flat. Never once asking how are things considering he obviously never read the chart prior to speeding through my appointment time. Once over he left abruptly and returned saying I had no yeast infection. I then said well I also have the bleeding mentioned in my chart and to nurse. He dismissed me once again saying he wasn't going to re-examine me since he didn't know before his quickie exam and that likely I had a hemmoroid which I knew I didn't have and which insisted wasn't the location of my bleeding. No yeast and no worries about the blood, see ya. I made another appointment the following day at Charlotte obgyn - I have a yeast infection which was obvious upon exam and the blood raised concern as well. An immediate ultrasound revealed complete placenta previa which requires important restrictions and trauma to the cervix. What a lazy and unprofessional physician dr Taylor turned out to be. If there was something less than a one star, I would have gladly given them that. The doctors except for dr. Boyd Parks were Ok. I don't know why he calls himself a doctor. The other staff members were horrible to say the least. The ultrasound technicians act as though they are MD's. they have attitude problems. Simple questions around measurements made during scans were not answered. Some of the nurses were really rude. They did not have the basic courtesy of talking to us when my wife was being examined. Nurses and doctors never gave the complete picture of some of the tests. We collected the reports of some of the tests on a later date and the Dr's notes had things that he never mentioned to us during our consultation. Their adherence to schedule was hopeless. Every single visit the doctors were late, and late by not 10 to 15 minutes, consistently 30-45 minutes. Both me and my wife work and we constantly got delayed because of these people's lack of respect for others time. We are shortly moving out of town and I am glad that I don't have to see these idiots again. I will miss Charlotte but definetly not this practice. Shame on Eastover OB/GYN. read more

Worst practice I have ever dealt with! I was a patient for 14 years and delivered one baby with them without issues. In the last 3 years, since the birth of my son, they have gone downhill drastically. Their practice got too big for quality care. They have poor patient care, total disregard for patient concerns, and a shady way of screening and billing. They misdiagnosed my pregnancy at 7 weeks even after doing a full vaginal exam, put me on medicine that should have made me miscarry, pushed me around cancelling appointments 4 times, did blood work and screenings later than they should have due to their cancellations on me, constantly blamed a "new system", and then made me take on $700 in costs (after insurance!) from their failures. They fight for each other, not for you! DO NOT USE EASTOVER! They didn't even care to lose a long time patient, which tells me that I never meant anything to them. If you want an actual relationship with your doctor that will truly listen to you and not rush you out the door or literally leave your room to go see another patient mid exam, then you need to go somewhere else. read more
