Then the hairdresser called in the owner Michelle for advice on how to proceed. Michelle was adamant about 3 color changes otherwise my hair couldn't be done. Before starting I asked about pricing and Michelle said it would be at least $225 without style or cut. Fine but I only had $200 and I really needed a cut. So I asked her if we can just do one process and the cut instead. Or if i needed to call my husband so he can bring more cash. The place didn't take credit cards or so i was told. At that point, michelle got snappy and told me that I don't appreciate the work that needs to be put in. Also that it would take a whole day. And concluded that and I quote: " we won't provide any services for you, thank you, you can go" I asked about getting a haircut but she insisted. " no, I'm not comfortable having the stylist working on your hair. I don't want you to blame us or write a bad review" I was in tears. I was not offered other option, no one suggested anther appointment. Once I walked out, I went to the Salon at Macy's in Collierville. A young lady named Gabrielle took me in and in two hours, and a free deep treatment and a superb pixy cut I was platinum blonde no brass no ruined hair and it was $80. I left Gabrielle a 50% tip I was so happy. Here attached are the pics from my haircut and color at the salon @ Macys NOT at ALa Mode. So unless you want to spend a boat load of $$$ for something that can be done elsewhere faster better and with less BS and pretentious airs - stay away. Not to mention that the receptionist in question was Michelle's daughter and she simply hung up on my husband when he called to get an explanation for why I was so distraught. Twice. There are better salons and better mannered and skilled real professionals out there.

Jessica's attitude from the start was horrible!! Her tone, her face expressions to say the least the night before I sent her pics of a couple of blonde highlights. I was undecided between the two pictures so I said let me get the pics she said with a strong tone You Don't Have To Take Out The Pics I Got It! I said it's not for you it's for me once I looked at the pictures I said whatever color is fine with me. With the same strong tone Jessica said What Do You Want? I tried to overlook her, maybe it was too early for her to put her best foot forward to make some helpful suggestions. Jessica said let me do a strain test on you I said okay and she rubbed her hands through my hair then she said let me go ahead and shampoo you because you have product in your hair and I said I only have leave in conditioner as we were walking to the shampoo bowl she turned and looked at me and said WHY?? With a Stronger tone as if she was talking to a little child who went outside without their parents permission. I said That's what I do when I shampoo my hair I put a leave-in. My tone got a little stronger at that point. I didn't do it for you, you did not tell me to come shampooed no product I'm at a salon so I don't know what you do here. At that point Jessica and the owner went to the back to mix up the color I assume. I sat there for 3 minutes as time went on I was replaying how she was handling me from the start. I asked myself... Do you want to spend close to $200 today for highlights a cut and flexi rods to be talked to like that. Jessica was so unprofessional she treated me as if she was doing me a favor for free and I didn't appreciate it. As I got up to leave I told the receptionist to let Jessica know that her Attitude Need to Improve before I let her work on my hair! Over 2 hours after I left the salon I received a voicemail from The Owner apologizing saying she don't know why we clashed ( Really)?? I was so surprised the owner was apologizing instead of Jessica. That just goes to show Jessica's character she thought she did nothing wrong and she wasn't going to put her pride to the side just to apologize for any wrongdoing or to see if I was okay. I definitely made the right choice to leave. This doesn't take away from the owner or the other employees because the receptionist was really polite and another stylist in the back was very polite just beware of Jessica.The owner said this was the first time this has happened maybe at her shop ( Not convinced) Jessica was too comfortable in her skin (So Very Rude) to have not done this to other people at this salon and others salons. Through it allI was Blessed today I left Bartlett and went back to Cordova to an Awesome Salon with Amazing Beauticians. I got a haircut with a silk press it turned out Beautiful even though I didn't get the color I'm still satisfied! Would love to post the salon but I'm afraid Jessica will come find me!
