The best experience! Dr. Majda and her assistant Carla are absolutely beyond praise. They are true professionals with extensive experience in dentistry. The results of their work have always exceeded my expectations. They are very careful, polite, and honest -- they never try to push procedures or treatments that are not needed. The prices are fair, they have a very flexible approach to patients, the office is clean and comfortable, and the atmosphere is truly friendly. In my case, Dr. Majda literally changed my life for the better. She created an individual treatment plan for me and adjusted it to fit my schedule. I am sincerely grateful and confidently recommend them! read more

Hi, Back in 2008 I visited Dr. Majda for a cleaning appointment. I was brand new to San Francisco at the time and for the most part things went well. The were however 2 issues - needless to say I now longer go here: 1. Billing was not very clear. There were several hidden costs. I signed up for something simple, and got a bill for something way beyond my expectations. Bottom line, make sure you know the cost up-front!! Talking to a friend that went there as well, he has similar issue. 2. She had recommended a deep-cleaning session (more expensive than normal stuff) and I though was ok... After the cleaning was done, I developed a pain on one of my right upper molars. After several visits, she could not find the problem. I ended up having to go to another dentist to fix it. I would have given 3 stars if the issue #2 was resolved. Probably 4 stars if the billing was clear and expectations were set up front. --alex read more

I'm one of those shmucks that has had dental coverage most of my life but avoided the dentist like the plague. I'm truly afraid of them and hate the lectures about flossing and no matter how you brush you're doing it wrong. I had a molar crack on me on the weekend and Kaiser referred me to 1-800-Dentist, and they hooked me up with Dr. Majda. She opened her office at 8pm on a Sunday night to help relieve my suffering. And I'll say it was a very reasonable price for her doing such a benevolent gesture. She put a temp filling in my crack which fixed the problem and had me come back 2 days later for a temporary crown. I was so pleased with her bedside manner that I decided to do a deep cleaning and some minor cosmetic work. Bottom line, if you hate going to the dentist, go see Dr. Majda and the ever so nice folks at Laurel Dental Spa. No lectures, flexible appointments, and prices that are downright shockingly low for Laurel Heights. Be sure to bring $4 in quarters for 2 hours of meter parking! read more

LAUREL DENTAL SPA ROCKS Dedicated, Talented Doctor Major Insurers Accepted Flexible Scheduling Straightforward Billing Dr. Majda has created a refreshing and calm oasis in her office. Much of the calm comes directly from Majda herself who is direct, professional and very caring. In addition, everyone at Laurel Dental Spa is focused on helping you. You can (and will) have a warm aromatherapy eye or neck pillow; or maybe all you need is a soft blanket. In any case, the environment at Laurel Day Spa is relaxing - exactly the opposite of my expectations. As a professional, Dr. Majda, uses care and takes time to be thorough. I appreciate this extra time and effort. I really feel like all of my teeth have been considered and analyzed. Dr. Majda also dedicated specific time during our first evaluation to educate me on the current state of my teeth and gums. I have never been walked through the status of my teeth, tooth by tooth. I found the experience to be very motivating (I will floss!!!). read more

Thank you Dr Majda for fixing my bite and saving my tooth! I'm someone who thought they had a good oral hygiene. Cleanings 2-3 times a year, etc. My dentist of 15 years retired and I got lost in the shuffle. Fast forward 2 years and I had a loose front tooth! Dr Majda showed me high resolution photos of my teeth. Apparently, I'm a grinder. Thank you for repairing 6 teeth, opening up my bite, getting me a night guard and now the front tooth is becoming stable again. She's very skilled. read more

I've been going here for years, and the place is a dream come true! So friendly, so helping and accommodating!

I have spent years and years at the dentist and couldn't be more scared when seeing a dentist. This is the first office where I am comfortable and want to keep coming. The entire time I am informed on what dr.m is doing. I couldnt be happier, she is the sweetest woman. Her work speaks for itself :) she takes pictures of your teeth before she cleans as well as after so you can see the work she did. It's super cool to see all the plaque disappear. Definitely erased years of not seeing a dentist in one appointment! read more

I have to agree with some of these poor reviews. Dr. Majda is a very sweet woman and the office is very nice and updated with all the bells and whistles - but the actual dentistry is just not up to par. She made several suggestions for additional fillings and replacement fillings that I had never heard from another dentist. I finally agreed and had a filling done months ago but I wasn't numb when the drilling began and I flew out of my chair when she hit a nerve. The filling has been bothering me for months. I've now switched dentists and they will be replacing her work. It's unfortunate because it's a lovely place but I just can't put my mouth in their hands any longer. read more

This place is great! I needed to get in for my wisdom teeth and after moving around a couple appointments and complaining of pain and swollen cheeks they took me in this evening! I got there at 5pm and they stay even later which is great for people who work. The receptionist who talked to me on the phone and helped me with paperwork when I got there was so sweet and caring. It didn't take long for me to see Dr. Majda, especially considering I was basically a walk-in, and she also was tentative and genuinely concerned about me. The actual spa itself is very relaxing and comfortable. I don't have dental insurance and prices were not bad at all compared to other places in SF. I will definitely be back for my regular cleanings, as soon as I get some insurance of course :) read more

Just over 2 years later, I have to have my root canal redone. My new dentist referred me to a root canal specialist who was appalled at the low quality of work, and made it clear she did not follow basic, standard procedure. read more

Oh the dentist is so sweet and nice. Very motherly - you almost expect hot chocolate chip cookies. I absolutely loath the dentist. I cried through my first cleaning because that awful noise is enough to make anyone insane. But Dr. Madja was patient and kind. My second visit for a more evasive deep cleaning was perfectly pleasant. She might just cure me of my fears. her assistant Michael is divine as well. read more

Being a dental professional myself, I can honestly say that the best compliment a business can get is if other dental professionals go there for treatment themselves. I am one of several dental professionals that I know of who get treatment from Dr Majda and here is why: -atmosphere: beautiful office, soothing colors, no "dental office" smell -qualitiy of care: having worked with many dentists in the past, I can count on one hand the number of dentists I can trust with my dental care, and Dr Majday is at the top of that list. I read a previous review where the reviewer said that her teeth hurt for a long time after her cleaning. As a Dental hygienist I can authoritatively say, that if your "cleaning" is painlesss or without slight discomfort, your are not getting your teeth cleaned. Your are getting a phony cleaning. You can probably remove everything the "phony" cleaning removes with a toothbrush and dental floss at home. A real cleaning involves using hand instruments and going into the space between the gum and tooth. And that my friends is not discomfort free. Of couse, the more build up or the longer you've gone without cleaning the more discomfort you'll experience. Buy I digress, read more

Dr. Majda is such a nice, sensitive dentist! She wants very much to make you comfortable, checking in with you often over the course of treatment. Her crown work from temp to permanent was the best I ever had. She's warm and talks in terms you can understand. I'm making her my regular dentist from now on (been there four times). AND she has pictures of Cary Grant and other greats on her walls. Thanks, Dr. Majda! read more

So far, Dr Majda has been the only dentist I've actually enjoyed going to. From regular cleanings to removing my wisdom teeth, Dr Majda makes every visit a pleasure. The office is pristine and beautiful, with all the high-tech dentist gear you can imagine down to miniature digital cameras to take snapshots inside your mouth that you can see right away on the big screen in front of you. Both Dr Majda and Samira, the office manager, are a a joy to be around and you will always get a thorough explanation of the work that is being done, which I particularly like and find that not a lot of doctors fill you in on the details as well as Dr Majda does. She has even gone as far as coming in for me on the weekend when my schedule was particularly busy. Five stars all around, can't wait for my next cleaning! read more

DO NOT USE THIS DENTIST! Did work on a tooth that had chipped but had no pain. Post work, the tooth began to hurt terribly. She refused to take any responsibility for the issue & instead told me there would need to be more work done! The whole time she was trying to talk me into extensive dental work, cooing & calling me "sweetheart" in a condescending tone. She said she would not have me pay but billed the insurance company anyway. When I called the office her receptionist said that it was not me paying. Are you kidding me? It is me paying via my insurance. This sounds like fraud. Keep away from this office. You will save yourself a lot of pain & misery. read more

So impressed! Dr. Majda was incredibly warm and inviting. That "boutique-style healthcare" thing comes naturally to her. She did my entire appointment herself, from x-rays to cleaning (I've never even heard of a DDS doing that before). She took me along every step of my care -- showed me x-rays and pictures of my mouth and told me what she saw and what she'd be doing about it. Her office is impressively modern (and color-coordinated!). Saturday and evening appointments available. I'd recommend her to anyone. read more

I was canceled on and then overcharged for cavity fills. When I say overcharge I mean by the thousands. I spent over 3k on 6 cavity fills done by shakey hands. I had never had a cavity before in my life and didn't even think to get a second opinion, now I am really regretting it. My teeth hurt still a week later. After having my calls not returned for reschedules Dr. Chang was responsible for I decided this was not the place for me to invest any more time and money on. I was really looking forward to working with Dr. Chang with 6 month smile, but am finding myself having to find a new orthodontist for the job. Super bummed I waited a really long time. read more

If you don't mind having your teeth ground to nubs and spending thousands of dollars reparing her work (that was unnecessary in the first place) maybe she's the dentist for you. I would give this place negative stars if I could. The dentist outright lied about the number of cavities my kids had (confirmed by their current dentist), ruined three of my teeth and grossly overcharged me. Last night, yet another one of the caps she put on (that I didn't need) has broken off. Meanwhile I have a cap from a UC Dental student that has lasted for 30 years. It's easy to get an appointment because she fucks up your teeth. read more

Dr. Majda and her staff are very caring and know their job well! Very friendly and professional.
