I needed to get sole legal custody of my son for passport purposes. His father/my ex-husband was in agreement that me having legal custody was in our son's best interest, so he agreed to sign. I contacted Laura and she had the paperwork ready within a day. I picked it up, had him sign, and brought it back to her for filing at the OC court (where our divorce was finalized). Since we were in agreement, the process was easy. The judge signed off on it and sole legal custody was given to me in less than a month! I was struggling to get my divorce stuff done. I was told numerous things by different people and was trying to manage it myself, because I was embarrassed that it was even happening. One day at the courthouse after they told me numerous things to do and what I didn't do right... I had to find someone. Thanks the Lord for Internet on our phones. Laura was excellent with my case. She is pricey compared to other paralegals BUT she is knowledgeable answers quickly and is always available when you have any questions. The only thing I advise is it's a must you review your forms before you finalize and file your documents. Ultimately it was my mistake for 1 minor request. I read the documents and there were some typos that I had her correct, but it did not affect my case at all.just about everything for my custody battle I was granted. If you give her enough evidence and you kept a detailed log of your issues she can help put it together for the courts to grant your request. She was great at advising what documents were necessary. I am very glad I trusted what other people posted on Yelp because I couldn't have found better help and the better price. The process of a divorce is painful even when the two parties are in agreement and I imagine heart-wrecking when there are disputes. We were lucky to be in agreement and to have found Laura. With all honesty I have to say that even my ex-husband was happy that I chose her to help with the paperwork. We know a few couples that have been with their attorneys for YEARS and have paid over $15 - $20, 000.00 and not finished yet. My divorce took about 6 months (it could of been less time, but with the government shut-down and holidays, it took longer) Laura kept in touch and let us know in what step of the process it was and approximate dates.
