    Coal Cats Cafe

The coffee selection was decent for a cat cafe with a big selection of flavor syrups to add to your drink. The little gift shop was fairly priced and had a lot of unique things. I loved the little black cat mascot, as we have a few furry voids at home. There was about 16 cats in the room when we went on a Saturday afternoon. You can tell they are well taken care of and that the staff cleans very frequently in there. With the 3 of us and the other family we had enough room that we didn't feel jammed in. There was one orange cutie that kept trying to knock my Niece's drink off the windowsill, and a precious long haired grey cat that claimed my husband's lap for the last half of the hour. We were given wet treat tubes to feed them which all the cats went nuts for and there were plenty of feather wands and toys for us to interact with the ones who wanted to play. The coal theme plays in perfectly to the area and the wagon appears to be the hang out area for the cats. It was a fun experience we plan to do again soon. It's a great cause (socializing and getting cats adopted) and the owner is obviously passionate about the mission.

Their goal is to find homes for these adorable felines and so far have placed 24 cats into forever homes in just three months. As Ron mentioned, you don't do this kind of business to get rich. I think it's more of a vocation. There is coffee and packaged treats available for sale. Not only that but a selection of T shirts, and fun toys for your favorite feline. The real stars here are the wonderful cats. I personally love how the owners tied in the Coal Region history into this modern forward thinking (in all the right ways) business. You will sign a waiver to enter (customary) the cat area. It is themed with all things Coal, like a mine decoration, pick axe and even a "coal wagon" delivery wagon (the cats seem to love it). We stopped by in passing but you may reserve time online. The number of people permitted is six maximum. The only other such cafe I knew of was in Philadelphia. I believe thanks to Covid and lockdowns that went under. The owners are enthusiastic about helping animals and customers visiting. Please support this incredible business and bring your little ones and friends to enjoy these sweet creatures. I did not get pictures of the entrance room but it is organized and colorful.

You got clothing, accessories like house colored ties, socks and hair bows, wands, housewares, books, toys etc. There's also a small section for New York exclusives like t-shirts, mugs and socks. Design is black and gold with the words Harry Potter New York on it. I got a pair of socks for $8.00....not bad. For those who live near a Universal Studios, you will see some items here that they also sell in the theme parks. There's also a small cafe area for your pastries and drinks. My friend got a mini sized "happee birthdae harry" pink cake + pumpkin juice. I had a sip of the pumpkin juice and it tasted like thick consistency apple juice. It's not bad but it's not something I would personally order. When it comes to the food items, think novelty over quality. It's good for the 'gram, ya know? There's one single bathroom is located on the second level. Be sure to check out the Dark Arts/green Slytherin room. Plenty of photo ops in this store.

This is one of the most laid back and peaceful spaces I've been to. You pay a nominal fee to visit a room full of free roaming cats, all of which are adoptable. The money paid helps to support the care and upkeep of the animals, preventing euthanasia in local shelters. I highly recommend the tiramisu latte which is rich and delicious! There are some snacks light fare such as quiche slices, pastries, etc. to enjoy. Some think the price is too high but I believe it's certainly worth it to support such a great cause. The facility is extremely clean and well kept and service is always prompt and efficient. There are additional items for sale such as pet-friendly house plants, prepackaged coffee from local coffee farmers, pet toys, hoodies, T-shirts, tote bags, note cards, etc. All these items help to sustain the mission of the business. You can reserve your time in the cat room either prior to your visit or during. Check out their website and facebook page for more information and details. Please consider to take a break, slow down, have a cup of comfort and maybe you'll just find a new fur-ever friend.

For example, when I first went there, I'd never been to a laundromat before and was quite nervous so I had some rather obvious and silly-sounding questions, like how to exchange bills for quarters, but the gentle woman behind the counter patiently answered my questions and made me feel welcome. As well, I've only ever seen her and other people who work there treat their customers fairly and courteously. I'm grateful for the people at Richard's Laundromat.

I did one load there where I even mixed darks and lights because one I was pressed for time (couldn't wait for another load) and two I was pressed with the price. So the following weekend I went online and found a few options. Some with lots of machines, a little further, some with a coffee shop inside, but this one caught my attention so I decided to give it a try. The place was very clean and well kept. Smelled very good. There was a very nice lady there working that seemed to know everyone that came in. You can tell there is definitely a local vibe in this place. The clientele was very friendly. The machines start at $2.50 to wash and $0.25 to dry for every 7 minutes. Can't beat that ! So I was able to separate my cloths this time, do 2 loads and be in and out in less then 1h30m. There is parking in the front. People can double park behind you if they need to quickly run inside. And there is additional parking in the back. The only thing I would add as a service to the customers is Wi-fi. Not a deal breaker but it would be nice to be able to sit in the car and wait while watching some movies on Netflix thru your laptop.
