Classic Tent Rentals & Party Supplies

Classic Tent Rentals & Party Supplies

Horrible experience beginning to end. This vendor has been nothing but a nightmare and headache…read more We rented tables, chairs, linens and fabric draping for my Saturday wedding to use in the 1805 Harmonist Historic Barn in Harmony, PA. Initially the customer service was just average - the sales girl, Jamie, did not seem very interested in doing her job. She was not very hospitable or friendly in any of our communications, especially compared to other vendors I was price shopping. The prices were average as well - what sold me on using their service was that they were able to provide draping for the barn doors, and no other local vendors had all of the equipment we needed AND the draping. For convenience sake, I chose Classic Tent, however this was a HUGE MISTAKE. Upon arrival the two young men who showed up were polite, but seemed confused by some of the order. I walked them through the layout and they set up the tables and chairs and left the linens hanging in bags. The order was not correct and we were missing 8 chairs and the linen for the cake table. The employees used rocks from outside to "balance" the metal framework for the barn draping, and did not anchor or weigh it down with anything. As a result, when the wind blew, the entire structure fell down and my groom and officiant had to re-secure it for the rehearsal, and we used our own sand bags to properly weigh down the base. Initially the person who answered the emergency phone, Tom (I believe he is the owner), was reluctant to send the remaining items from our order because some of them had been added just a few days before the wedding and he said there was "no record" of the change. I had to tell him that even if they didn't update the quantity of items on the order, they charged me the price increase and surely took my money already! Then he informed us that they couldn't bring the rest of our missing order on the same day, despite it being their mistake, so my groom had to go back to the venue the following morning at 10am to take delivery of the missing items. Unfortunately their employees had shown up early, and without calling anyone, left all the the items outside the locked venue - in the rain. The final straw was when they *informed* us that they weren't coming back to pick the items up until Monday the 19th at 9am, despite our contract and rental agreement stating that the event end date was Sunday the 18th. Nowhere in our contact, or in any email communication, was there an agreement to have the items picked up on Monday. The man who I spoke with that answered the "emergency cell phone" told me many things; such as "we pick up the items at our discretion and there is no pick up date" "we don't do Sunday pick ups" "if we do a Sunday pick up there is a fee" "our driver told you after he dropped it off that he was picking up Monday." "I've been in this business for 20 years and we don't work on Sundays". The owner of the company actually had the audacity to say that the delivery driver told me that they were picking up on Monday, so that was "our agreement". I had to remind him that HIS OWN CONTRACT has a clause in it that states that no changes to the original contract can be made without it being done in writing, and that I never agreed to any such changes at any time - even when his driver was basically holding the items hostage that I had already paid for in full. All if this despite the fact that our contract stated that the event end date was Sunday, October 18th. I literally had to argue with this "business man" for an hour to try to get him to have his employees come out and remove their equipment on the date they were scheduled to. He still threatened to charge a double-time pick up fee. I am not sure if they will try to charge my credit card or not. On top of everything, all of the equipment was FILTHY upon receipt. The delivery guys tried wiping down the white chairs, but some were so dirty and in such poor condition they should have never been used for an event. But, when you only have one day before your wedding you really can't make any changes and find a new provider for tables and chairs on such short notice. This company is a disgrace and should be ashamed at the way they treat their customers.

They researched, emailed, called, collected proposals, and vetted every vendor before presenting us options. They handled all communication and coordination with vendors all the way up to the wedding day. These two have such a feel for design. They used colors, textures, lighting, and accents to create the overall "modern boho, earthy vibe", we envisioned. They captured the very essence of our personalities, it was literally "so us!" Our favorite part of the planning process was our dinner & drinks where we hung out for hours catching up and discussing wedding plans. We became genuine friends throughout our time working together. They were always a text or call away. Sarah even saved the day when 2 vendors backed out, due to covid, a week before the wedding. A situation that would have made any couple breakdown, Sarah was quick to suggest solutions and had everything back on track by the end of the day!! Everything they did was absolutely above and beyond. Everything they touched turned to gold. IRIE was worth every cent we spent.

Chef And I did a wonderful job at my company party ! Guests are still raving about the food and I…read morecan't wait to have another event for them to cater at. I highly recommend their chicken Ramada, pasta, and they had grilled cheese and tomato soup! Communication with them was great & the service as well!

Not successful at accommodation allergens. They told a gluten sensitive person at our wedding that…read moreall of the pasta was gluten-free when it wasn't, which could have literally killed two celiacs at the wedding. Their vegan supplied dish was not a sufficient meal and the guest had to basically bend over backward to finally have it brought to her. For their most expensive station style event with all of the upgrades we expected better attention to detail and white glove service, not for people at a pasta bar to be trained how to cook directly in front of the bride. Bare minimum is not causing serious allergen reactions to by guests, and even after meeting with them in person, multiple calls, and filling out all their forms, they were unable to accomplish what I told them was my top priority. And even after extensive apologies from the venue the caterer has not bothered to reach out. If you choose to use Chef & I, I would recommend waiting to give their automated 20% which for us was almost 2k (which is unclear whether goes to the proprietor or the actual minimum wage employees) until after you experience their service. At no point was interacting with this caterer easy, they felt incompetent and rushed through our tasting like we were on a factory line worrying about who was next or who was before us. It didn't have the attention to detail and care that every other vendor associated with Lingrow Farm did. They were very happy to say no or argue about every accommodation we asked for, even though we paid for nearly every upgrade we could. They can cook, but their customer service made me wish we had chosen National Public House instead. The wedding vendors we interacted with at every stage from our photographer, to the venue, to wedding dress shops all made you feel cared for and special even though they see hundreds of clients a season. The Chef and I made us feel like we were a burden to ask simple things that I think should easily be baseline for any business serving people food. Let alone any other requests they rejected, like making signs to indicate allergens on their stations, serving five of our guests the non-alcoholic cider we'd supplied, or supplying the one vegan guest with a meal that had plant-based protein. Their mantra was "No sorry we don't do that". I'd expect that from a McDonalds, not a luxury catering business being paid multiple tens of thousands of dollars.
