At the ground floor, there's a spacious gift shop. The Martin Building is an 8-story building with lots of glass tiles. It has indigenous arts of North America, Asian art, Latin American art & art of the Ancient Americas, European/American art before 1900, photography, textile art, fashion and major architecture and design collection. Both buildings are good to explore; but if you're pressed for time, I'd recommend going to The Kirkland first (which is my favorite).

We were in town for spring break so we wanted to drop by and check it out. We arrived on a Thursday early evening. Red Rocks Amphitheater is located 10 miles southwest of Denver in the beautiful town of Morrison, CO. Parking is accessible all around the amphitheater. There was no concert scheduled that night. We were hoping to catch the sunset but unfortunately we missed it. The lighting was still great for pictures though. We parked by the Upper South Lot. From there it was a moderate 10 minute walk to the south ramp of the venue. During the walk the views of the valley is stunning. Once we made it inside the outdoor amphitheater, I was in awe of the beauty and ambiance of the Red Rocks amphitheater. The majestic backdrop of the red rocks was definitely something I have never seen before for a concert venue. It was unique and beautiful. We were able to start from the bottom of the stage area and make our way to the top. It was a nice workout climbing up the seats steps. From the top, the different angle view of the amphitheater and backdrop was amazing as well. Overall we enjoyed our time exploring Red Rocks amphitheater. It was a one of a kind experience. Unfortunately the visitor center was closed and we did not see a live concert at the venue. We hope to be back again so we can attend a concert.

Today's occasion was a club level suit for a friend's birthday and it was also Rocky's birthday as well. Another big reason I loved this hotel is that they serve a complimentary dinner! When I was there they had soup, salad, rice, rolls, and dessert bars! I've never been to a hotel that has free dinner, so that was awesome! The breakfast was also great, with a ton of options to make anyone happy! Perhaps one of the best things about staying here was that I only paid $69 per night for such a good time! My room was big, it had a kitchen, the bed was really comfy, and the water pressure in the shower was great. I paid the price of a cheap motel but had a much better experience! The lady at the desk was very apologetic about the people arguing and said many had complained about them and they took care of the problem, which was appreciated. I could not handle the dirtiness of the place. My husband and I had arrived late Sunday and was tired from driving from Texas and just needed a bed. We checked out and went to a much better place. I advice DO NOT STAY AT THIS PLACE. I feel as if I can't get the dirtiness off me.

This is a non-collecting museum which means there is no permanent collection, but instead a…read morecontinuing series of temporary exhibits, some unique to this facility and others traveling between multiple museums. Quality can be highly variable, but that's always in the eye of the beholder. The focus is on contemporary art, as the name says, and much of this is intended to be highly provocative. I'm not a fan of art that requires a lengthy, written explanation to make sense and the curators here are often fond of that stuff, but I've also seen many beautiful, moving, thought-provoking, and inspiring exhibits. This is a bite-size facility with three floors of galleries. There is an elegant cafe on the top floor with a full bar and a nice selection of snacks, sandwiches, wine, beer, soft drinks, espresso drinks, and cocktails. The views from the roof deck outside the cafe are excellent. Street parking is metered and limited in this area; however, the museum has a deal with the parking garage across the street (1900 16th Street). Turn right off 15th Street onto Delgany Street, then immediately turn left. You'll see a large banner on the parking garage building touting museum parking as you turn off 15th Street. Use the QR code at the MCA's front desk to get one hour of free parking and two more hours at $5 each. All of the parking and access options can be found on the Web site at: Visit/Getting to MCA Denver The MCA has a very active schedule of events including lectures, classes, tours, film, parties, and many experiences geared to teens. The museum operates a second facility at the Holiday Theater in Lower Highlands in addition to the main Fries building. The Fries building is an excellent space for the display of contemporary art and was designed by starchitect David Adjaye. The Holiday Theater, built in 1914, then the Egyptian Theater (1926-1953), has been restored by the MCA as a 400-seat venue and performance hub for arts programming. Another facet of the museum is the Octopus Initiative. The MCA has assembled a collection of works by local Denver artists. Any Denver resident can create a list of favorites, then participate in a rotating lottery where these works are loaned out for ten month periods. The MCA has something for almost everyone and is certainly a major Denver treasure worth checking out.

Fun facts: my aunt got married here in the 90's when it was the Cañon Inn, I also got married here in the 2000's, but it was bought by Quality at that time! Our stay was Tuesday night thru Saturday morning. Checking in the front desk gal was sweet and attentive. My husband had thrown the card with the internet passcode on it into the outside trashcan accidentally, so I had to go back down and get that info again from her. I complemented that the room was bigger than the photos showed online (we stayed in a 2 queen room and there was room for our kiddos blow up bed and all our luggage!) The free breakfast was just okay, nothing too crazy, except the waffles were very yummy (when there was table syrup instead of sugar free syrup available) but can't complain too much when it's FREE! We knock a star off because our room was not cleaned and our towels were not replaced, even with asking the front desk, the entire time we stayed. That's 4 nights; and they told me they clean every 3rd day... on the 3rd day, we stayed in our room in the morning and never heard a housekeeper knock or anything... our trash was overflowing and we had to put our used towels in the tub, just so we could use the toilet in the tiny bathroom. The sink in the bathroom did not drain very well, but we only really used it for washing hands and teeth brushing so it wasn't a huge deal to us. The beds and pillows were comfy, the tv didn't connect to the WiFi and therefore could not connect to Netflix, but we had food network on whenever we were in the room. The internet was fast and our kids enjoyed watching their tablets before bed with no interruptions.

This is the ultimate craft beer festival in the United States. I'm glad I finally got to complete…read morethis three-day pilgrimage. There were some 500 breweries pouring at this year's event. Initially, this volume was discouraging, because it didn't seem like I would be able to make a dent in it. However, this feeling soon gave way to the joy of adventure. No matter where I happened to land, I could find plenty of styles that interested me. Strong ales, in particular. The size of the convention floor is immense, so you can only go back and forth, from one end to the other, so many times. It helps to follow some sort of strategy. Early on, I completed a series of small missions. I tasted everything that interested me from the section featuring collaboration beers, followed by the section with medal-winning brews from previous years. Next, the section with international beers. From there, I treated my favorites from the most well-known regional brewers like an aircraft carrier. These included the likes of AleSmith, Dogfish Head, Firestone Walker, Pizza Port, Russian River, and Sierra Nevada. I sampled at random from the rest of the lot. I made sure not to overexert myself during the day, and to get adequate sleep each night. Also, to be well-fed and hydrated before, during, and after each of the three, four-day sessions. The entire convention floor is concrete, so my feet progressively tired from walking on it over the course of three days. This makes it important to wear shoes with optimal cushioning. The Thursday evening session is great, because it's not too crowded. The Friday and Saturday sessions, on the other hand, are dense with people. However, this is easily absorbed by the vast array of tasting stations. For certain breweries, the lines are ridiculous, so I never bothered with those. There is no re-entry after you leave the event. However, the four hours go by fast, and there are plenty of areas with seating to rest from walking. The food selection was nearly devoid of vegan options. I was able to get a vegan noodle and rice bowl from Cupbop, but they didn't have tofu or other plant-based protein to put in it.

The organizers have done a good job organizing the event into unique sections with different ambiance. That seems hard to do with no walls, but they have managed it with surprising results. Whenever someone drops a glass, it has gotten a fun reaction. They have had silent disco at some of the events and I've had fun with complete strangers doing that. The staff was efficient getting us in each time. But try to leave before close. It was easier to get an Uber or Lyft that way.
