I'd like to start this off by saying I emailed the bar on April 6th and it now the 9th. I warned…read morethem that if they didn't reply with some way to fix the situation I would be posting reviews. After this is posted I'll be moving onto Facebook. Okay, so I went to L3 as part of the bar crawl bunny hop ran by XL. The event was great I had a great time at all the bars except for L3. We had been in the bar at the beginning of the night and had no issues but then we can back around 1am and I guess the place had gone to shit. My boyfriend ordered a beer, paid for it and then asked for a shot. He then asked the bartender if he could pay debit, she said yes and he took his card out. He waited about 5 minutes and she never came back with the debit.( he had every intention to pay) another 5 minutes goes by and she finally realized that she had fucked up..NOW what your thinking is most places would ask you to pay and apologize because she forgot about her customer. INSTEAD she tells the security and says that he "stole the shot" HAHA. So now the security could of also asked him to pay but NO! Two security guards say "YOU'RE OUT OF HERE!" and grabs him very aggressively. So my boyfriend says "what did I do?" He says he stole a shot and so he takes his debit out and said "can I pay?" The security repeats you're out of here! And pushes him really hard. He then says OK, I'll leave..can I at least finish my beer? I paid for it. He ripped the beer out of his hand and slams it on the table. And continues to push my boyfriend while he is trying to walk out on his own...can I just add that my boyfriend is about to get knee surgery for his ACL and meniscus so he can barely walk as is and this guy is pushing him for no reason. I then ask the second security guard why he got kicked out? He says he doesn't know..I'm sorry, your pushing someone and you don't even know why? Then I go to the bar to ask. A bartender was standing there refusing to talk to me and then the one that kicked him out comes out and explains her side of this. I said okay then allow him to pay? She says she can't help me. I'M SORRY WHAT? At that point my whole group was upset so we left and went to chilli pepper which was a better party, nicer staff and really polite security guards. I do not recommend this place. It was basically because of the bartenders lack of multi tasking skills common sense and lack of manners that my boyfriend got kicked out for her mistake and the security are clearly assholes and way too aggressive with their customers. I have seen other reviews on other sites that have had common situations with the guard kicking them or others out for something they didn't do and literally throwing people out. Makes you wonder..doesn't it?

The Peer was named as such because men would go and "Peer" at all the cute people dancing (of both…read moregenders). Unfortunately the Peer did not last too long. It closed down not too long after the last time I went there. My friends Patrick and Jules took me here, and it was a fantastic club. The music wasn't as good as at the Coliseum and Continental downtown, but the phenomenal location right by the lake near Tifft on Fuhrmann, where the wind turbines now are, was such a wonderful place for a club in the winter. Unfortunately it was an awful club spot in the winter and cold weather, and since most of the year is freezing up here, that's probably what happened. To the person whose feelings I hurt that used to go here with me, I'm really sorry. I miss you.

I absolutely loved this Nightclub my friends and I would go to the beach all day and tan planning…read moreour night out @ "The Pier" We would all go to one house and get ready for our nightout of Dancing and getting totally hammered. Flirting with all the hot guys and waiting for The # 1 football team to show up and party with the Buffalo Bills Team back when Jim Kelly was the Quarterback and the whole team played as a well oiled machine couldn't get any better than this! Was really sad to see this landmark close down with the right owners and business ingenuity this could have stayed open longer and rented out I the winter for different functions. Was so sad to see it close brings back great memories!!!

"When we are children we seldom think of the future. This innocence leaves us free to enjoy…read moreourselves as few adults can. The day we fret about the future is the day we leave our childhood behind." -Patrick Rothfuss, The Name of the Wind ******************************************************* You could offer to take me out to eat, for a hike, for a long walk on the beach. If it's on Tuesday evening though, count me out! I will very quickly decline in favor of coming here! Every Tuesday Swing Buffalo hosts a swing dance evening beginning with an East Coast Swing beginner lesson at 7:45pm (there's a recommended $5 donation) followed by open dancing until 10pm. Once you learn the basics they offer follow-on classes during the 7:45pm time period in case you want to learn dances such as the Charleston, Lindy Hop, Balboa, and more. Long ago in another world now that seems like a dream, I didn't know how to swing dance at all. As the quote above mentions, there's a certain childlike wonder and innocence that comes alive when you dance. And what always happened to me was fear always held me back - fear of what would happen if I dove into the waters of dancing where surely I would make mistakes. Something in me was afraid of drowning. I think we all experience at least of little of this fear. I experienced it a lot. Now though, I avoid thinking of such times where I would watch on from my seat as my two older brothers danced with their wives in some sort of beautiful poetic motion which seemed foreign and wonderful. And so finally just a few months ago, I broke down and told myself I was going to learn. My friend had been inviting me here for months and so one evening, I came. All I can say is, I love it and am super thankful for this place. The volunteers who run Swing Buffalo are amazing too! They are so nice and they love dancing with beginners so they can help them learn. I've been amazed at how nice the the regulars who come here every week are. It's an open, friendly, and tight-knit community. You should definitely come - I think it would be bring some more sunshine to your life!

I've always wanted to go to a swing dance class. When I was a teenager, I heard about places where…read moreyou could take a lesson and then have open dance but at that time, I didn't have anyone to drag along. Well, this fall I heard about Swing Buffalo and mentioned it to a friend who was also interested to we headed out to the Polish Cadets Hall on a Tuesday night. It was better than I expected! It costs about $4 to go (more if there's a live band that night) and there's a half hour lesson from 8 to 8:30 and then open dance until about 10. You don't need a partner because for the lesson everyone pairs up and then you rotate after learning/practicing each step. It might seem intimidating at first but there's usually a nice mix of beginners and more experienced people and everyone is friendly! It's also a nice way to meet the other people who are there. After the lesson, the open dance begins and you get to try the new steps you learned that night. Don't be shy. Everyone is willing to dance. My first night, I danced with at least 8 different people. It was great! Even though I didn't come with a partner, I was able to dance all night! Oh and I was pleasantly surprised that there was nearly an even mix of men to women. I was just sure there would be about 5 men and the rest women pairing up. There's no need to get dressed up all fancy, but you can wear cute swingy clothes if you want. There is a cooler of water to refresh you and usually a few snacks that it seems the members bring. The atmosphere is casual, fun and welcoming. You should definitely check out swing dancing with Swing Buffalo!
