At the time, my son was 3 1/2 and we had never had professional portraits done of him or our family. I wanted to do them, but every time I spoke with a photographer, he or she mentioned taking pictures in a studio with artificial light and faux backdrops. Ugh - I am not a fan of cheesy studio pics. So I'd never gotten around to family photos. When I saw this photographer taking pictures of a family in a natural setting, I knew that was what I wanted. Having some chutzpah, I approached and asked for a card. I went home and looked up Barbara Bell online. Barbara Bell had no Yelp reviews at that time, but a beautiful portfolio. Done - hired. * Photography: 5 stars - I love her images shot in natural light. * Personality: 5 stars - Very pleasant during photo shoot and helpful when choosing which images to order. * Value: 4 stars - Like most professional photographers, the clients don't keep the negatives and buy the prints they like by selecting them online. * Communication: 3.5 stars - Hard to reach at times. We set up a photo shoot and met in the same park for about an hour. Our beloved dog was included (he *is* a family member after all). We had a fun and relaxed photo session; she was excellent with my son who hammed it up for her. The only downside was the inconvenience of not being able to reach her by phone. If you can't reach her, try email. We were extremely happy with the images she produced of our family. I would definitely hire Barbara again.

We needed a photographer that was familiar with City Hall and searched online until we found Daniel. We knew he was the right fit when we saw this work and got to exchange a few emails. He was truly tested when found out there was news conference at the foot of the stairs as well as rain, both threw a wrench in our plans but we worked with what we had and it was lovely. We found Daniel here on Yelp and we went with him over the other photographers because he was easy to get in touch with, nice in person, and we likes his portfolio. When we met him we saw him for the nice and fun guy that he is. It was important for us to feel like we're dealing with a person instead of a stiff robot (if that makes sense). On the wedding day, he was awesome! He directed us very well and even took some specific shots for us. He even put up with all the family and friend pictures after the ceremony haha! We had some issues of losing light (winter marriage) and he decided to take some more pictures at the church before we headed off to the reception area and this turned out to be a GREATA decision since it was very dark soon. Had we waited, those ceremony pictures would have been dark. He had worked at our venue before, so he knew his way around the place and did his thing. I focused on enjoying the moment and making sure my new bride was happy, and Daniel took care of the awesome pictures. We got back all the pictures within a month and my wife went back and forth with him over email to pick some photos to touch up and to re-edit. In the end we were SUPER HAPPY and i would recommend Daniel Hon to anyone. When we first saw his portfolio, we were like "Yes this is the photographer that we would want." They are both extremely personable and so easy to work with. We met with him initially to see if he was a good fit for us - vibes, editing, price, what we get from his packages, etc. Everything had checked the boxes. Leading up to the wedding day, we had a couple of more meetings with him to confirm everything. We asked for recommendations for photo spots post wedding and Danny provided a few locations that fit into our itinerary. On the day of, Danny and Julia were prompt. They worked really well with us, our wedding party and all of our guests. There were times when I would be like, "Ok this is an interesting pose or idea, but I'm going to trust the process." I am soooo glad I trusted the process because the photos turned out to be masterpieces. Overall, 100% would recommend for your special occasions. After her photos I started following the Sweet Poppy Studios blog where you can see spectacular photos from different photo shoots. I was so impressed by her photography that I decided I wanted her to take photos of me for my blog. I have had professional photos taken before for Christmas cards and what not but had never had a photo shoot by myself. It was a huge relief during our big day knowing we had a team that knew exactly what they were doing and guiding us along the way. Max is a legit photographer and knows his craft. The portfolio of photos and video on his site and here are pretty representative of what you'll get. My wife wanted a specific bright and cool look to the photos and he nailed the style perfectly. He even pulled us aside later during the day where there's a short 30 minute window or so to capture shots when the light hits you just right. A lot of the shots during that session ended up being some of the best shots in our collection. We opted for the package with his team, who were also great. We figured this helps free up Max to capture our big moments while his crew could capture alternate angles, details and B-roll footage. All of this contributes to elevating your highlight video, which turned out amazing. Overall, would definitely recommend and a big thumbs up for Max. I knew is was the one for us! Max showed up for our rehearsal on time and met our wedding party and family and it felt so great to have us all working together. Him and his assistant went over and beyond on the wedding day. Photos at every angle and different lighting, and he stayed way past the scheduled time just to make sure he got the best possible photos for my husband and I. We are very happy with our choice. The only thing I wish we had done differently, was give Max a list of specifically who to have one on one photos with. My husband and I are both a little passive, especially on a distracting day like our wedding day and did not speak up about getting more individual photos. Our fault for not giving him a list! Lots of group photos for sure, and the most beautiful photos of the two of us!
