Today we went pumpkin picking and I'm currently 38 weeks pregnant and we happened to have a private pumpkin ride to the pumpkin patch! Danny was an absolute SAINT and drove so slowly and smoothly. He dropped us off at the patch where it hasn't been picked through. Incredible and kind service from everyone at the farm! Absolutely love coming here and getting gourds. Perfect for families and love coming to the petting zoo! They have Chloe the friendly horse, goats, pigs, cows, and donkeys. Love love love this farm especially now when it's fall here in the Adirondacks!!

In the summer, they give free hayrides during the Clinton County Fair. Mary the horse is very sweet and the cows and goats will also say hello! In the fall you can pick gorgeous sunflowers and take pictures in the fields. During Halloweekend you can go through the corn mazes and pick out your favorite pumpkin. This place is perfect for families too, the children can visit the petting zoo where the pigs, donkeys, goats roam free in the fences. You can actually walk into their gates and play with them. We loved meeting the baby goat, Loco and her mother Coco! The pigs love their belly rubs and will fall over when scratching them! It's very cute. Many of the things to do here are free so great value! They sell local apples, gifts and fun things in their gift shop too. Supporting the local farms in town is great for the community here. This is one of my favorite local farms to visit in town!

Everyone needs to go apple picking if they ever get the chance (and are not allergic to apples). There's something satisfying about finding a beautiful apple, picking it, and eating it. The Orchard gives you a handy guide to locate different apple varieties, each variety identified with a distinctly colored ribbon. Our goal was to find the delicious Honerycrisp. That's when I learned how delicious Honeycrisp is. They sell cider and cider doughnuts which are both delicious. You can also buy bags of already picked apples. How convenient!

Walked us through the process of creating apple cider, which by the way... was the most amazing cider. There was zero disappointment at Pelkey's. The farm provides buckets for you to use and will direct you to rows of berries to pick from. We spent about an hour and came home with around 8 lbs of berries for just under $20. We hiked our way up to the farm to catch the milking demonstration, very educational for youngsters. Staff at the farm were easy to talk to and kind to answering questions about the process of taking care of the animals on the farm. It was later in the day so we were catching mostly all the last parts of their demonstrations. If you don't mind a bit of a hike and the smell of the farm it's for you. I think it's worth an experience for younger generations for sure. Speaking of that, they also had an area in the chicken coop with toys to play with and books to read for young children. Growing up on a chicken farm helped me learn a lot about work ethic and how much we need farmers in our country the further we get into the future and have many rights of self-sustaining capabilities taken away from us through the government and big business push. The grounds go down to Lake Champlain, including where the adjacent Inn and Flower Garden are. Some of the walking paths criss-cross the maple syrup tapping lines. Fun to see and pet their cows plus the big Farm Barn, where the independent organic O Bread Bakery* and Beeken/Parsons furniture maker both operate. (* See separate review.) Although our visit was on an early December Sunday, there's apparently more going on from Spring on and over Summer. Would recommend stopping by Shelburne Farms any time, especially great for kids!
