Tour groups are TOO LARGE! they pack over two dozen people into tiny rooms with the people breathing down your neck. Price of the tour is TOO EXPENSIVE: if the groups were smaller so the experience wasn't so rushed and crowded, I would accept the high price. But to charge this amount and then jam you into a too-crowded tour group is simply price-gouging at the expensive of the customer. Really takes away from the positive feeling of the experience. If it weren't for the great guides (maybe I just go a good one?), I don't think this place would do very well on its own. . ..

Signed on for the optional self guided attic and basement tour and I'm so happy I did. Got to speak with a guy named JT who works there and he was so full of knowledge regarding Sarah and the house. He really gave such a new perspective to the designs I had never thought of before. I understand the tour guides have a script and they like to lean into the paranormal but Sarah is such a character, just like her house. It almost felt disrespectful walking through and hearing they had 'ghost' noises playing in part of the basement. This woman was highly intelligent and did so many great things just to be painted as a crazy woman. Winchester needs to do better. Major shout out to JT, if he ran that place I just know it would be spectacular.

Service is quick and friendly every time, no long lines and no hassle. They deliver food and drinks to your seat. Food is better than expected for a movie theatre, definitely a plus. Each seat also has a pull-out tray for your food, and you can scan a QR code right from your seat to order, which makes it really convenient to enjoy an actual meal while watching your movie. I ordered the Piquillo Chicken Ciabatta, which comes with grilled chicken, avocado, bacon, pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomato, and piquillo pepper aioli on toasted ciabatta. It was pretty good! I got the Cajun fries on the side and they were seasoned really well. I also ordered a Shirley Temple. When it first came out, the soda didn't taste right, so I asked if they could take it back and remake it. They were nice about it, and when they brought the new one back, they explained that they actually had to change out the Sprite in the soda machine. I appreciated that they took accountability, fixed the issue, and explained what happened. The remake was much better! My food and drink came out to $33.45, which I do think is a little pricey for one person, but I understand you're also paying for the dine-in movie theater experience and the convenience of having everything brought directly to your seat. One thing I wasn't a huge fan of was the cleanup. After I finished my drink, I asked one of the workers if they could take my cup and they did. Later, when another worker came by with my receipt, I politely asked if she could also take my empty plate because it was getting in the way of my view of the screen. She told me that the plates would be taken at the end of the movie. I understand that may be their normal process, but since the plate was blocking part of my view, I would've appreciated having it taken away when I was finished. Overall, I'm giving my first experience 4/5 stars. I really enjoyed the comfortable reclining seats, the food, and the whole dine-in movie concept. Eating in the dark can be a little difficult , but it's still a fun experience. Hopefully next time everything goes a little smoother, because I would definitely come back and give it another try!

3rd ANNUAL TACO FESTIVAL…read more WTF happened? Quality went down the porter-potty. Less trucks, more people. And why was the prepaid ticket line wrapped around the block, yet the buy your ticket now line only 30 people deep?! The organizers need to be fired. Everybody was complaining up the yingyang. So what would be the point of getting your tickets in advance. On top if that... Printed out tickets had a faster advantage over those with electronic tickets. Absolutely terrible!!!!! Not as much trucks as 2013. - FRESH COCONUT JUICE ($5) by some random Mexican cart. They crack the coconut on the spot. After drinking you can bring back the coconut and they will break it down and give you the coconut meat inside the coconut. Everybody kept stopping us and asking where we got it from. Good stuff! - SHAKEN FILET TACO ($4) by Broth 3rs Kitchen truck. That was the worst taco of all tacos WITHIN the past two years I've attended the never. It sounds great "filet" but it was literally a piece of lettuce with tiny bits of meat with nothing special. Portion to price was junk. I was disappointed with this truck. No wonder there was barely no line. - LOBSTER TACO ($3.50) by We Sushi truck. We have to get this every yr. How often do you ever get a lobster taco - taco is a fried wonton. - SUSHI TACO ($3.50) by We Sushi truck. I actually like this more than the lobster taco. Different cuts of sashi on top if a fried wonton. Taste was well executed. - CALAMARI TACO forgot by what truck but it was mediocre. Barely any calamari. They didn't have the truck from '12 serving the really good calamari taco in '13. S'MORE CUPCAKE ($3.50) by FairyCakes is one of the best cupcakes I've ever had. They are here every yr and their cupcakes run out fast. So moist and delicious. I love anything s'mores but this cupcake is to die for! ICE CREAM TACO ($3.50) by forgot what truck was super tiny. I had the mint chip but that mini itty bitty taco ice cream was home in two bites, literally. Hit and miss tacos. Wasn't too thrilled with some selected picks. They gave us a red token to give to the best truck and our group of 7 gave our tokens to NOBODY!!! Will I be back? Maybe. This yr was such a turn off to prior years.

They didn't lie; this was definitely "The Bay Area's Largest Food Truck Festival" - or at least…read moreit's the most I've ever seen in one place! There was a TON of people here and very long lines. A divide and conquer approach is the only way to try more than 2 trucks - so come with a group. Things were pretty organized and parking was easy if you're willing to pay $6. (We were.) It also helped that the weather cooperated and was perfect for a festival. By the name, one might think food offerings would be limited to tacos ONLY, but that definitely wasn't the case. In fact, there was Treatbot's delicious ice cream, po' boys from Louisiana Territory, and garlic pork fries from Soulnese - to name a few of my favorites. My group concluded that the best tacos could be found at the following trucks: The Chairman KoJa Kitchen CurryUpNow Soulnese (My personal favorite! Loved the Pork&Potato taco here) There were also offerings from: Louisiana Territory MoGo Seoul on Wheels Tacos de Los Altos Bigg Shrimpin' No Way Jose MoBowl And others I can't recall... At $2 per taco, it was easy to fill up on cheap, delicious eats, all in one location. The best thing there? The "Eastside Horchata" ice cream from Treatbot. I know, that's not a taco! But I swear the horchata ice cream was just like the real thing - but better! They also offered "408" - a caramel ice cream with fudge and oreo (tasted more like coffee than caramel, but whatever). Tips for next year (if it comes back): Buy tickets online to avoid a very long line. Get your wrist band for booze before getting in another line for said booze (it's not obvious that this is necessary). Park in the lot off of Phelan Avenue - plenty of spaces available. Bring water in your purse, or backpack - they charge $1 per bottle. Advice to festival: Signs are your friend. Please use them next year. Getting in was annoying - first, you scanned my ticket, then I had to go give it to someone else to get in. How about you scan the ticket then take it, all in one? For being their first year, this was definitely a success. I'm looking forward to coming back in 2013!

We did not enter the trail until 720pm, and that is after getting in line at 640pm. Just be aware. Which is fine, my family had fun and the actors inside are funny and well rehearsed. However, since we waited so long, we got out of the trail around 750pm. My kid wanted to play the carnival games, which close at 8pm, so we bought some tickets to play, and were out to the carnival by 752pm, they had already taken everything down and had only a few simple games still up. My kid was bummed, but I figured since there were no refunds, I could go back and get a snack instead with my tickets. I was denied and told to come back next week to redeem the tickets. I know this is all for a good cause and it really isn't too big of a deal, but it is silly that I literally bought the tickets within a minute and then walked back after the carnival being closed and then denied to even use the tickets on anything else and then told to come back next week. They were told not to sell any tickets since they were closing up the carnival early, but I guess it wasn't communicated well. I guess we will be back to use up the tickets next weekend...?

Sadly, for a musuem recommendation for the kids, it feels quite limited in what they have to offer and other museums in the Bay Area have more to do for the kids and even the adults. I was quite disappointed at how much has changed at the Tech Initiative (not Tech Museum) recently. It felt like a lot of the key exhibits and attractions of the museum have been replaced or lost vs what it used to be a couple years ago. The museum felt unusually more spacious i.e. a lot of empty space than before due to exhibits being removed and interestingly, it felt slightly outdated. The Human Body exhibit was still there so that was nice to walk through and the Rube Goldberg exhibit outside was exactly as it was years back. The gift store was pricey and didn't have as much interesting gifts but the IMAX show felt just like before & was included in the admission, which was nice. With all the changes that this museum has gone through, I unfortunately won't be coming back here in a while until there's something new that's rolling through.
