iI had an Appointment today, at 0700. Hygienest startes- what are we seeing you for today?…read more Shouldn't they know I was there for a routine cleaning and check up. I then had to tell her that. She says 'since you are a new Patient, we'll need Xrays.' I said, I have 2 dental insurances, and if it's not covered for my routine visit, I don't want it. They state 'they don't know what my insurance will cover, etc....' I'm an Advance Practice provider. Nearly all clinics, hospitals are on the EPIC computer system. We can see all Xray reports and a patients visits from other providers too. Why can't they do that? Why can't Forwrd Dental realize I'm a new patient and look into that before I get there? Sure If they really wanted my business, when I walked in as a new patient for them with TWO Dental insurances, they should have said, ' Since you have insurance (two of them), we want you as a new patient, and we'll cover any costs of routine Xrays that your insurance won't cover. But no, they don't care about getting a new patient, WITH TWO DENTAL insurances, having NO dental problems, no mouth pain, all his own teeth, etc. I left a message asking them to call me to discuss this further. Nope, no call. They could care less. I had to give one star to fill out this review. ** Edit- To further make my point: In addition, I have a routine vision exam scheduled in a few , and get new glasses. I guiarantee they will tell me what how much my insurance covers, and the portion I will be responsible for, like If I want frames that cost a little more, etc. ** Edit- the manager called me back, we discussed the above. She basically said, we're not the right fit for you, have a good day.

Let me start my review with two of my pet peeves, they are related. I'm of an age where I just…read morecan't understand the loss of manners and civility. Dr. Nencka goes by "Dr. Joe," and the staff assumes it's okay to call me by my first name without even asking permission. Young people don't realize the racist and colonial background to Title plus first name (Driving Miss Daisy?), or how infantile it sounds to have an oral surgeon avoid his last name. Well I got over my curmudgeonly old fashioned irritation pretty quickly because I remembered I was in extreme discomfort and the very able staff here got me in right away based on a reference from my dentist in Chicago. Yes, I live in Milwaukee, but I have trust issues. I started going to a dentist in Chicago in 1968, continued when he retired with his son, and then his young partner when the son semi-retired. In Chicago, Dr. Minkowski said I needed a root canal if there was even a chance my infected cracked tooth was salvageable, but none of her go-to endodontists would give me a reasonable appointment so she reached out to her academic connections in Milwaukee (she was a Marquette grad) and came up with this Hales Corner office. Dr. Nencka was personable, charismatic, and most importantly, confident from the start. He explained the situation and possibilities to me from the start in a language that was at my level. Unfortunately I've had a few root canals, and this one was the most skillful, the most comfortable, as well as the quickest. A very unusual combination. His assistant was also excellent, and I appreciate how the billing was handled up front. They saved my tooth. Nice office, plenty of parking. There's a bunch of dentist offices right next to each other, read the signs carefully to enter the right one.
