They do a pretty good job here but the reason I stopped going was they were very strict about their fill timing, even if they were the reason you couldn't make an appointment. For example, there were a few times that they didn't have any availability for a touch up by the last day of the 3 week mark, and they gave me a really hard time about asking them to do a 3 week touch up the next day (it would have only been a day over). I ended up finding somewhere else that was more flexible on this and also did a better job on my lashes in general. Lashwell is the 3rd lash extension place I have visited and is hands down the best lash extension experience I had so far. If I ever move out of ny, I'm going to have a very hard time finding someone as caring and professional as Katie. I had somehow developed an allergy to the glue another salon was using, and even after getting my lashes done with the hypoallergenic glue, then switching salons, the allergy persisted. I almost lost all hope for having beautiful lashes forever. Then a friend of mine recommended I try Lashwell. She said the place was the cleanest she'd ever been to ( and I agree) and that Katie uses the best, most organic, hypoallergenic products. At this point, having beautiful lashes again seemed like a fantasy, and I didn't REALLY believe it could happen for me, but I was willing to try one last time. I am SO glad I did, my faith in good lashes has been restored thanks to Lashwell Here's the thing I really appreciate about Katie - she really cares about the health of my lashes. I used to get 120 thick, heavy lashes per eye at my old place. When I started coming here, Katie told me that my own natural lashes were not strong enough to hold that many lashes, so she uses thinner lashes, interspersed with a few thicker ones to still give me a more dramatic look, but without weighing down my natural lashes. Whenever I come in, Katie checks on the state of my own lashes, and either fills in with additional thin lashes, or adds some thicker ones so my eyes always look amazing. I love that she is so mindful of the health of my eyelashes, because I plan to do this for many years to come. I also started taking Biotin, per Katie's recommendation, and she says that now my own lashes are visibly stronger than they were before. YAY! My allergies haven't come back since I've been with Katie. I constantly get compliments about my eyes because the lashes look so natural. I do Brazilian Jiu Jitsu 6 days a week, there is a lot of face smashing in training ( Katie does not approve lol) but my lashes last the same way they always have. I have been to Lashwell twice, and Mimi did my lashes twice and both times they turned out great. They weren't very close to the images I showed as an example, but it seems the style I want cant be achieved with extensions, only strips. I wish Yelp would let us give 0 stars. I cannot imagine a place that deserves it more. I go in with a Gilt City voucher for a volume lash set (110 eyelashes per eye). I notified them that I would need a removal, and was charged $30 for that. I mention to the supervisor (Katie) that I am getting the volume lash set. I mention that to the tech as well, Yuki. It should be obvious based on my appointment, but I always like clarifying. I get on the bed, she takes off my lashes, applies new ones, it all seems to be going smoothly, right? When I sit up, I'm a little confused because it looks pretty sparse for 110 lashes. And I ask Yuki if she's sure that it was 110 per eye. And she looks at me and says yes, it is, and that it may look more sparse because she did not do multiple eyelash extensions per eyelash. The logic didn't make too much sense to me, but I had to go anyway, so I paid and left a tip. Now, within an hour, 5 lashes had come off. And by night, another 5. By the morning, I saw about 4 fall off on my table as I was sitting. So I send Katie a text at about 6-7am explaining that I was concerned they were falling off so quickly. I've never had anything like that happen before. I also informed her that I did not think I had 110 per eye, more like 70 per eye. Now realizing that Yuki was totally incompetent, I decided to count how many eyelashes I had on each eye. Upon counting each eye and double checking, I realized I had maybe 40-50 eyelashes per eye. So Katie offers to have me come in that day with Yuki. And I was like, that is absolutely ridiculous--Yuki has already proven that she's (1) unable to do math (2) a liar (3) terrible at application and (4) all of the above. So she gives me another tech. I get in and Katie informs me that Yuki told her she not only gave me 110 per eye, but actually put in more. I told Katie that at least 14 or so eyelashes had fallen out and that indicates some abnormally poor technique. But more importantly, Yuki had looked me in the eye and BLATANTLY LIED about how many eyelashes she put on. Either that, or she didn't know the difference between 50 and 110, which is in itself very concerning. I then asked Katie to look at my eyes and tell me if she really thought it was 110 eyelashes per eye (I honestly had more eyelashes when I came in with my 3 week old eyelashes from my other place). Katie has the audacity to say "Well maybe they fell off." ... Let's think about this a moment. I counted about 40-50 per eye. Let's be generous and assume 50 per eye. Katie was suggesting that 120 EYELASHES HAD FALLEN OFF WITHIN 24 HOURS. I asked her if she really thought that was plausible. She then said I should have come to her if I really thought something was wrong when I left. I informed her that her tech had insisted to me that it was 110/eye--was I supposed to doubt that and ask yet another person for confirmation? When you buy a service, you should not be expected to not only ask the person who performed the service--did you do this correctly, and you certainly should not have to ask her supervisor--did she perform this correctly. I inform Katie that her defensive attitude was unacceptable. Her tech has no skill whatsoever and had lied to a customer. She inconvenienced me and wasted my time. Katie then said "sorry" as though I were being totally unreasonable and I should be blase about the fact that this place essentially decided that it was not worth giving customers what they paid for. I get the new tech to count my eyelashes and tell me how many there were. He said there were 45 on one eye, and 57 on the other. I ask that he inform Katie. Then he goes on and puts the actual correct amount of lashes on my eye. When I came out, Katie had hidden herself away in another room and left another girl to handle my exit. Another customer was speaking to Katie through a crack in the door, so I knew that she was hiding in the next room, trying to shirk her responsibilities. I assume that Katie could not bring herself to face me now that her wild and unsubstantiated theories that (a) there were actually 110 eyelashes/eye or (b) that 120 eyelashes had somehow dropped off within the span of 24 hours had fallen apart. The second tech did a decently good job, though I have noticed about 5 eyelashes fall out in two days. I've certainly had experiences when I haven't seen any fall out for at least a week. But this is within an acceptable range to me. In conclusion, Lashwell wasted my time, their techs are incompetent, and their manager (Katie) and techs (Yuki) are baldfaced liars who refuse to take responsibility for anything. I would avoid this place like the plague. But if you must go, ask for the male tech, and NEVER EVER LET YUKI ANYWHERE NEAR YOU. I would also suggest you count your eyelashes. Because otherwise Katie will tell you that it's all your fault for trusting someone to actually perform the service you paid for. read more

I went here on a gilt voucher. They didn't help me pick the best lashes for my eye shape. The guy, Harry, that put them on rushed through a full set in less than an hour. He did not attach extensions onto all of my lashes, he simply glued them on top of them. This was the same job that you can get in the nail place for $25. My lashes all fell off within 2.5 weeks. If you're looking for a natural lash and expert application, Katie is your girl. The space itself is beautifully decorated and feels very luxe. I have been to a cheaper lash salon and they pulled on and hurt my eyelids in addition to using uncomfortable lashes that bothered me when I closed my eyes. There is none of that here - Katie is extremely professional yet super fast (never takes longer than 45 minutes) and I've never felt one slip of her hand in the many times I've visited. I've been getting my eyelashes done for more than 3 years now and have gone to several places, but Lashwell is BY FAR the best. Ever since I first went to Katie a year ago, I've been going back on a monthly basis. She is so skilled and attentive compared to everyone else I've been to. Highly recommend! This is my first time getting lash extensions and regret not getting them sooner. I was quite nervous in the beginning, but the young lady helped me relax by answering all of my questions and explaining the whole process. She was very gentle and professional. I have had 2 bad experiences here. 1) I paid for 90 lashes and was only given 70. Not until I called and went back they apologized and when I mentioned the lashes were falling out and drooping there was no solution. 2) time I went back because I figured I give them another chance. Did another full set for the holiday ($110) I asked for a certain lash curl and was told no. I also told them how my lases fell out the first time so the technician said she would put more glue. As soon as I left the lashes were falling out and my right eye began to have irritiation. I called, text and sent them photos. They asked me to go back in and I declined because why would I want a 3rd bad experience. I simply asked for a refund and they have refused. I have called, text and they will not assist even with the photo proof and all my forms of contact. Less than a week half of the lashes are gone. I find it poor customer service they acknowledge what I am saying is truth but they don't even care about their clients. I wanted to like this place but I have been so shocked of how they do business I just have to post this. Katie is phenomenal! Lashwell is the one and only place I've ever been/will ever go for lash extensions. I learned of them through Gilt.com and I tried them for the first time before my honeymoon. I thought lashes would be a one time thing for this special occasion but I've been going every for a fill every two weeks since February. Amazing service! Not only is this a pretty, clean and "spa-like" environment the attention to detail is superb. I have gotten lash extensions in several places and I have to say I had stopped doing it because in the past few years I had gotten terrible lashes that were heavy, prickly, and uncomfortable. I am really disappointed with the look of my lashes. It looks like I barely have any. I purchased the 90 lashes per an eye on Groupon, and it looks like I have 5 lashes.
