Fireman's Park is a baseball diamond, a pavilion, some greenery, some trees, and a soccer field, in the heart of Depew sandwiched between a bunch of railway lines (or railroad tracks if you're American). I used to play soccer here quite a lot, and was on the wrong end of several ass-whoopings by Depew Village who are an excellent BDSL team that calls this location home. I also scored some goals here, including a hat trick once, so it has good memories for me too. All in all it's a great little park, the grass isn't too bad... it's under-utilized and underappreciated by Depew Locals and could be better than it is, so I'll give it a solid 4 out of 5. Speaking of a solid 4, I have a solid 7 or 8 right here.

They're owned by ECC, but are used often by BDSL teams which send overweight beer-bellied men to kick the crap out of each other on Sundays and sometimes Saturdays and Tuesdays too. I've played soccer on these fields probably 20 times in my life, most recently about two summers ago for an away game which was brilliant because I scored twice. Great memory. I love the fields. I always play better on lush green fields with the grass well cut and this is not always well cut but it was on the day when I got my win. These days it's 15 seconds drive from my Gym so I come over here and play soccer just for fun with friends every now and again even now. These are absolutely lovely fields, but they get too windy, and they also get a little neglected during the cold months of the year, which is a shame but understandable. All in all they score a solid 4, and I always enjoyed playing here.

My Yelp friend Paul plays here a lot, while I've only played here 2 or 3 times, I can see why he loves it. The grass is lush, the fields are well-maintained, and the girls that come to watch the games are hotties. The girls that play in the games are even hotter. It's one of, surprisingly, many fantastic soccer complexes in the area, and I've played at most of them and loved them. If you ever happen to play here, then think of me, because I got a bad injury playing here once. But no hard feelings, it's a great facility and I won't punish it rating-wise just because of my bad luck.

Beautiful wide open area with a million soccer fields of all sizes…read more Ok, a million might be an exaggeration... But there really are a ton of them! The fields are kept up nicely, there is also a basketball court and a playground. Though the playground doesn't have swings which....come on...how do you not have swings? Lol There is a building for bathrooms and snack bar. The bathrooms are open all summer but the snack bar is only open for tournaments. It's a great place to practice soccer by yourself or with a team as there are often so many fields that you don't always have to reserve space.

Under the floodlights late in the evening, playing for the Eagles, we had some great moments here. Through balls, defensive blocks, epic crosses, and a very famous last minute goal by JG (hey if you're reading, that was an awesome strike!), and those memories will last forever. I actually felt like an American on those nights. Like I'd never been born and raised in a pessimistic negative rough and harsh society like I was. As if I'd been one of the dreamers, the Hollywood kids, the baseball kids, the cotton candy Kool Aid kids, and yes I must have been drinking the Kool Aid before writing this. The large soccer field in the center is perfect for practice as there is a large catch net behind the goal posts so you aren't chasing balls all over. Plenty of parking available, several shelters available for rent, and the greenery is beautiful. I have not tried reserving a shelter yet so I cannot speak to it. There is also a small pond where you can fish which is AWESOME. It's such a nice place to just take a walk or relax.

A lot has changed over the years though…read more Along with payment for the hall they request a copy of your home owners policy and a $300 deposit for any damages.They sent the deposit and policy back quickly after the event. My biggest complaint was the fireplace is supposed to automatically turn off at 8pm. A little before 6:30pm there were a few people left sitting by the fire and it shut off. The room cooled down quickly. That was kind of upsetting with how much you pay to rent the space.

There's a small splash pad with high streaming water that I sometimes play in with others. Yes, im very much a big kid at heart. Im not impressed with the swing set section but there is one there with a tetter totter across from it. There is a track that circles this section of the park. It's great for short walks or when watching ure steps for exercise. There's much more additional space of the park across the street where they hold football and cheerleading practices as well as games. The back end of the park also holds football games. What I don't like about the park is that it isn't cleaned well or often. I have seen the city parks dept "cleaning" this park on several different occasions. It literally was astounding how they purposely left trash. I said something to them once about how I've seen people come dump their trash there and how it's great we have them to make sure it's clean for park goers. Interestingly enough as I did my steps around the park repeatedly they cleaned it well that day. Go figure.

Finally it became known as Thriller Park in honour of the highest selling album of all time, released in 1982 by Michael Jackson. Finally, they combined all of those names to make what it is today. Schiller Park is a great place to play soccer, it's a nice field and I have lots of good memories from here. It might be a bit better than Bakos, just down the road, because it's a little bit cleaner. One thing I don't like about it is that the Cheektowaga Police seem to think it's fun to pull people over right next to this park all the time, it's right on the border between Buffalo and Cheektowaga, and it's a very black neighborhood, and every single car they seem to pull over on this street has a black driver. Not very heartwarming to see that kind of profiling going on... plenty of cars with white drivers come down this street too... I've seen about 20 cars with black drivers pulled over here... zero with white drivers. But I digress... it's an excellent place to play and I give it the top rating.

There is a large parking lot in the middle of the park. That surprises me, because it does not makes sense to have that big slab of asphalt in the center of the park. Besides that, it is way oversized. The park is situated almost next to the 190 highway. The, many times very loud, noises coming from the 190 really negatively impact on the park experience. We visited when the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra was visiting as part of their "6 parks, 6 concerts" summer tour. The podium was set up near the kids play ground, resulting in kids screams accompanying the great music program. The concert was great, a nice mix of swing music. Too bad about the traffic noises in the background.

Part of the Delaware Park system, and the greater Olmsted Park system, Front Park is famous for being small, and being on top of a little hill/ridge/bluff, and best of all it's famous for its spectacular views of the Peace Bridge and the Niagara River. I play soccer there sometimes in summer, and it's wonderful to feel like you're playing right under the shadow of the Peace Bridge. Awesome sauce. The fields however, are very poor quality for soccer games. And the wind is howling and crazy. However the fact that lots of ducks show up whenever it rains, totally makes up for that.
