When the original door was removed, it was clear to see that the opening had been modified. The original door was not the correct size for the opening. We had already bought a door from the original door measurements. Knowing that we would not be able to do it ourselves, I contacted Kama'aina Handyman. They did an excellent job and built a new frame for the doorway. They also replaced some cinder blocks that had broken with wood framing to make sure the door was straight and plumb. This time we had a new ceiling fan with a bracket that didn't fit the old junction box. Over the phone, Ian warned me that a new junction box may require a ceiling repair after the installation. Luckily, Ian decided to modify the bracket to fit the old junction box and easily installed the new fan. I'm not certain other electricians would have gone through that trouble. I had some small projects that i needed an electrician for. In its place i wanted to install track light above the railing to make it easy to switch out the lights. The second and third was to install an outdoor flood light and from there an outdoor weatherized outlet. Contacted Sparky and Jerry responded quickly. I provided pictures and such and when I was ready we did a site walk. He shared options of what we can do as well shared any issues. Quoted me at the end of the day and schedule the job a few days later. The day of, Sparky and Sons (total 3 of them) came in and put together a safe scaffold to remove both light fixtures and smoke detector and covered with a blank plate. Then installed the track lighted to my direction. on the outside, flood light, outdoor weather switch, and outdoor weather outlet was installed to my direction by tapping into an existing outlet in the kitchen and running it outside. They did a great job and was very professional as Jerry was instructing his son's ensuring everything was visually pleasing. One thing i truly respected was the clean up as electricians are known to leave "poop" (wire ends) all over the place. Jerry ensured this was cleaned up and threw away all trash leaving it as good or better than when they started. They did a great job, price was very reasonable, and the end result i am very happy with.

Wish I could give 10 stars!…read more After first great experience with one simple outlet fix, hired Wei to install three ceiling fans. Wei sent us quote online in couple days - and he waited patiently until we bought them to set up appointment. Wei arrived on time with another tech and brought everything he needed. They were clean, respectful, had all tools on a rolling cart, brought own footie covers, masks, vacuum, drop cloths too. Our condo is older so worried about asbestos when drilling. Had all windows/doors open but Wei had a mini vacuum so while tech drilled, Wei held hose to suck up all particles. They wore masks and we did too. We like how he confirmed with us along the way to make sure it was exactly how we wanted it placed, fan, wiring track, new outlet, things we didn't know to ask. Drilling, wiring, covering wires, and overall prep took about an hour each room. Putting together and installing fans took another 45 minutes each, and we had also asked him to install a timer box on our hot water heater - saves money as it will go on when we know we will use, and turn off during evening when we don't. He was able to set timer to turn on and off at two different times. That took a half hour or so. They cleaned up everything nicely, even vacuumed(!), turned electricity back on, wanted to take down all the boxes and trash but we said we would since we have a complicated recycling area. All fan speeds and lights worked as they should and each were perfectly placed in the middle of the room. Very reasonable cost for a full days' work! Cash or check is preferred.
