The lunch menu here sounded good, but unfortunately the kitchen was backed up and they said I wouldn't be able to order for at least half an hour. Prices here are very reasonable considering the central location. I would definitely go back, and hopefully be able to try the lunch menu next time.

My pick from the menu was the avocado salad, constructed on a base of some of the freshest greens including escarole and lamb's lettuce (canonigos in Spanish). This luscious bed of crunchy greens was topped with generous slices of avocado encircling a mound of queso fresco cubes and pine nuts, and the whole plate was drizzled with a vinaigrette made of honey and mustard. The salad greens were perfectly dressed, and the creamy avocado and queso fresco paired nicely with the earthy pine nuts and the crunch of the dried black olive powder sprinkled on top. We also tried the Piadina de Carpaccio, a hot flatbread sandwich stuffed with slices of pastrami, mesclun, melted Parmesan cheese, radish cream, and pumpkin seeds. The slices of beef were juicy and smokey, pairing perfectly with the unctuous melted cheese, the earthy pumpkin seeds, and the refreshing bite of the greens! There were so many other delicious-looking plates going by that I wish we could have tried (and photographed) even more dishes from the menu, but you simply can't go wrong with the selections here!

Best Sandwich in Bilbao…read more I will forever think about this sandwich. It's the kind of sandwich you travel to Bilbao just to have it. I've been to this place on 3 different occasions and each time it's been consistently good. It was the perfect amount of calamari, a crunchy fresh bread roll and just a light smear of a sauce. It's incredibly light. As for their other pintxos, you can opt for the pointing method by picking from what's behind the display or their daily menu. Both will offer solid options. You can't go wrong. Being that this place is located in Plaza Nueva you'll see a handful of spots offering what may look like similar dishes. They are not the same.
