Salsa, curtido, pupusas revuelta & queso con loroco

So glad this place is here. Pupusas, curtido and salsa were delicious, and flavors spot on reminiscent of home in El Salvador. It's a to go food truck, with great & friendly service. Easily accessible off of Redwood Hwy. near Trader Joe's Larkspur-plenty of parking and reasonable competitive prices. Go enjoy the National food of El Salvador, show them some love & keep them in Marin for a long time.

Delicious pupusas! Quick, clean, and very friendly. We stopped for a quick bite and this was the perfect spot.

The outside was grilled to perfection--well done... *not* undercooked like some pupuserias. Lively Latin music played at a nice volume where you can talk with your companions. Merengue and more. You give your order and are given a number. You pick your own seat. Signs are bilingual--mostly Latin patrons, which is my usual litmus test that usually means the food has authentic flavor, which I love and look for from ethnic dining experiences. It's very clean and looks freshly painted. I was here just before noon and there was a steady stream of patrons.

The lady at the front told me 5more minutes for my order, I waited 10mins and nothing. When I went to ask again she told me my order had just come through their system? Make that make sense! And on top of that there were other orders just sitting on the counter getting cold and the lady at the front cares more about peeling mangos with her back to the front door then handing out the orders to the customers that are waiting! The manager talk to me and was able to get me my order but guess what? They gave me the wrong order. We tried the pupusas we were given, they were dry and barely any filling inside. So not even the food is good. Bad customer service which is very sad because i drove from Santa Rosa to give this location a try. Will not be coming back.

Let me start by saying that I am not an expert in pupusas. This was only the second time I have…read moretried them. I found Pupuseria Blankita online, and we decided to give it a try. The place doesn't look like much from the outside, but it has plenty of parking. Once you walk in, you'll find a very clean and well-maintained dining area with about a dozen tables. You order your food, take a seat, and your meal is brought to your table when it's ready. I must warn you that, because the food is made to order, it might take a while to arrive at your table. The place is family-owned, and the owners are extremely nice and friendly. We ordered a few pupusas. I had two: one Spinach & cheese and one Carrot, Zucchini & cheese. They came with coleslaw and sauce that were just perfect. We also shared an order of sweet plantains. I ordered a Jamaica (hibiscus tea) to wash down the food. The service was great, and the food was high-quality. The pupusas were made to order, and you could tell everything was fresh. I liked the combination of vegetables and cheese in my two pupusas, but I must say that I am still not a pupusa fan! With that said, while I give Pupuseria Blankita a four-star rating for the quality of service, freshness of their food, and cleanliness of their restaurant, I would be happy to hear more from all you pupusa experts out there to educate me on what makes a perfect pupusa! I would surely appreciate learning more about all things pupusa!

The staff was super friendly and welcoming. It's like a cute little burger shop but for pupusas. The vibes are great. Clearly a lot of regulars here, stones throw from Marin Civic Center. Side-note -- you can freely roam around inside the civic center which is one of the most mind-bendingly beautiful public buildings, a Frank Lloyd Wright masterpiece that inspired a George Lucas for Star Wars. But anyhow, yes, the smell, the happy chatter, the bright windows, lots of little tables, very clean, it just feels right. I don't know Blankita but I can tell she's great. I got three pupusas, cheese and bean, revueltas, and cheese and loroco made with rice flour instead of corn. All were excellent, 5-6 bucks a piece. There are not many places like this in Marin, that feel they could be in the Mission. It's definitely going to be a tempting exit on my way home from work.

I'm a creature of habit and usually get the mole plantain enchiladas but I veered off track since it's been so long and I'm glad we did. Service super friendly, it was quiet on a Sunday afternoon but that's what also made it so nice. This place is a gem and we are lucky to still have them as part of our community.

They have wonderful food quality and excellent plating (see pic), proportion of starch to meat, flavor of dressings and salsa, chips not greasy, salad that was not just lip service to a need for veggies - it was really really good. The beans were good too! I usually am iffy with the beans - could take them or leave them, but these were tasty! I ordered the Chile En Nogada Con Walnut Sauce. I had it with ground beef. The sauce was very good. Parking is easy, and it's a bit hidden - hard to see from the street. Service is wonderful, I felt welcome and it's clear that a lot of their customers are old-timers that have been coming for decades. They are going to be seeing a lot more of me! Highly recommended.

I came around 4:30pm, and the restaurant was empty, so we were seated immediately. Service was quick and efficient. I did hear a lot of the loud conversation between the two girls at the register about Instagram and TikTok.... I ordered the super burrito, which was nicely toasted, but overall it was just okay. It wasn't bad, but it didn't stand out either. There was no real spice or bold flavor, and I couldn't quite figure out what it was missing. The horchata was pretty basic. It tasted more like plain milk with cinnamon sprinkled on top rather than the richer, more flavorful horchata you'd expect. I also tried the Baja fish tacos, which were disappointing. The fish wasn't crispy enough and lacked flavor. The tortilla was easily breaking apart. It's like they took the tortilla straight out of the bag because it was cold and didn't look cooked. It came with tortilla chips that were over-fried and borderline burnt, though I wasn't sure if that was intentional. Another reason this ended up being a lower rating for me is the owner's response to feedback. As you can see in other reviews, Tommy tends to get very defensive when customers leave criticism, which I found pretty unprofessional. After I posted my review, he actually messaged me directly (see screenshot), which was honestly off-putting. Yelp is meant to be a space for customers to share their honest experiences, whether positive or negative, and responding in that way doesn't reflect well on the business. I also live in San Francisco, where there's no shortage of authentic and high-quality Mexican food, so I stand by my opinion. Being told my palate isn't "on point" felt dismissive rather than constructive. If anything, I'd just caution others that if you leave feedback here, be prepared for a defensive response from ownership, which may impact your overall experience beyond just the food. Overall, I was surprised given the strong reviews. The meal felt pretty bland across the board, and unfortunately it didn't live up to the hype. Also the owner's attitude doesn't deserve any business. After the owners negative and defensive responses, I know I won't come back.
