THERE IS NO WAY IN DOUBLE HOCKEY STICKS THIS PLACE HAS A THREE STAR RATING! The prices may be a little high but what isn't after the pandemic hit us all. THIS PLACE IS AMAZING! The customer service was phenomenal and the food was astronomical! Best Mexican Food I've Ever Had The place to be on a Friday night! I wish I captured my food but it was devoured! I'd give 10 stars if possible! Maria Fernanda was an AMAZING SERVER!

I ordered camarones a la diabla, rice was super hard could not bite and disgusting and did not enjoy my food. I personally don't like their food at all, whatever I get is never cooked right as if they are always rushed.

The food here was super yummy! And the drinks were made very good! My only complaint would be that the tacos were a little dry not gonna lie so it was eh the rice and beans were very good loved it the ceviche was super good not too salty and didn't taste like any thing was too overpowering the salsa they bring with chips at first was actually really good not super spicy but a good taste ! Deffently recommend coming here fun environment and good food and serve was fast :)

Our plate included a quesadilla and the quesadilla had no cheese.

Got up this morning thinking we'd have a good meal , turns out we got our food cold they took it back to heat it up but when we got our plate again it was still cold , beans were COLD , we asked for a hamburger for my little brother and we literally got it before we were leaving. Our server was GREAT though she tried her best.

First time here. I enjoyed the food. I ordered 2 crispy taco with beans and rice on the side very good, it also had chips and salsa, the order was to go.. so with tips and taxes spent $8

The setup inside is adorable and had a cozy, relaxed vibe from the moment we walked in. Our server, Tom, was absolutely wonderful. He even asked if we had any allergies when ordering, which we really appreciated even though we didn't have any. It honestly showed how much they care about their customers. I don't think I've ever had a restaurant ask that before! He was also super attentive and kept our waters refilled so quickly throughout the meal. One thing we really liked was the atmosphere. We loved all the fun live music spots around Nashville too, but this was a nice change of pace if you're looking for more of a chill, relaxed vibe where you can easily enjoy conversation during dinner. We both ordered the asada tacos and they were SO delicious, exactly what we needed. The rice on the side tasted incredibly fresh too, and the tomato and corn mixed into it were the perfect addition. You could tell everything was made with care. The staff was constantly cleaning tables quickly after guests left, and overall the service was just amazing from start to finish. We had such a wonderful experience and will definitely be coming back next time we're in Nashville!

Asada Tacos: Honestly, pretty bland. The meat was cooked well but it lacked any real flavor. Salmon: Nothing special. Didn't feel like high-grade fish. Pork Belly Tacos (The GOAT): Absolute life-changing Pork Belly. As someone who's eaten a lot of pork belly, this was easily the best I've ever had. I'd come back just for this. The Portion: Tacos come with rice and beans so the portions are very generous. You won't leave hungry. 4/5 stars. The only reason for the 4-star rating is that incredible Pork Belly. It carried the whole meal. Highly recommend for that dish alone!

To their credit, Federales' service staff POURS THE DRINKS CONSTANTLY lol. They brought out bottle after bottle, esp for the Mimosa's. We enjoyed it and felt this was part of the experience there - chill out, sink into the vibe, enjoy live music and loosen up while sitting in a modern open-air concept with everyone around smiling and feeling good ... In conclusion, this rivals Adele's for my favorite Nashville brunch spot. The two have very different vibes, and I highly recommend checking out Federales!

During my visit, I got to try a solid variety: Baja Fish Taco, Carnitas, Pork Belly, Carne Asada! Every single one of them was absolutely delicious. The only minor detail to keep in mind is that the tacos are on the smaller side. However, because they are so reasonably priced, it's not an issue at all. If you have a bigger appetite, you'll probably want to order about 5 to 6 tacos to fill up, which runs you around $20--an amazing deal for the quality you get. Parking Tip: Finding a spot right away can be a challenge since 12th Ave is such a popular, busy area. If you don't mind a brief walk, you can usually hunt down free street parking nearby. Otherwise, there are paid parking options available if you prefer convenience. Highly recommend this place if you want great vibes and yummy food!

I have to admit, I was pleasantly surprised. The guacamole and chips were the standout of the meal. The guacamole was incredibly fresh, packed with flavor, and served alongside warm, freshly made tortilla chips that were hard to stop eating. We also ordered the esquites, since I'm a huge fan of authentic elote preparado. The flavors were delicious and well-balanced. My only suggestion would be to serve the esquites warm, I promise it truly takes the dish to another level. As for the tacos, the presentation was beautiful. The Al Pastor tacos looked fantastic, but they leaned a little too sweet for my taste and were missing some of the bold, smoky flavors I associate with traditional Al Pastor, like guajillo chiles, oregano, and other aromatic spices. On the other hand, the chicken tacos were excellent. They were juicy, well-seasoned, and flavorful enough to shine without needing much from the toppings. To top it all off, our server was friendly, attentive, and helped make the entire experience enjoyable. Overall, Bakersfield exceeded my expectations. While it may not replace the authentic taco shops of the Southwest, it's definitely a solid choice in Nashville, especially if you're craving flavorful Mexican-inspired food before a night out.

I've loved Ford Fry establishments for a long time, though his Nashville outposts tend to pale in comparison to the Atlanta originals, and Little Rey kind of fits that pattern. Little Rey serves Tex-Mex in a casual setting next to the Vanderbilt campus. You order at the counter and seat yourself, making this an ideal spot for a cheap, casual lunch or dinner with a crew. There's a dedicated private parking lot (almost unheard of in this area!) and lots of great indoor and outdoor seating. I came in the early evening on a weekday for dinner and it wasn't too crowded. My chips and piping hot queso came out immediately, and my chicken al carbon taco was ready by the time I got back from the salsa bar. The salsa bar is free and amazing: 6 cold dips and 1 hot dip, full of freshness and flavor. I opted for two of the mild sauces, which were super fresh tasting but not spicy whatsoever (that was on me and my choice). One small note: the self-serve setup made the salsa bar a little messy and unkempt, and I wish it had been tidied up a bit between customers. I came in craving great chips and salsa and on that point Little Rey absolutely delivered. The chips were thin, crispy, salty, and delicious. The queso was super hot and liquidy, not spicy. Perfection. The taco itself was more of a letdown: flour tortilla was cold, chicken was a bit dry, and without the addition of salsa it felt lacking in flavor. They're supposed to be well known for chicken here, so that was disappointing. For dessert I got the vanilla soft serve with chocolate and crushed buñuelos on top. Smooth, creamy, with perfect toppings. The large was a bit too much, but at $5 it was an unbeatable price for a tasty dessert. My whole meal, dessert included, was under $20, which was such a pleasant and affordable change of pace to the surrounding area. Service was friendly, kind, and fast. I'd come back for the chips and queso and soft serve alone, but I'll keep my expectations low for the other items.
